Creation Moment 7/30/2025 - Whale Valley: Whale of a Tale

"In a captivating headline published in Live Science on 4 July 2025, evolutionists take flood evidence and transform the narrative into supposed ‘evidence’ for evolution. 

The article by Sascha Pare, entitled: ‘Whale Valley: The whale

graveyard in the Sahara desert that shows they once had feet and toes’ bypasses the obvious question about how a well-preserved fossil graveyard formed in the world’s largest hot desert, to instead attempting to make the case that homologous structures in the whale pelvic region demonstrate a history of evolution. 

Q: But what do the whale graveyards really show?

Well-Preserved Fossils Suggest Rapid Burial
Referencing a feature on the website of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the authors state that:

“These skeletons and other marine fossils date to the late Eocene epoch (55.8 million to 33.9 million years ago), when present-day Egypt was submerged beneath the Tethys Ocean and whales had just evolved into sea creatures, according to UNESCO.”

According to palaeoclimate reconstruction based on evolutionary

interpretations, the Tethys Ocean began to shrink between 7-11 million years ago, during the Tortonian stage of the Late Miocene. This was supposedly triggered from the gradual collision between the African and Eurasian plates resulting in the closure of the West Tethys Seaway. These changes in land-ocean coverage supposedly resulted in atmospheric changes connected with the region, resulting in the weakening of the African Summer Monsoon.

As the story goes, this change further reduced rainfall in the region, compounding upon the lost sea, and expanding aridity in the region. Deducing from the estimated time frame, this process would have supposedly taken around 4 million years for the aridification of the region, forming what we know today as the Sahara Desert, estimated to have finally formed between 2-3 million Darwin Years before present—or even as early as 7 million years ago, according to Science (2006).

Unasked Questions

Q: With such a gradual process of ocean shrinkage and coupled atmospheric feedback taking around 4 million years, just how would 400 whale skeletons become fossilized? 

Q: With gradual ocean shrinkage, wouldn’t whales have just migrated and for those that did not, wouldn’t their remains have rotted with the ebbs and flows of the slowly retreating sea? 

---This provides strong evidence that these fossils in Whale Valley formed due to catastrophic processes rather than from ocean shrinkage and the slow process of the aridification of the desert.

The environmental conditions associated with the evolutionary story just does not fit with fossil formation we observe in the Sahara.

Further support for a global catastrophe comes from the variety of well-preserved organisms found. Quoting from the Live Science article:

“In 2005, paleontologists uncovered a stunningly preserved, near-
complete B. isis skeleton, prompting UNESCO to list Whale Valley as a World Heritage site. Since then, plenty more fossils have emerged, including the remains of ancient Eocene turtles, bony fishes, sharks, rays, crocodiles, sea cows and shellfish, according to the review.”

Q: Could gradual environmental change feasibly result in ‘stunning preservation’ of these organisms?
Beyond the evolutionary story of a localized oceanic shrinkage leading to the whale graveyard, the authors zoomed in on a curious structure found in whale skeletons as supposed evidence that they had legs. The evolutionary narrative holds that these bones are vestigial – merely remnants of an evolutionary past, ‘proving’ that whales are evolutionary ancestors. 

Q: But are these bones really vestigial? Is the evolutionary allegation really a watertight argument?
---Despite this claim of vestigiality, other evolutionary literature over the past decade has independently demonstrated that whales’ pelvic structures actually perform useful functions, including but not limited to anchoring reproductive organs and providing structural support for both reproductive and digestive systems. While evolutionists may attempt to justify functionality as a claim of ‘exaptations’ (suggesting changes in function over time), this is a philosophical claim, not a scientific one. As with the overall theory, this narrative once again highlights how evolutionists insist on reading history into the structure without direct evidence of such transitions.

As Dr. Bergman recently wrote, commenting on the Live Science article:

“…the animal discovered and reported by Pare in Live Science found in Whale Valley was not actually a whale, but rather a dolphin-like creature known as Archaeoceti, which measured about eight meters in length—significantly smaller than the average modern whale, which typically reaches around 27 meters length, making it roughly 3.4 times longer than Archaeoceti.”

By attempting to construct a coherent narrative, evolutionists often

make philosophical connections from fragmentary evidence to fit the story they seek to tell. Once again, this is far from being the scientific method, as this would mean any observation would have an a priori interpretation. Each observation would be used to support their favored narrative by default, rather than explore alternative interpretations.
While we encourage qualified scientists to continue highlighting flawed reasoning and other ‘whales’ of tales, we must restore scientific enquiry to its original intent of an open search for truth." Dr. Sarah Buckland-Reynolds

Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus.

"Blue is one of the rarest colors in the animal world, and blue sharks get their striking blue color from nanostructures working together in their dermal denticles (a special type of skin design that looks like

teeth, which is why sharks feel like sandpaper). Guanine crystals reflect blue light, while melanosomes absorb other colors. Environmental pressures change the intensity of the effects of both of these structures. When sharks swim deeper, the nanostructures compress, making the sharks darker to camouflage in the deep. When sharks swim toward the surface, the nanostructures spread out, making the sharks lighter. When the denticles drift closer, they look bluer. Now, sharks are believed by evolutionists to be some of the oldest organisms on the planet (predating trees and even the North Star in their worldview), first arriving in the oceans 400 million years ago. And, over the hundreds of millions of years, they’ve barely changed! They forgot to evolve! Yes, in the evolutionary worldview, in nearly half a billion years, earth saw massive changes to the temperature, topography, chemical makeup, and life forms in the oceans—but sharks forgot to evolve. What nonsense.

