31 Day Daily Devotional SERIES for the Garden of the Heart: DAY 26

 DAY 26
Q: At Pentecost, did the apostles speak in languages or in unknown tongues?

A: ...because that every man heard them speak in his own language. Acts 2:6

 If any man speak in an unknown tongue,
 let it be by two, or at the most by three,
and that by course;
and let one interpret.
1 Corinthians 14:27
 Q: Does Anyone Read their Bible Anymore?
--No more than 3 are to speak in Tongues at any one time
--By "Course" means in order after each other
--One should be able to Interpret
.....In other words, lets say you attend a Dutch speaking Church and some Korean speakers show up. No more than 3 who have the gifts of Korean are to stand up and speak for the Korean hearers. And one at a time so as not to sow confusion and noise. And one must be able to have the gift of interpretation so as to tell the Dutch speakers what is being said/preached.
So Again I ask: Q: Does Anyone Read their Bible Anymore?

DAILY REMINDER
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
and have not LOVE, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries,
and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains,
and have not LOVE, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not LOVE, it profiteth me nothing.
LOVE suffereth long, and is kind;
LOVE envieth not;
LOVE vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
And now abideth faith, hope, LOVE, these three;
but the greatest of these is LOVE.
 And from Jesus Christ, ....Unto him that loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood,...
1 Corinthians 13:1-5,13/Revelation 1:5

-- God Confounded the Language of man by making more
Languages at Babel.
-- God's Gift of Tongues was simply giving men the ability to overcome the Language Barrier God had Created at Babel.
-- Lucifer Counterfeits by making unintelligible Languages Post-Babel..... Mocking God over Babel.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth:
Genesis 11:9

Reversing the Curse of Babel
And the whole earth was of one language...
Go to, let us go down,
and there confound their language,
that they may not understand one another's speech.
Restored to what it was in the beginning--to ONE Language
For then will I turn to the people a pure language,
that they may all call upon the name of the LORD,
to serve him with one consent.
Genesis 11:1,7/Zephaniah 3:9

Closing Thought for the Day
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Acts 2:1-13
