And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot...And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood;

Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the ... and reigned two years over Israel....And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother,...And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease....But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?..therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead ...because he had no son.

So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot......And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it....and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another....And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them....And they brake down the image of Baal,.....But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam,....And Jehu slept with his fathers: And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images,
even two calves, and made a grove,
and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
And they caused their sons and their daughters
to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil
in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