"The rainy weather did not prevent Blanca Servín from dressing her 7-year-old son like a bird. They joined a procession honoring St. Francis Solanus, the patron saint of a town in Paraguay about 20 miles from the capital city of Asunción.

Like her child, dozens of Catholics in Emboscada wear elaborate feathered garments each July 24. Dressing up is a ritual aimed at fulfilling promises made to the Spanish friar, who was a missionary in South America during the 16th century and is believed to grant miracles.
“I couldn’t have children,” Servín said. “I underwent several treatments and when I finally got pregnant and my child was born, the doctors said he would barely live for a few days.”
She then prayed to St. Francis Solanus and made a promise many parishioners make: If you do this for me, I will honor you on your feast day for seven years.
“My son is almost 7, and I have kept my promise,” Servín said. “But we will keep coming.”

Participants dressing up in feather garments are known as “promisers.” As part of the rituals, they cover their faces, imitate birds and distort their voices when speaking.
St. Francis is remembered as a missionary who evangelized the Indigenous people through music. The first church in his honor was erected in the 1930s. As parishioners increased, a new building was built later.
López said that participants use up to 30 hens, guinea fowls and

geese to craft their costumes. “These garments represent what people used to wear in ancient times,” he added. “Gala suits were made with what nature provided: birds.”
Processions and dances honoring St. Francis start on July 22. The night before the feast day, a local family takes home a wooden figure depicting the friar in order to decorate it for the festivities.
On July 24, promisers and parishioners attend Mass at the St. Francis chapel, then lead a procession and end up dancing in front of the church.
According to historian Ana Barreto, the ancient context of the feast is as fascinating as the feast itself. It is celebrated in a territory that was disputed by two Indigenous people — the Guaraní and the Chacoan — before the Spaniards came in the 16th century.
“The Indigenous people sought to steal young women, take weapons and other valuable objects, and set the ranches on fire,” Barreto said.
Not all current participants in the St. Francis feast are aware of this, but their costumes and celebrations are a remembrance of this historic episode.

According to Barreto, the Guaraní name of the event, “Guaykurú Ñemondé,” translates as “dressing like a barbarian.” 

Thus Guaraní participants are dressing as their ancestral enemies.
The reason might be hidden in an ancient Guaraní rite. 

After battling the Chacoan, the Guaraní people kept their prisoners alive. They provided them with food and energizing drinks, and encouraged them to have sex with their women. The report, which the state undertook after a search warrant was obtained in 2018, is based on interviews with alleged survivors of sexual misconduct, open-source media, more than 1,100 public tips and millions of computer files from the diocese, as well as reports disclosed by the church.

It accuses 56 people: 48 priests, three religious brothers, "an apparent former religious brother" and four deacons. Most of the alleged misconduct took place in the 1970s and the 1980s.
Eleven people have been charged in connection with the investigation, leading to nine convictions.
But many of those listed in the new report are now dead, and some living suspects cannot be prosecuted because of the statute of limitations or alleged victims' failure to press charges.

Rather than criminal convictions, the report's objective is to provide "an acknowledgment to the victims of these alleged crimes".

Those who have been convicted of crimes include Vincent DeLorenzo, 84, a Michigan priest who last year pleaded guilty to preying on a 5-year-old boy after a family funeral in 1987. He died in January while he was serving his sentence.
Timothy Crowley, a priest in Ann Arbor, was sentenced to a year in jail and five years' probation after he pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Bishop Earl Boyea, the head of the Diocese of Lansing since 2008, apologized to all the victims.

The investigation into Lansing is just one of several probes into allegations of abuse within the church. The attorney general’s office has already published reports into Gaylord, Marquette and Kalamazoo and has said it will eventually have published reports into all of the state's seven dioceses by 2026." "Sridharan has long been fascinated by attention—how our brain decides to focus on one specific object in front of us and not get distracted by other objects in the background. In two recent studies,

his team has teased out distinct brain regions and mechanisms involved in our ability to pay attention.

"When you pay attention to something, the brain processes information from it better and extracts useful content from that information—this aspect of attention is what we call sensitivity," explains Sridharan. "Bias is the brain deciding that some information is more important than others for

making decisions."

Sridharan and his group have shown that a particular region of the brain, called the right posterior parietal cortex (rPCC), specifically regulates the bias component of attention."

While this movement may appear harmless, it is ultimately incompatible with the teachings of the Holy Scriptures and with the final work that God is seeking to accomplish in these last days: a revival of His holy law and a restoration of Seventh-day Sabbath observance.

Our very identity as a people is rooted in the call to “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8), not to follow human tradition. 

The seventh-day Sabbath is not just a day of rest; it is a sign of loyalty to the Creator (Ezekiel 20:12, 20). 

It was sanctified at Creation, 

reaffirmed in the Ten Commandments, 

and upheld by Jesus and the apostles."
