Creation Moment 11/30/2016 - Cell City & SYP73
In the day that God created man,....
Genesis 5:1
"The findings, published in the current issue of Current Biology, reveal a new protein that keeps cellular cargo on track, quite literally. The discovery of SYP73, a plant protein, allowed the researchers to explain how the factory stuck to its track.
"Healthy cells operate as smoothly as the best Minecraft city imaginable," said Federica Brandizzi, MSU Foundation Professor of plant biology. "The miniature cities are fully equipped with all of the facilities, or organelles, that are necessary for a smooth-running operation."
Administration center, factories and even recycling centers are all there, running at 100-percent efficiency. In contrast to the infrastructures and city buildings in cells, however, the organelles, are not built on static foundations. They are huge, mobile cellular cargos that travel rapidly to reach resources and deliver products. When organelles go off the rails and mobility is disrupted, bad things happen.
"In human neurons, glitches in these movements result in severe neuro diseases," said Brandizzi, an MSU AgBioResearch scientist. "But before our paper, scientists had little idea about how the organelles moved on their tracks in plant cells beyond the conventional proteins that make up the cytoskeleton."
Brandizzi and her team of MSU scientists, focused on the largest factory in a cell -- the endoplasmic reticulum. Earlier studies had proven that the ER moved around the cell on a track, known as actin cytoskeleton propelled by myosin, structures that give cells their shape as well as serve as a rail and motor system at the molecular level.
Taking an interdisciplinary approach using elaborate microscopic and biochemical techniques, the team revealed where the cellular rubber hit the road.
"Scientists have been looking for this direct connection for many years," Brandizzi said. "Since SYP73, we find that this connection is crucial to plant development, and we can now seek new ways to increase plant yield through cell biology." ScientificDiscovery

Creation Moment 11/28/2016 - Quality Control = DESIGN (hence, a DESIGNER)
"The very idea that cells proofread their genetic information......One doesn't proofread gibberish. If
cells had cobbled together haphazard strings of building blocks, it wouldn't really matter in what order they were assembled. We know, of course, that the sequence matters: most mutations cause disease or death. Proofreading is evidence par excellence that genetic information represents real information, the kind found in books and software.
Cells inspect and correct their informational macromolecules at every stage: at transcription, at translation, and during post-translational modification. Roving molecular machines inspect other machines at work in the cell. They recognize misfolded proteins and tag them for degradation. And when the cell divides, molecular machines check every letter as DNA strands are duplicated. Cells are in the "quality control" business.
.....messenger RNA (mRNA) transcripts are read in sets of three letters (codons). Matching the mRNA codons are transfer RNA molecules (tRNA), each equipped with a matching "anticodon" at one end, and an amino acid at the other end (when fully loaded, they are called aminoacyl-tRNAs, or aa-tRNAs). As the codons and anticodons pair up in single file inside the ribosome, the amino acids fasten in single file with peptide bonds. The growing polypeptide chain will become a protein after translation is complete.
In short, proofreading needs to be energy efficient, but it won't happen without the expenditure of an energy-rich molecule to push it along. The reaction must favor getting the right molecule where it belongs.
Biochemists knew that each aa-tRNA has to be prepped for its role by binding to an assistant called Elongation Factor Tu (EF-Tu) plus a fuel molecule, GTP.
We have found that the bacterial ribosome uses two proofreading steps following initial selection of transfer RNAs (tRNAs) to maintain high accuracy of translation of the genetic code. This means that there are three selection steps for codon recognition by aa-tRNAs.
First, there is initial codon selection by aa-tRNA in ternary complex with elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) and GTP.
Second, there is proofreading of aa-tRNA in ternary complex with EF-Tu and GDP.
Third, there is proofreading of aa-tRNA in an EF-Tu−independent manner, presumably after dissociation of EF-Tu·GDP from the ribosome....
This should cause even more grief for neo-Darwinism, because it shows that single-step proofreading "normally is remarkably high." In essence, the cell double-checks its already-accurate translation. They actually use the word "rechecking" to describe it. They estimate it provides a million-fold increase in accuracy,...
Engineers understand concepts like backups, redundancy, double-checking, and quality control. They realize that there are tradeoffs between accuracy and speed, so they seek to optimize competing design requirements." CEH

