The Melchizedek Priesthood SERIES: Intro

For this
Melchisedec, king of Salem,
priest of the most high God,
who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings,
and blessed him;
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all;
first being by interpretation King of righteousness,
and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother,
without descent,
having neither beginning of days,
nor end of life;
but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
Hebrews 7:1-3

"The name is composed from the two elements: melek(h), 'king', and ṣedeq, which means either 'righteousness' or the proper name Zedek. With the addition of the hiriq compaginis ( indicating the archaic construct form, malk-ī means 'king of', so that the name literally translates to 'king of righteousness'. wiki

"THE priesthood of the worldly Sanctuary of the first covenant belonged to the sons of Levi; but that of the heavenly, of the better covenant, to the Son of God.
He fulfills both the Priesthood of Melchizedek and Aaron. In some respects the Priesthood of Christ resembles that of Melchizedek; and in others that of Aaron or Levi.

1. He was “made a High Priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” Order: taxis, signifies “series, succession.” Christ, like Melchizedek, had no priestly descent of pedigree. He never followed nor will have a successor in office
And because He continues ever, has an unchangeable Priesthood, “which passes not from one to another.”
The Priesthood of Levi to be continuous had many and a succession of priests, “because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death.”

2. Being after the order of Melchizedek, He is superior to the sons of Levi; because He blessed and received tithes from them in Abraham.

3. He is King and Priest; a King by birth, being from the tribe of Judah, and a Priest by the oath of His Father

4. Being Himself perfect, and His priesthood unending, He is able to “perfect forever” and “save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them.”

The Levitical Priesthood He was not called after the order of Aaron;
i.e. not in his succession; but this does not at all prove that the Priesthood of Aaron was not typical of the Priesthood of Christ.
Paul distinctly shows that it is. After calling upon us to...
Hebrews 3:1...consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession [or religion], Christ Jesus,–He lays the foundation of the investigation by drawing the analogy between Moses over his house [oikos, “people”] and Christ over His.

Hebrews 5:4...as was Aaron. Like Aaron and his sons, He took upon Him flesh and blood, the seed of Abraham, Hebrews 4:15 ...was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin, Hebrews 2:10 ...[was made] perfect through suffering."

Creation Moment 11/1/2025 - This Witness of Creation

"Atheists say there is no evidence for the existence of God.
When presented with intelligent design arguments, atheists will often point to disease, mutations, and natural disasters that destroy life and the environment. They say something like, “What kind of God would make a world like this?”

The Biblical text most relevant to these questions is Romans 1:18–20. There the Apostle Paul writes,
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
For what can be known about God is plain to them,
because God has shown it to them.
For His invisible attributes,
 namely, His eternal power and divine nature,
have been clearly perceived,
ever since the creation of the world,
in the things that have been made.
So they are without excuse.

Paul tells us that some things can be known about the unseen God from the things He has made. He is eternal. He is powerful. His divine nature is personal, not impersonal.

In Romans 2:14–16, Paul adds that God is a moral being, who has
written His moral law in the conscience of every person. Even if a person has never seen or heard the written words of God given through the Old and New Testament authors, that person knows certain behaviors are right and others are wrong.

Paul also says this witness of creation to God’s existence and his nature has been seen by people “ever since the creation of the world” (Romans 1:20). It has been seen by all people at all times and in all places.

Approximately another 1,000 years before David (about 2000 BC), Job (Job 12:7–12) in poetic language, he commands us to study nature.
All these creatures nonverbally communicate that God is the source of their life and our’s and is the wise sovereign who guides and governs all these things
As we study plants and animals and people, many of God’s attributes are revealed by the mind-boggling complexity of the DNA molecule, the amazing design and function of living creatures, the beautiful ecosystems, and the wonder of men and women made in the image of the Creator."
