"Paul also points out that mankind is really acting as the ultimate authority by worshipping man-made gods when he says, “We ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked.”
Lastly, Paul gives the call to repent and presents the gospel. 

He mentioned that God confirmed this 

to all by the resurrection of Jesus.

But now He commands all people everywhere to repent, because

He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed; and of this He has given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:30–31)
It was at this point that Scripture says, “Some mocked” (Acts 17:32). This would have included the Epicureans, who (like the Sadducees) did not believe in a bodily resurrection."

Papal Notes - Traditions of Men

"Pope Leo XIV addressed visitors from around the world on the relationship between Scripture and tradition. In his remarks, the Pope reaffirmed the long-standing Roman Catholic principle that church tradition stands on the same level as—if not above—the Holy

Scriptures. 

This position stands in direct contrast to historic Protestant belief, which holds that when tradition becomes a second authority in the church, it gains the power to reinterpret, correct, or even override what God Himself has written, making the final judge of truth no longer God’s Word but fallible men who claim the authority to define tradition.

The Holy See Press Office published the following statement from Pope Leo XIV:
• “Today we will reflect on the relationship between Sacred Scripture and Tradition.”
• “It is what the Second Vatican Council affirms, using an evocative image: ‘There exists a close connection and communication between sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture. For both of them, flowing from the same divine wellspring, in a certain way merge into a unity and tend toward the same end.”
• “The Council affirms that ‘this tradition which comes from the Apostles develops in the Church with the help of the Holy Spirit.”

• “Sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture form one sacred deposit of the word of God, committed to the Church, interpreted by the living teaching office of the Church, whose authority is exercised in the name of Jesus Christ.”
• “Scripture and Tradition … are so linked and joined together that they cannot stand independently, and together, each in their own way, under the action of the one Holy Spirit, they contribute effectively to the salvation of souls.”

When human tradition is treated as authoritative, it can supersede and effectively nullify God’s commandments by substituting His clear instructions with man-made rules. Jesus Himself rebuked religious leaders for elevating human tradition in a way that set aside the Word of God:
“For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men.” 

Mark 7:8.

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” 

Mark 7:13.

“But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” 

Matthew 15:9.

When tradition is viewed as equal to the Holy Scriptures, it becomes a rival rule of faith—an alternate standard that many end up following instead of submitting to what God’s Word actually teaches."

Lisbon Earthquake and Opening of the 6th Seal

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; Revelation 6:12

Lisbon earthquake of 1755. 

That disaster resulted in uncountable numbers of deaths since it also triggered a tsunami which affected vast swathes of the Lisbon hinterland. 

Just as destructive as the physical carnage was the toll it took on people’s hearts and minds, as Voltaire recognized.

Voltaire was to exploit the notorious event first in his Poème sur le Désastre de Lisbonne, written in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, and again in his famous anti-clerical satire, Candide."

Creation Moment 2/1/2026 - Geometry and zygotic genome activation

"The findings, published in Nature Physics, demonstrate that the geometry of the fertilized egg itself, i

ncluding its curvature and volume, acts as an “instruction manual” guiding asymmetric cell divisions, mitotic waves, and zygotic genome activation. 

This study by Mishra et al. (2026) builds on earlier research on

Drosophila which identified “geometry as a key organizer of mechanical force generation during morphogenesis.” However, this new study found even more detailed evidence that geometry also plays a role in the development of larger-scale processes in development, for example, coordinated cell divisions and embryo patterning.

This discovery offers a compelling glimpse into yet another example of the fine-tuned processes woven into nature and raises even more profound questions for evolutionary explanations of life’s origin, highlighting the remarkable precision and order that underlie living systems.