To hold with the hare and run with the hounds
I will cut off them that worship and that swear by the Lord,
and that swear by Malcham.
Zephaniah 1:5
"Such persons thought themselves safe because they were with both parties:
they went with the followers of Jehovah, and bowed at the same time to Malcham.
But duplicity is abominable with God,
and hypocrisy His soul hateth.
has one sin less than he who brings his polluted and detestable sacrifice unto the temple of the Lord, while his heart is with the world and the sins thereof.
To hold with the hare and run with the hounds,
is a dastard's policy.
The penalty pronounced in the verse before us is terrible, but it is well deserved;
who knows the right,
approves it,
and professes to follow it,
and all the while loves the evil,
and gives it dominion in his heart?
God fills the whole universe, and hence there is no room for another god;
if, then, He reigns in my heart, there will be no space for another reigning power."
Charles Spurgeon
SDA Issues - Terry Rice Controversy / Heresy
* Below is from the rebellious RAG known as Spectrum magazine, a story about a man seeking ordination in the SDA Church who has come out as gay....OF COURSE HE SHOULD NOT BE ORDAINED.....WHY IS THIS EVEN OPEN FOR DEBATE WITHIN THE CHURCH? Please read
1 Corinthians 5 and replace it with any sexual immorality, and you will know what PAUL would say...
"Terry Rice, hospice chaplain in Walla Walla, Washington, finds his career on hold because the Adventist church has so far refused to acknowledge his calling through ordination.
I understand that the North American Division refuses to permit Adventist Chaplaincy
Ministries to endorse you because you are gay. What have you been told about that decision and the reasons behind it?
Last August, I went to support my chaplain colleague Jaci Cress who was being ordained (commissioned) at an Adventist hospital in town. The North American Division team performing the service took me aside. I was told that my “endorsement is in process.” When I asked for how long, the answer was “indefinitely” and that I “had no choice but to wait.”
Would you consider leaving the church? Or your job? What are your plans? Why do you stay?
We all are making choices. The church is making a choice to not do anything and stay silent. And this means “Go away." ....I love my church, but I love my Lord more. I love what He calls me to do more. If this means leaving my church to do His will, I will do it.
What is there about the Adventist church that makes you feel hopeful?
I know of many Adventist pastors who tell me privately that my orientation is a beautiful expression of God’s diverse creation. It starts with humbly learning God’s love and realizing “sola scriptura” doesn’t mean “sola hermeneutics.”
We Adventists also have an imperfect social justice history that has eventually sided in favor of inclusion. Our expression of Christianity is different enough for many progressives to remain in the church to some degree. Also, millennials teach us that sometimes we need not leave one tribe for another." spectrumRAG

Creation Moment 11/27/2016 - Whackiest Religion Accepted by Secular Atheists
"Big Science only forbids some religions, like those with evidence. The wacky ones pass right by the censors.
Defining “religion” is hard, but to Big Science, it generally means matters of faith unconstrained by evidence. Materialists don’t take Christian evidences seriously, such as the empty tomb of Jesus; those can be explained away by various rescue devices. Some unconstrained beliefs, though, have no problem getting published in scientific journals and on science news websites. One of the most bizarre is SETI: the belief in intelligent space aliens. Recent articles take that belief to new extremes. Let’s go from mild cases to what could only be described as paranoid.
Are aliens trying to tell us something? Brightest burst of radio waves detected (The Conversation): Carole Mundell takes a step beyond observation, wondering what certain radio waves are “telling us.” That depends on whether they emanate from sentient beings. Even advocates of intelligent design apply the Design Filter in these cases, giving preference to natural or chance causes before inferring design. Mundell speaks mostly about possible physical causes for the mysterious bursts, but ponders: “Nobody knows what causes these powerful bursts, but some have even speculated that the signals could be transmitted by distant alien civilisations.” The word could is a faith word.
If we find ET, don’t talk to it, says the man who wants to find ET (The Conversation): In this article, astronomer Charley Lineweaver and his friend Stephen Hawking speculate about the moral and intellectual traits of space aliens they have never seen. Judging from his beliefs about evolution, Lineweaver thinks aliens would most likely have evolved millions of years beyond us and would probably be hostile. His alien religion requires a kind of genuflection. He notes that Hawking thinks humans should keep their head low; “in the spectrum between, paranoia and unjustifiable fear on one side, and reasonable caution on the other, where does keeping your head low fit in?” Lineweaver concludes, “even if there aren’t any advanced alien civilisations elsewhere in the universe, keeping your head down is probably a good exercise in humility.”
Aliens are everywhere, says Ivy League professor (Fox News): This one takes the cake for wildest speculation we have ever seen concerning space aliens. Columbia astrophysicist Caleb Scharf is floating the idea that aliens have evolved so far ahead of humans, they have transmogrified themselves into the laws of nature and even subatomic particles that surround us:
The expert says our universe is the remains of intelligent alien life which controls all aspects of the physical world — from gravity to the speed of light.
The theory helps to explain the great mysteries of the cosmos and also answers why we are yet to find intelligent life beyond our planet, Professor Caleb Scharf says.…

