Cleansing by water (symbolic)
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

2) Altar of Burnt Offering=Fire & Blood
a) Cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,

b) Purified by the Fire (the world purified in the end)
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
Luke 3:17
He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready.
He presented himself for this sacrificial death
when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready.
And even if we hadn't been so weak,
we wouldn't have known what to do anyway.
