Count Zinzendorf & the Sabbath

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:

"Scattered and torn by persecution, the old sect of Moravian Brethren wandered about till about the year 1720 Count Zinzendorf invited them to his estate, later called Herrnhut. He began to keep the Sabbath, and became the leader of these Brethren and the head of a great missionary movement. Bishop A. G. Spangenberg says of him: 

"He loved to stick to the plain text of the Scriptures, believing that rather simplicity than art is required to understand it. When he found anything in the Bible stated in such plain language that a child could understand, he could not well bear to have one depart from it"–"Leben des Grafen Zinzendorf" (Life of Count Zinzendorf), pp. 3, 546, 547, 1774. 

In 1738 Zinzendorf wrote of his keeping the Sabbath thus: "That I

have employed the Sabbath for rest many years already, and our Sunday for the proclamation of the gospel–that I have done without design, and in simplicity of heart." –"Budingsche Sammlung," Sec. 8, p. 224. Leipzig:1742. 

                

Spangenberg gives some of Zinzendorf's reasons for keeping the seventh day holy: 

"On the one hand, he believed that the seventh day was sanctified and set apart as a rest day immediately after creation; but on the other hand, and principally, because his eyes were directed to the rest of our Savior Jesus Christ in the grave on the seventh day."–"Leben des Grafen Zinzendorf" pp. 5, 1422, note.

In 1741 he journeyed to Bethlehem, Pa., where some Moravian Brethren had settled. Of his work there Spangenberg relates: 

"As a special instance it deserves to be noticed that he is resolved with the church at Bethlehem to observe the seventh day as rest day. The matter had been previously considered by the church council in all its details, and all the reasons pro and con were carefully weighed, whereby they arrived at the unanimous agreement to keep the said day as Sabbath"–Id., pp. 5, 1421, 1422. (See also "Varnhagen yon Ense Biographische Denkmale," pp. 5, 301. Berlin:1846.

The church records of the Bethlehem Moravian Church (now in the Moravian Seminary archives, and dated June 13 O.S., or June 24 N. S., 1742) has this paragraph: "The Sabbath is to be observed in quietness and in fervent communion with the Savior. It is a day that was given to all nations according to the law for rest, for the Jews observed it not so much as Jews as human beings."

Creation Moment 4/30/2019 - No Evolution Seen

A current leading evolutionist, Jeffrey Schwartz, professor of anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh, has recently acknowledged that:

. . . it was and still is the case that, ... the formation of a new species, by any mechanism, has never been observed.

The scientific method traditionally has required experimental observation and replication.

The fact that macroevolution (as distinct from microevolution) has never been observed would seem to exclude it from the domain of true science.
Even Ernst Mayr, the dean of living evolutionists, longtime professor of biology at Harvard, who has alleged that evolution is a "simple fact," nevertheless agrees that it is an "historical science" for which "laws and experiments are inappropriate techniques" by which to explain it. One can never actually see evolution in action."

There is a distinction between recreation and amusement.
Recreation, when true to its name, re-creation, tends to strengthen and build up. 

Amusement, on the other hand, is sought for the sake of pleasure and is often carried to excess; it absorbs the energies that are required for useful work and thus proves a hindrance to life's true success.  
Even when the child is old enough to attend school, his health should be regarded as of greater importance than a knowledge of books.
By pursuing one line of thought exclusively, the mind often becomes unbalanced.
Physical inaction lessens not only mental but moral power. The brain nerves that connect with the whole system are the medium through which heaven communicates with man and affects the inmost life. Whatever hinders the circulation of the electric current in the nervous system, thus weakening the vital powers and lessening mental susceptibility, makes it more difficult to arouse the moral nature.   
The misuse or nonuse of the physical powers is largely responsible for the tide of corruption that is overspreading the world. Pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness (Ezekiel 16:49) are as deadly foes to human progress in this generation as when they led to the destruction of Sodom.  

Relief of the Flood

SDA Issues - EASILY Debunking Ford

"We are going to show the clear, Biblical cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary, the heavenly Day of Atonement and the judgment.

Dr. Desmond Ford said in his 1,000 page thesis which he presented

during his trial at Glacier View that you can’t find any of these teachings in the Bible.
Dr. Ford either didn’t want to see them or he was being intellectually dishonest because they are in the Bible.
Let’s look at them.

In Hebrews chapters 8 and 9 Paul is contrasting the differences between the earthly sanctuary and its services with the heavenly realities. ....in Hebrews 8:5 how the earthly sanctuary was a pattern of the heavenly sanctuary. We also saw in Leviticus 16:16, 19 how the earthly sanctuary was cleansed (purified) with blood. With this in mind let’s allow God’s own word to debunk all the lies of the New Theology.

“Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.” Hebrews 9:21.

On what day was the tabernacle and its vessels sprinkled with blood? On the Day of Atonement, which is synonymous with the cleansing of the sanctuary and the judgment. This is all clear. There is no ambiguity as to what day this is. We already saw the three events that take place on the same day.

 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Hebrews 9:22.

It was the blood of animal sacrifices that purified the earthly sanctuary in Leviticus 16. Read the entire chapter. Now that we have established the context, let’s look at the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary. This next verse is one of many Bible verses that invalidates Ford’s theories:

“It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.” Hebrews 9:23.

Let’s look at this verse very closely. There are two sanctuaries, one

earthly and one heavenly. Which one was a “pattern of the things in heaven” – the earthly sanctuary or the heavenly one? Obviously the earthly. What was the earthly sanctuary purified with? The blood of animal sacrifices. The first part of this verse is basically saying:
“It was necessary that the earthy sanctuary be purified with animal sacrifices”

Now let’s look at the next part of verse 23. It says “But the heavenly things,” which sanctuary is the “heavenly things?” That’s the heavenly sanctuary! What is the heavenly sanctuary purified with?
The verse continues saying “with better sacrifices than these.” What is the better sacrifice? Obviously the blood of Jesus. What does the word “these” represent which are less superior than the blood of Jesus? The blood of animal sacrifices. The second part of Hebrews 9:23 is basically saying:
“But the heavenly sanctuary is purified with the blood of Jesus”


So when will this happen? Ford and the Evangelicals say this all took place in 31 AD, if at all. Let’s allow the scriptures to speak for itself. In verse 26 we are given the timing of this event.

“For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world. But now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” Hebrews 9:24-26.

At what time of earth’s history will the cleaning of the heavenly sanctuary take place and the anti-typical Day of Atonement? In 31 AD? No. Paul says this will all take place “in the end of the world.” Jesus is going to put away sin by his own sacrifice at the “end of the world.” That’s how the sequence concludes as you follow this important theme of the cleaning of the heavenly sanctuary in Hebrews 9:21-26.

This text corroborates what we are told in Daniel 8:14. Daniel’s 2,300 day prophecy takes us into the time of the end. Hebrew 9:26 is a text that Desmond Ford and the Evangelicals can’t explain because the end of the world is not in 31 AD.

These texts describe Christ’s final atonement that will take place in the heavenly sanctuary during the “end of the world.”

However, if you want to know specifically when this work will begin you have to turn to Daniel 8:14. Daniel 8:14 tells you what year the work of cleansing begins – 1844 – and this coincides with being “in the end of the world” (Hebrews 9:26) or at the time of the end.
What about the judgment? Well, notice what the very next verse says, 27:

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27.

Here Paul links together the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary, the Day of Atonement and the judgment and puts them at the time of the end.

It’s not a coincidence because these three events are synonymous. All these events will take place “in the end of the world” (Hebrews 9:27). Daniel 8:14 tell us exactly when it all begins. It’s a prophetic day that pinpoints the cleaning of the heavenly sanctuary during the last days and the final work of atonement while the investigative judgment is taking place.
The very next verse says:

“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:28.

How can we miss this? Paul sets again the timing for this event – the period just before the second coming of Jesus. Paul also links the second coming of Christ to these themes. This was nowhere near 31 AD, and this is not talking about a third coming of Christ, as the Evangelicals believe.
Evangelical theology believes in a secret rapture first and then the third coming of Christ to the world. Paul makes it clear that when human probationary period ends for everyone, Christ will come again the second time, not a third time. At Christ’s coming He will have a glorious church, without spot and wrinkle."

Johannes Bugenhagen of the Reformation

As a Biblical scholar, Bugenhagen devoted most of his intellectual energy to lecturing on Scripture. He would publish a number of commentaries in subsequent years.

His most famous, a 1524 commentary on the Psalms, grew out of his early lectures at Wittenberg and went through numerous printings.
His other commentaries included the minor letters of Paul (published 1525), Romans (1527), the Gospel of Matthew (1543), Jeremiah (1546), and Jonah (1550).

Two other contributions to the Protestant use of Scripture were notable. In 1524, Bugenhagen transposed Luther’s German New Testament into Low German—ahead of the publication of Luther’s own version—and his reading would become popular and widely printed.
He also composed a harmony of the passion narrative drawn from the four Gospels. He had begun the task as early as 1519 at Belbuck, but he would resume it again in 1522 at Wittenberg and see it through to publication in 1524. The harmony became enormously influential in Protestant private and corporate devotion through the centuries.