“Perhaps hyper-advanced life isn’t just external. Perhaps it’s already all around”, he said.
“It is embedded in what we perceive to be physics itself.
“In other words, life might not just be in the equations. It might be the equations.”
The difference between Scharf’s alien-is-everything and the Christian doctrine of God’s omnipresence must be understood. To the Christian, God is the eternal first cause. Omnipresence is one of his attributes. To Scharf, material particles evolved into minds that took over. It’s the exact opposite: evolved materials turning themselves into masters of the universe. It’s the latest iteration of Satan’s old lie, “you shall be as gods. Genesis 3:5”

What were the Pilgrims Religious Beliefs?
Offer unto God thanksgiving;
Psalm 50:14
"John Robinson (1575-1625) was the pastor of the Pilgrims after their removal to Holland in 1607-8, and many of his writings survive--giving us a direct view of the Pilgrims religious beliefs and
theology.
The Pilgrims' separatist movement can be directly traced back to John Calvin (1509-1564) and Calvinism, from which also descends Puritanism and Presbyterianism. The Pilgrims' separatist movement sprung up from primarily Nottinghamshire, where Richard Clyfton and John Robinson, both Cambridge alumni, began their preaching. Beginning in 1604 with the ascention of King James I, the persecution of Protestants increased, and the members of Clyfton and Robinson's church had to meet secretly, and were hunted continually by authorities--and when caught, thrown in jail.
Predestination.
The Pilgrims believed that before the foundation of the world, God predestined to make the world, man, and all things. He also predestined, at that time, who would be saved, and who would be damned. Only those God elected would receive God's grace, and would have faith. There was nothing an individual could do during their life that would cause them to be saved (or damned), since God had already decided who was going to be saved before the creation of the world.
Sacraments and Popery.
To the Pilgrims, there were only two sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper. The other sacraments (Confession, Penance, Confirmation, Ordination, Marriage, Confession, Last Rites) of the Catholic and Anglican churches were inventions of man and were therefore not Holy. The Pilgrims opposed the mass, and considered marriage a civil affair (not a religious sacrament). The legitimacy of the pope, the saints, and the church hierarchy was rejected, as was the veneration of relics.
Infant Baptism.
The Pilgrims believed baptism was the sacrament which wiped away Original Sin, and was a covenant with Christ and his chosen people (as circumcision had been to God and the Israelites), and therefore children should be baptized as soon as practical.
Holy Days and Religious Holidays.
The Pilgrims faithfully observed the Sabbath, and did not work on Sunday. Even when the Pilgrims were exploring Cape Cod, to the Mayflower crew's dismay, they stopped everything and stayed in camp on Sunday to keep the Sabbaths. See: Mourt's Relation (1622), chapter 1. The Pilgrims did not celebrate religious holidays--Christmas and Easter being the prime examples. These holidays were invented by man to memorialize Jesus, and are not prescribed by the Bible and therefore cannot be Holy.

One of my ancestors was on the Mayflower- Samuel Fuller, who was raised by his uncle, Dr. Samuel Fuller, after the first winter when his parents died. |

Creation Moment 11/25/2016 - Calling for a "New Enlightenment"
"Of all the fads and foibles in the long history of human credulity,
scientism in all its varied guises — from fanciful cosmology to evolutionary epistemology and ethics — seems among the more dangerous, both because it pretends to be something very different from what it really is and because it has been accorded widespread and uncritical adherence.... One longs for a new Enlightenment to puncture the pretensions of this latest superstition."

