And it seems women can see more shades of colors than men. Not only can women see more greens & reds, but about half of women have 4 instead of the normal 3 cone receptors and can pick out 10 instead of the normal 7 colors in a rainbow.
It also appears, for some reason, that men heavily favor blue and women are more divided between pink, red or purple as a favorite color.
Also, a man who has only male offspring is even more likely to favor blue and a woman with only male offspring increases her chance of favoring pink.
