Creation Moment 4/18/2026 - Last Years of Hawkins

And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. Colossians 1:17

"In their 2010 book, The Grand Design, Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow set out to answer a big question: “Is the apparent ‘grand design’ of our universe evidence of a benevolent creator who set things in motion — or does science offer another explanation?”

Briefly stated, the term “fine-tuned universe” refers to the fact that the universe appears to have been set up “just so.” Its properties,

including the initial conditions and laws of chemistry and physics, along with many otherwise inexplicable constants embedded therein, are all set within extremely precise tolerances which must be “just so” for life to exist. To all appearances, it manifests a “grand design” from which intelligent design theory infers the prior existence of a designing mind.

The thesis of The Grand Design, as stated in the closing chapter, is, “Because there is a law like gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing,” i.e., no designer required. Interestingly, the plot of the pop 2014 movie God’s Not Dead hinged on John Lennox’s philosophical dismantling of this exact claim. Lennox never appeared in the movie, but his rather simple refutation did lead to two subsequent documentaries after lead actor Kevin Sorbo became intrigued with his work.

In some ways, the forthcoming film The Story of Everything, out on April 30, offers an answer to that question, though not at all an explicit response to it. While Lennox does appear in the film and comments on The Grand Design, The Story of Everything takes up Hawking’s and Mlodinow’s thesis on their own turf, so to speak. From the perspective of physics, does their “another explanation” add up to a viable case for the universe creating itself out of nothing?

The short answer, according to philosopher of science Stephen Meyer, is, no.

*Hawking proves the singularity, doesn’t much like its implications, because it seems to point to a kind of creation event, so he spent much of the rest of his career attempting to circumvent the conclusion of his own proof. 

*And in the process, he developed these quantum cosmological ideas through a tiny loophole.

Ironically, though, as Meyer and others go on to explain, even the quantum cosmological model has “theistic implications.” Moreover, it still implies the prior existence of a mind behind the universe." EN&V

Creation Moment 4/16/2026 - Arguments for the existence of the soul

Jonathan Loose argues that explaining consciousness and the self by denying they exist, as materialism does, “seems as obviously false as any position could be”. 

In order to esteem the ‘life scientific’ (i.e., scientific activity and reasoning), materialism should be rejected, according to Loose, since it renders reasoning and observations unjustified, and the accomplishments and aspirations of scientists incoherent."

Creation Moment 4/13/2026 - Feeble Attempt by Darwinians to Misuse Snowflake Uniqueness

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 136:16

"Some evolutionists will point to examples of self-organization in crystals or snowflakes as proof that unique, one-of-a-kind designs can come about through natural processes.

But ice crystals and snowflakes, no matter how beautifully designed they may appear, do not disprove the formula we discussed. 

Q: Why? 

A: Because (in our snowflake example) H2O already contains the natural ability to be arranged in various six-sided patterns when subject to below-zero temperatures due to its inherent properties. Water crystals always form six-sided shapes.

Q: How are snowflakes formed?
A: A snowflake begins to form when an extremely cold water droplet freezes onto a pollen or dust particle in the sky. This creates an ice crystal. As the ice crystal falls to the ground, water vapor freezes onto the primary crystal, building new crystals—the six arms of the snowflake.
That’s the short answer.
The more detailed explanation is this:
The ice crystals that make up snowflakes are symmetrical (or patterned) because they reflect the internal order of the crystal’s water molecules as they arrange themselves in predetermined spaces (known as “crystallization”) to form a six-sided snowflake. . . .

Q: So, why are no two snowflakes exactly alike?
A: Well, that’s because individual snowflakes all follow slightly

different paths from the sky to the ground—and thus encounter slightly different atmospheric conditions along the way. Therefore, they all tend to look unique, resembling everything from prisms and needles to the familiar lacy pattern.

Unfortunately for our naturalistically minded friends, the chemicals that make up DNA do not contain any special superpowers that could have caused them to arrange themselves into the most sophisticated coded language system we have ever seen. 

 DNA only contains information because of the arrangement it has, not because of the sugar, phosphates, and bases it’s made of."

THOUGHTS ON THE HINDU TRINITY:

[This is just my opinion] Hinduism seems to have began in the Indus River Valley civilization based on their pictographs with images similar to the their gods poses, sacred cows and the swastika of Hinduism.

We know many people venerated ancestors.
Could it be a vague memory of the trinity of brothers who populated the world post-flood? (Vishnu was elevated years later in this pantheon).
*Remember they have a story where Vishnu comes in an avatar of a

fish to save Manu during a global flood by guiding his boat filled with seeds, animals and 8 people.
Q: So could it be that the eldest, Japheth, became the creator god Brahma?
Q: And Vishnu the preserver god modelled after Shem of whom the Messianic line was to come?
Q: And finally Shiva modelled after a vague memory of Ham, the bad boy of the brothers? 