Bugenhagen’s most significant contribution to the Reformation undoubtedly resulted from his role as a church administrator."

Q: Don't you think a clip of supposedly bringing a dead baby back to life would of been of more interest?...yeah, but obviously it never happened....come on people quit believing this nonsense.

"Pastor Thar Tun was kidnapped from his home in Rakhine state, Myanmar (Burma) on 13 February by Buddhist militants thought to be members of the Arakan Army (AA).

Pastor Tun, 56, who has five children, is the second pastor to be kidnapped in Myanmar in less than a month. It is thought that the pastor’s work helping refugees in his home town of Buthidaung made him a target.
On 19 January, Pastor Tun Nu, 41, was kidnapped at gunpoint in Rakhine state by militants also thought to be members of AA. He was reported killed on 1 February alongside several others held captive, but his body has not been found.
At the time of Pastor Tun Nu’s abduction, witnesses described the AA as “truly brutal” and had warned that more abductions of Christians were likely because their missionary work made them a target."

Lanter was indicted by a grand jury on April 12 and entered a plea of not guilty. He is free after posting a $100,000 bail.
Reverend Monsignor John T. Myler, spokesman for the Belleville Diocese, confirmed that Lanter was the Diocesan Deacon Coordinator at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church in Belleville. Lanter had been a permanent deacon with the St. Luke parish since 1997.
Myler said the parish received Lanter's resignation on Thursday. He also said the victim was not a parishioner."

“They are good God-gifted people. Citizens like us. We should stand by them,” he added.

Creation Moment 4/29/2019 - Creation Groaning on Moon

"The moon loses more water than it receives from the solar wind or meteorites. How long has that been going on?
Data analyzed from the LADEE mission, which orbited the moon 2013-2014 measuring the thin lunar atmosphere, has revealed

something interesting: meteor impacts blast water out of the deep soil, where most of it is lost to space, never to return. Water? Yes; the moon has some. Lunar soil is drier than any soil on Earth, but it does retain some H₂O and OH^– (hydroxyl) ions, which chemists designate as water. Some water molecules can form from reactions with the solar wind.
There’s more water three inches down (the “hydrated layer”) than in the top portion (“dessicated layer”) of regolith (lunar soil that has been “gardened” by small meteorites), so only larger meteors penetrate where the water is.
Nevertheless, water escape is a continuous process: When a stream of meteoroids rains down on the lunar surface, the liberated water will enter the exosphere and spread through it. About two-thirds of that vapor escapes into space, but about one-third lands back on the surface of the Moon.
Not enough water can be made by the solar wind, the researchers state, meaning that most of it must have already been there since the moon’s formation, or was delivered by impactors:

“We know that some of the water must be coming from the Moon, because the mass of water being released is greater than the water mass within the meteoroids coming in,” said the second author of the paper, Dana Hurley of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
The analysis indicates that meteoroid impacts release water faster than it can be produced from reactions that occur when the solar wind hits the lunar surface.
“The water being lost is likely ancient, either dating back to the formation of the Moon or deposited early in its history,” said Benna.

In short, the moon is losing its tenuous water faster than it is receiving it or making it. Has this been the case for the moon’s history?"

Tea and coffee, condiments, confectionery, and pastries are all active causes of indigestion. Flesh food also is harmful.

Christology and the Antichrist

"In an article written by J. B. Conley, he shows how the teaching that insists that Christ came in the nature of Adam before his fall is connected to the antichrist.
He wrote: “The Scriptures have placed the identity of antichrist beyond either guesswork or confusion. The Bible has clearly named the guilty one. John says that he denies that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. 2 John 7. Let this be the first mark of antichrist by which his identity will be placed beyond dispute."

Far from denying the existence of Christ, the text suggests that antichrist teaches that Christ has come but teaches a doctrine about His coming which denies that He has come in the flesh. If the Catholic Church is guilty as the Protestant Reformers claimed her to be, then her teaching concerning the nature of Jesus in His incarnation into this world as a babe will reveal it.

The Bible teaches that Jesus was born into the world through Mary who was a direct descendent of Adam. By inheritance she partook of Adam’s nature.
Adam’s nature was mortal and subject to death as a result of the transgression of God’s will in Eden. His flesh was by nature that of the children of wrath.
Mary partook of this nature in all of its aspects. She was a representative of the whole human race and in no way different from others descendent from Adam’s line.

