That disaster resulted in uncountable numbers of deaths since it also triggered a tsunami which affected vast swathes of the Lisbon hinterland. 

Just as destructive as the physical carnage was the toll it took on people’s hearts and minds, as Voltaire recognized.

Voltaire was to exploit the notorious event first in his Poème sur le Désastre de Lisbonne, written in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, and again in his famous anti-clerical satire, Candide."

China: Massive wind storm blows around people and property in northwest. Another typhoon adds to the flooding of the country.

Landslides in part of the country with more flooding.

Iran: RUNNING OUT OF WATER--LITERALLY--With a heatwave at 122F the country's drought has caused the government to beg for water from nearby countries including from Afghanistan. Capital of Tehran is about out of water. national estimates are, that unless major rains come, the country could be totally out by October. The lack of water has led to national rolling electricity blackouts----and massive anti-government protests.

Taiwan: Hit by another typhoon.

Indonesia: Another quake. Volcanic eruption.

Japan: Record rainfall adds to flooding in the south. Volcanic eruption.

Turkey: Wildfires continue to ravage the country....now getting serious. Record heatwave continues.

Greece: Out of control wildfires due to heatwave.

Britain: Scotland hit by wildfire during heatwave.

Spain: Wildfires getting seriously out of control. Madrid endangered.

Portugal: Firenado rips through the landscape.

Cape Verde: Flooded from record rain storm. 

France: Intense record heatwave contributes to wildfires across the south.

Iceland: Phreatic eruption near volcano.

Italy: Heatwave contributes to massive wildfires near Naples.

Montenegro: Wildfires during heatwave. Serbia has come in to assist.

Mexico: Earthquake off coast.

Albania: Record heatwave and worst wildfires on record. 

U.S.A: Massive 1700 ft. mud tsunami in Alaska. Sandstorm closes down highways in New Mexico. Chattanooga, Tennessee and Charleston, South Carolina flooded as well as southeast Wisconsin. Red Alert for west coast due to cracks discovered in Cascadia subduction zone.

Papal Notes - Papal Groundwork for Global Error & Apostasy

"Pope Francis is in Portugal for the celebration of World Youth Day (WYD), which takes place from August 1–6, 2023. This is the largest gathering of Catholic youth in the world, which is expected to bring 354,000 pilgrims....

 

Pope Francis believes that we must not reject anything because the diversity of religions is part of God’s will for us. 

In other words, all faiths belong to the same heavenly Father and share the same destiny. 

Prophecy predicts that the Antichrist will work to deceive and unify the world’s population in the last days, gaining enormous political power and influence:

“The word of God plainly declares that his law is to be scorned, trampled upon, by the world; there will be an extraordinary prevalence of iniquity. The professed Protestant world will form a confederacy with the man of sin, and the church and the world will be in corrupt harmony. Here the great crisis is coming upon the world. The Scriptures teach that popery is to regain its lost supremacy, and that the fires of persecution will be rekindled through the time serving concessions of the so-called Protestant world” (General Conference Bulletin,  April 13, 1891).

For church and state to unite in order to promote Rome’s idea that

“no one is saved alone” is basically abandoning the true Christian faith. Error and apostasy will be the foundation for the coming global government. Yes, the world is coming together, but only to embrace falsehoods. Although the papacy appears to be triumphing as the world accepts its message (Revelation 18:7), the truth is that God’s judgments will surely follow this display of pride and arrogance. God’s word clearly says:

“Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.” Revelation 18:8." AdventMessenger

“The Word of God teaches that these scenes are to be repeated as papists and Protestants shall unite for the exaltation of the Sunday” (Great Controversy, p. 578). "On March 6, 2023, Christian Network Europe published an article titled, “Portuguese Catholics fight to bring back the work-free Sunday.” 

In the article, the Protestant news media stated that the Catholic

Workers League, Liga Operária Católica (LOC), wants to revive work-free Sundays because they say that “work-free Sunday is a necessary measure to protect the lives of families.....LOC also said that the day is intended to reflect on how twenty-first century consumption habits are infringing on the lives of both families and workers.” 

Here, we see Rome’s tentacles pulling the entire world toward Sunday rest by law. They are using terms like “infringing,” which are legal terms that describe acts that violate the law. This term is associated with the violation of someone’s legal or moral rights. 

Additionally, we see how the Protestant-owned Christian Network Europe is amplifying the call to secure Sunday rest through “work-free” measures. Catholics and Protestants are working together. Don’t be misled. This call to make Sunday “work-free” is an appeal to elected officials to enact laws securing Sunday rest."

"In an unprecedented flexing of military muscle, thousands of Portuguese soldiers surrounded the shrine of Fátima to

prevent pilgrims from entering the sanctuary of Our Lady. 

  Portugal's government launched Operation "Fátima at Home" Monday at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, stationing 3,500 troops from the National Republican Guard (GNR) to "monitor, sensitize and deter possible movements,

whether on foot or in a vehicle," GNR Director of Operations Vítor Rodrigues told Rádio Renascença.

Author of 30 books, de Mattei warned that "it was in Fátima [that the] the Blessed Virgin asked for private and public prayer and penance to ward off the punishments hanging over the world. The ban on Catholic faithful from publicly showing their devotion to Our Lady in her sanctuary brings the hour of these punishments closer, perhaps already begun with the Wuhan virus."