Remember that Ham (like Shiva had) would obviously have a good side at times but

made some sort of terrible mistake that resulted in Noah (Hindu Manu) cursing him.
*Another possibility is that Brahma could be a vague memory of Noah who was the progenitor of the post-flood race and Shiva representing Ham (because if you remember, Ham did something to Noah) and Shiva cut off one of Bahama's heads.....later to make a trinity Vishnu was elevated to make 3. Sort of blending the vague memory of the three who populated the earth with the Noah/Ham story.

Creation Moment 3/23/2026 - The "Gap Theory" --- what’s inside the gap?

"Gap theorists insert millions of years between the first two verses of Genesis. 

Q: But what really lurks in that gap?

Often when encountering two conflicting views, our first instinct is to find middle ground.
The gap theory is often offered as an idea that would build a bridge between the historical record of Scripture and the evolutionary time frame of billions of years by inserting millions of years in the creation account.

The gap theory not only adds to Scripture,

 it also contradicts what God says elsewhere in his Word. 

It even destroys the scarlet thread of the gospel that runs throughout the Bible’s interwoven narrative.

The gap theory tucks them between Genesis 1:1 (“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”) and Genesis 1:2 (“The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”).

While a minority of scholars held long-age interpretations before the gap theory, long ages weren’t perceived as necessary to explain

Genesis until about 200 years ago, when a group of geologists began arguing that the way the earth looks now can be entirely explained by processes that we see happening today, an idea called uniformitarianism. However, without considering the earth-changing catastrophe of the global flood (Genesis 6–8), these geologists appealed to slow and gradual processes that would take millions of years to shape the planet—hence the need for millions of years of history.

Uniformitarian geologists, such as James Hutton in the late 1700s and Charles Lyell in the 1800s, began to study the earth’s different landforms and argued that geological evidence pointed to an earth much older than a plain reading of Scripture would allow. Lyell was not a dispassionate scientist following the evidence wherever it led—he had an agenda. He wanted to “free the science of geology from Moses.”

The gap theory makes no sense when we examine the grammar of Genesis 1. Gap theorists claim that Genesis 1:2, “The earth was without form and void,” should read “and the earth became without form and void.” However, the Hebrew word waw (and) in this passage can be used in various ways, telling us what the author means in a specific instance and how it should be translated into English. The use of this waw does not indicate a chronological progression, such as the next event in a series. Rather, the word describes the state of things at the beginning of God’s creation of the heavens and earth.

The gap theory becomes even more problematic when we look at what’s inside the gap. To explain why the earth became without form and void, gap theorists normally place the fall of Satan and the other angels who rebelled with him (Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28) between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.

When Satan appeared in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3, he was clearly already a fallen creature, though still splendid (as described in Ezekiel), which is probably why he easily persuaded Eve.

The Bible doesn’t allow for a gap in Genesis, and we don’t need one. The Bible’s clear history of creation in six days, the introduction of death and suffering into creation after Adam’s fall, and the global flood in Noah’s day explain the evidence we find in the geological record." AIG

Creation Moment 3/20/2026 - Darwinian circular reasoning on the Appendix

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:22

"What does the appendix do? Biologists explain the complicated evolution of this inconvenient organ (The Conversation, 9 March 2026). In this story (NOT scientific article), Phil Starks and Lilia Goncharova use the adjective evolutionary a dozen times. Try “dormitive” for “evolutionary” in the following examples without falling asleep:

This mismatch between past adaptations and present environments illustrates a core principle in evolutionary medicine

If evolutionists didn’t have circular reasoning, they wouldn’t have any reasoning at all.

These phrases are all vacuous, empty, deceptive: pretending to explain something, they merely reinforce the evolutionary bias of the authors. (Evolutionary bias, you notice, is real. Never would they consider anything other than evolution to explain something.)

When a trait evolves repeatedly and independently, biologists call this convergent evolution. Convergence does not mean a structure is indispensable. But it does suggest that, under certain environmental conditions, having that structure provided a consistent enough advantage for evolution to favor it again and again.

In other words, the appendix is unlikely to be a useless evolutionary accident.

It is still an evolutionary accident, they are saying, but it is a “useful” accident. It has a dormitive virtue that helps put their readers to sleep, where dreams of emergence dance like sugar plums in their heads."

Creation Moment 3/19/2026 - Grasping at Clarke's 3rd Law to Reject clear cut visible DESIGN

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? 2 Peter 3:3,4

"Dawkins believes that complicated things, such as DNA, only appear to be designed. 