GOSPEL GEM: Beatitudes
SYNERGY OF Matthew 5:1-12/Luke 6:20-23
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said,
Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek:
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do
hunger and thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted
for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad:
for great is your reward in heaven:
for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

PAUL Adds - ...but be gentle unto all men,... 2 Timothy 2:24
"Of the poor in spirit Jesus says, "Theirs is the kingdom of heaven." This kingdom is not, as Christ's hearers had hoped, a temporal and earthly dominion. Christ was opening to men the spiritual kingdom of His love, His grace, His righteousness. The ensign of the Messiah's reign is distinguished by the likeness of the Son of man."

"....post-infant humans are unique in possessing precise mathematical cognition. Historically, what is known as the Triple Code model of numeric processing has
hypothesized that symbolic, verbal, and abstract processing – for example, simple visual recognition of a numeral, determining the larger of two numerals, and verbal naming of a numeral, respectively – occur in well-defined coupled brain regions, all or some of which interact. Recently, however, scientists employing electrocorticography (ECoG) electrophysiological recording – in which electrodes are placed directly on the exposed surface of the brain's cerebral cortex – not only reconfirmed math-selective hubs within the lateral parietal cortex (LPC) and ventral temporal cortex (VTC), but more significantly found what they describe as a remarkable diversity of neural responses within each region at both millimeter and millisecond scales.
The study's results suggested the presence of what appears to be a temporally- and functionally-synchronized and anatomically selective numerical cognition system. "Just as language processing is associated with a brain network engaged during different aspects of language – for example, visual, semantic and phonetic components –
we've identified a brain network for numerical cognition which appears to be involved in processes such as the visual recognition of numerals and arithmetic computations." Daitch explains. She notes that the posterior inferior temporal gyrus (pITG) region of the VTC, which is selective to numerical/mathematical processing, is anatomically distinct from other VTC regions that may be selective for the processing of letters and words, and moreover exhibited anatomically selective functional coupling – during both mathematical tasks and at rest – with an area of the parietal lobe associated with processing quantity.
...heterogeneous subpopulations within the VTC and LPC appeared to be engaged in distinct bidirectional loops between these regions during different stages of arithmetic computations."

Papal Notes - Wow!
"More than half of evangelical pastors say Pope Francis is their brother in Christ.
More than one-third say they value the pope's view on theology, and 3 in 10 say he has improved their view of the Catholic Church.
Those are among the findings of a new study of 1,000 Protestant senior pastors, released this week from Nashville-based LifeWay Research.
Overall, the survey found that many Protestant pastors have taken a liking to Pope Francis.
Nearly 4 in 10 say the pope, known for his humility and concern for the poor, has had a positive impact on their opinions of the Catholic Church. Almost two-thirds view Pope Francis as a genuine Christian and “brother in Christ.”
“Our sample itself—Protestant pastors—is named after the Protestant Reformation, so they are particularly interesting to survey,” said Ed Stetzer, executive director of LifeWay Research. “And the survey says that this pope does, indeed, have a ‘Francis effect,’ even on a group of people named for protesting the very faith the pope leads.”
While 80 percent of mainline Protestant pastors believe the pope is a true Christian, only 58 percent of evangelical pastors agree.
“Within a few centuries, the pope has gone from anti-Christ to ‘brother in Christ’ for a lot of Protestants.”
In an editorial for CT this week, evangelical pastor Chris Castaldo argued that among Protestants and Catholics, disagreement over religious authority and salvation fades as piety trumps doctrine.
Most Northeastern pastors (53%) also say they value the pope’s opinions on theological matters, a view shared by fewer than half of pastors in the Midwest (45%), South (39%), and West (38%)." CT
....and all the world wondered after the beast.
Revelation 13:3
What does a "Zonkey" have to do with Noah?
...and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
Genesis 7:2
"In April 2014, a male ‘zonkey’ with a donkey father and zebra mother was born at a Mexican zoo—an indication that such animals are descendants of an originally created horse (equine) ‘kind’ (Genesis 1:25).
This means Noah didn’t need to take on board the Ark two zebras, two donkeys, two Shetland ponies, etc.—rather, he only needed two ‘horses’ (Genesis 6:20)." CMI
Evil vs. Free Will
"The apparent conflict is often repeated in the false logic “If God loves the world and is all powerful, why would He allow evil?”
Simply put, the answer is this: God is love; God loves mankind;
love requires that a choice be made; choice allows for the possible rejection of God’s unilateral love. God, therefore, created humanity with the ability to positively respond to His love—or to consciously reject His offer of love." ICR
God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,... and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