She was favored among women only because she was the one chosen of God through whom the mystery of godliness was to be made manifest and through whom Jesus was to be brought from heaven where He had been one with the Father in the Godhead to be born into the human family, there to partake of all the temptations to which Adam’s race is subject.
This was possible only as He would partake of the nature of Adam’s race. Of this Paul says, ‘For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same;. . . Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren.’ Hebrews 2:14–17.

 In 1 Timothy 3:16, records, ‘Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh.’

The ability of Jesus to come from heaven,

suffer Himself to be manifest in human flesh

and yet to live sinlessly.

This latter fact antichrist was to deny. He was to deny that Jesus came in a divine manifestation which brought Him in all phases of His nature to partake of the weaknesses of Adam’s race. He would deny that Jesus came in the flesh, the same flesh as that of mortal men.

On this first count, the denial that Jesus is come in the flesh, the

Catholic Church stands convicted of guilt and thus is identified by the marks of antichrist.

"In its full-court press for globalism and international migration, the Vatican insists on describing nationalism in exclusively negative terms, opening its “Concept Note” for its May 1-3 conference by saying that the world “is facing today a growing threat of nationalist revival,” which “leads to mutual rejection and enduring conflicts.”

The Pontifical Academy has apparently decided ahead of its conference that nationalism will be treated as the enemy, rather than looking at both sides of the issue and the root causes of growing interest in national sovereignty.
Facile recourse to accusations of xenophobia and racism is always easier than honest debate.

“We witness a worrying tendency of nations or nation states to close themselves, insisting on their supposed interests,” it states. “Globalization and migrations inspire the fear that nations could lose their cultural identity and their political independence.”

“In the present stage of its development, humanity disposes of all possible technical means to organize itself in a cooperative and peaceful way,” the text declares, in thinly veiled code for a shift toward supranational governance. “Yet the minds are still shaped by stereotypes of exclusion of the ‘other.’”

“Challenges like ecology, particularly climate change, human trafficking, energy, defence, regulation of the globalized economy cannot be dealt with by competing sovereign national states alone,” the document reads. “The European Union is an example of what could become a supranational state with precise and limited sovereignty in matters of European common good.”

"Genesis 4:22: "Zillah (wife of Lamech) bore Tubal-cain; he was the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron."
In many societies the child is son of the mother, not the father.

Thus Tubal-cain was also known as Barzillah. The word for iron in both Hebrew and Sumerian could be a link back to the son of Zillah.....there is the interesting fact that the last part of the name,
Tubal-cain, is the Hebrew word for smith. Another way of spelling Cain is Ken. Ken is a form of the Hebrew word for a copper spear, and the Kenites were a tribe of wandering smiths who made Implements of metal (Horizon, 2:2, November 1959, p. 9).
Thus we have linguistic paths leading back to Tubal-cain, the first metalsmith, .... The line of Cain and Tubal-cain ended at the Flood, but we can infer that Noah and his sons collected the technology of the Pre-Flood world, including metallurgy, and then taught it to their descendants in the Post-Flood age."

The laws that govern our physical organism, God has written upon every nerve, muscle, and fiber of the body.  
That the life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment (Luke 12:23), is a lesson no less needed now than when given by the divine Teacher eighteen hundred years ago.  

Daniel 8: From Sabbath to Day of Atonement

"Daniel 8 is worth looking at more closely. The entire chapter is filled with sanctuary imagery that is specifically related to the Day of Atonement.

To mention just a few:
--The ram and the he-goat (Dan 8:3-8) were the two animals specially involved on the Day of Atonement (Lev 16:5).
--The reference to the “rebellion” (pesha‘) of the little horn (Dan 8:12, 13) uses a word found in connection with the sanctuary services only in Leviticus 16 (vv. 16, 21).

--The word for “the sanctuary” (qodesh) in v. 14 links the vision of these verses to the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16 where the same word is used repeatedly for the Most Holy Place (Lev 16:2, 3 16, 17, 20, 23, 27, 33).
--The word nitsdaq (“cleanse, restore”) in v. 14 is uniquely suited to cover the scope of what Christ’s Day of Atonement ministry in heaven accomplishes.
--The description of the 2,300 “days” as “evening-morning” units points to the days of creation in Genesis 1 which are also described as evening-morning units (Gen 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31).

The connection of the cleansing of the sanctuary with Genesis 1-2 is significant because Creation Week culminated with total rest on the seventh day. Thus God blessed the Sabbath and made it holy. The only other day on which total rest is commanded in the Bible, besides the weekly Sabbath, is the Day of Atonement when the sanctuary was cleansed!"