Q: Why does it only appear designed? 

A: Well, because if it is designed then the obvious question is, who designed it? 

--The reality of the matter is that the double-helix structure of DNA could not form by chance as we know that it carries complex coded information that can only be generated by intelligence sources (not mindless natural processes). Since Dawkins sees design as an allusion, the possibility of a designer is also seen as delusional (i.e. the title of his 2006 book The God Delusion).

Peter Boghossian: Given that the hosts of arguments [for the existence of God] don’t work, what would it take for you to believe in God?

Creation Moment 3/15/2026 - The Brain and Language Undermine Evolution

"Irreducible complexity (IC) is the observation that living systems require a minimum set of coordinated parts in order to function. When AI was asked whether this principle is valid, it replied: “Yes, all life requires a certain minimum number of parts to function, with the cell being the fundamental unit of life. Below this level of complexity, life cannot exist.”

The fact and reality of irreducible complexity has also been verified experimentally by scientists at the J. Craig Venter Institute. Their scientists assembled a self-replicating synthetic bacterial cell with a stripped-down genome containing a whopping 531,000 base pairs organized into 473 genes. This represented the minimal genetic complement required to sustain a “simple” living cell capable of growth and reproduction in a nutrient-rich laboratory environment.

Specifically, they removed the original genome from an already functioning cell—leaving all components other than the genome itself in place—and replaced it with a synthetic genome, which was built in the lab (with some modification) from Mycoplasma mycoides.

Now Greatly More Irreducible and Functionally Complex
Another example can be added to the many known examples of IC: the human brain. The problem was “For decades, scientists have mapped attention, memory, language, and reasoning to separate brain networks — yet one big mystery remained: why does the mind feel like a single, unified system?”

Another difficulty for evolutionary explanations is the existence of human language. Only humans possess true language, creating a

vast cognitive gap between humans and all other forms of life, including the primates most closely related to us. For more than a century, the prevailing evolutionary assumption was that the brain is essentially a collection of specialized systems. Functions such as attention, perception, memory, reasoning, and language, were believed to be specifically controlled by designated brain areas. As a result, these systems were typically studied in isolation.

A report from the University of Notre Dame presents compelling evidence that the long held belief that “specific function is located in one specific area of the brain” is wrong.
The network architecture of general intelligence in the human connectome (Wilcox et al., Nature Communications, 26 Jan 2026). The report concluded that “intelligence doesn’t live in one ‘smart’ region of the brain at all. Instead, it emerges from how efficiently and flexibly the brain’s many networks communicate and coordinate with each other.”
A summary of this paper was published by ScienceDaily (3 March 2026) under the title, “Intelligence emerges when the whole brain works as one.” It was based on a press release from the University of Notre Dame (28 Jan 2026).

Why Darwinians Need a Theory of Language Evolution
The importance to Darwinians of explaining language was described by W. Tecumseh Fitch in his 2010 book, The Evolution of Language:

"Language, more than anything else, is what makes us human. … no communication system of equivalent power exists elsewhere in the animal kingdom. Any normal human child will learn a language

based on rather sparse data in the surrounding world, while even the brightest chimpanzee, exposed to the same environment, will not. … Since Darwin’s theory of evolution, questions about the origin of language have generated a rapidly-growing scientific literature, stretched across a number of disciplines, … Fitch cuts through this vast literature, bringing together its most important insights to explore one of the biggest unsolved puzzles of human history."

Furthermore, the relationship between language and general intelligence is considered one of the most important and “fundamental and enduring questions in modern science.” 

For decades, scientists believed that language was produced primarily by a single region of the brain, the Broca’s area, located in the posterior inferior frontal gyrus of the brain’s left hemisphere. The new research by Wilcox et al., however, has produced experimental evidence that language does not arise from one isolated area. Rather, it emerges from the coordinated activity of networks distributed throughout the entire brain.

This discovery has the potential to transform our understanding of how the brain functions. Consequently, to claim that the brain and its many functions evolved as a unit, as the Notre Dame research implies, results in the probability that the “biggest unsolved puzzles of human history” is now many times greater than once believed.

If language and intelligence arise from the integrated operation of many interconnected systems—as research reported by the University of Notre Dame supports—then explaining how such a highly coordinated complex system could evolve step by step becomes an even greater challenge to evolution. The problem may, therefore, extend far beyond the origin of language itself, touching on some of the largest unsolved questions about the origin and nature of human cognition.

The Scientific Evidence for This Conclusion
Data from the Human Connectome Project map of the neural pathways in the healthy adult human brain. This map identifies both structural and functional connections using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). This technique includes both resting-state (rfMRI) and task-based (tfMRI) to map the human brain’s functional and structural connectivity to study how different brain regions interact.

Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging works by detecting changes in blood flow and blood oxygen level which map brain activity. When neurons become active, they consume more oxygen, prompting increased blood flow to that region of the brain. The scanner detects these changes by detecting strong magnetic force fields, allowing researchers to identify patterns of brain activity.
Using this method, scientists can map distinct brain subdivisions and the neural systems involved in functions such as language. The project analyzes data from approximately 1,200 subjects to chart the brain’s “wiring” (white matter tracts) and patterns of activity (functional networks). This map helps researchers better understand brain organization, behavior, and genetics. The results from these fMRI scans are shown in the accompanying picture.

Summary
The result of the University of Notre Dame project is a clearer understanding of how “efficiently and flexibly the brain’s many networks communicate and coordinate with each other.” The fMRI analysis produces clear evidence that language processing and

production do not reside in a single region of the brain. Instead, it involves widely distributed networks across the brain. This finding is a game changer and has major implications, not only for theories about the evolution of language but also for our understanding of brain function as a whole. If language and intelligence arise from the integrated and coordinated activity of many interconnected brain systems, this presents a much greater challenge for evolutionary explanations because it suggests that the brain operates as an integrated, irreducible functional unit. In order for an organism to survive, the brain would need to remain functional throughout the entire evolutionary process." CEH

Q: So, to return to agnosticism: Is it really neutral? And can one be agnostic about their agnosticism (ad absurdum)?

Firstly: It’s debatable that agnosticism is a neutral stance on whether or not God exists. I tend to see it as a truth claim, in that the agnostic admits to know his agnosticism is the right world view regarding theism, otherwise they wouldn’t be an agnostic. And what’s right for them, must also be true for him, and what’s true must be a knowledge claim, despite being dressed up in ‘healthy skepticism’.

Then there is the problem for the agnostic of appearance and reality, where objects in the external world can be visually perceived in more ways than one. Are agnostics agnostic about appearances in the external world? They should be if they want to be consistent.

However, a tree seen from many angles looks different, as does a human being. This geographical phenomenon by visual degrees can also be seen in everyday domestic objects, the countryside landscape, or works of art. From a distance of thousands of miles, Jupiter’s ice-covered moon Europa looks like a white snooker ball; but on closer inspection it vaguely resembles a Jackson Pollock abstract painting with its fractured crust and zig-zag patterns.

Then there is the phenomenon of optical illusion. This is where a person’s visual system differs from reality in certain visual categories, where sometimes light plays a powerful role. In an essay in The Imaginative Conservative (Dec 9, 2017), Thaddeus Kozinski said we must keep our eyes fixed on the suffering and death of Jesus Christ and hold on to him for dear life in the midst of the evils that would otherwise suffocate our souls and eclipse all the beauty and love that this world still contains. He added: “Agnosticism is the ultimate stupidity and wickedness because it doesn’t so much reject God as ignore Him. If I were God, I’d be more angry at such cold indifference than anything else.”

"When someone says there’s “zero evidence” for Jesus outside the Bible, what they’re really saying is, “I haven’t seen anything that looks like a modern blog.” Ancient history doesn’t work that way. You don’t get bylines or headshots from 30 AD. You sift through surviving texts, check motives, and notice who mentions Jesus without preaching. Roman and Jewish writers did exactly that. They were people referencing a real man tied to real events.

Josephus was born around 37 or 38 AD in Jerusalem, which puts him one generation away from people who remembered Jesus. By his twenties, Flavius Josephus had priestly credentials, political instincts, and a front-row seat to the Jewish revolt that exploded in 66 AD. He surrendered, switched patrons, and kept writing. In his mid-50s,

around 93 AD, he finished Antiquities of the Jews.

By AD 71, Josephus had settled in Rome under the watchful eye of Vespasian, writing for Romans who cared about power, order, and what happens when leadership fails. Josephus drops names as cultural markers, not praise. When he does, you’re seeing what people accepted as public knowledge, even stuff they didn’t like admitting.

Josephus exists in about 120 Greek manuscripts, with dozens predating the fourteenth century, plus roughly 170 Latin translations, some reaching back to the sixth century. Scholars compare these traditions to catch copyist fingerprints, confirm names, and spot odd insertions.

Josephus won’t hand you a modern lab report for miracles or resurrection. Ancient history won’t work that way. Josephus does give you something more basic and more useful: an independent, non-Christian author tying early Christian leadership to a historical Jesus.

Scholars disagree about the exact wording, because we don’t own Josephus’ original draft.

So if someone tells you Jesus was invented by a group of fishermen and tax collectors, you can now respond with the truth. Jesus existed. History says so." msn
