Compulsion to Closure (CtoC)

"For classical Christian theism, intelligibility is guaranteed by the infinite Logos. Reason Himself spoke the world into being, endowing it with real, dependable order. Because God is infinite and man is finite, our knowledge is necessarily asymptotic: we may approach true, objective understanding of creation, but we never circumscribe the infinite Mind of the Maker. Humility and mystery sit comfortably alongside rigorous scientific inquiry because the cosmos is open to its transcendent Ground.

For scientism, however, the PSR has been perverted into a

suffocating, airtight cage. The creature demands total closure within the boundaries of the immanent system. Human reason must construct an autonomous Theory of Everything where every link of the causal chain terminates inside the natural world.

When that closed system crashes into the undeniable reality of conscious experience (what David Chalmers famously termed the “hard problem“), the secular apparatus panics. Kimpton-Nye admits the failure of the mechanistic model with surprising candor:

“However closely we look at the physical matter that makes up conscious beings, we get no closer to understanding how consciousness arises. Leibniz encouraged us to imagine increasing the size of the human brain to the size of a mill so that we can walk around inside it and observe all its working parts in meticulous detail. If we did this, at no point would we observe conscious experience.” CEH

Creation Moment 10/8/2026 - Earth's waters

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2

"Homogeneous accretion of the Earth in the inner Solar System (Sossi and Bower, Nature Astronomy, 27 March 2026) Their research has overturned conventional assumptions in planetary science that were held for several decades.

Secular theories of Earth’s formation have leaned heavily on the idea that our planet was built from a mixture of inner and outer Solar System materials. This framework was especially important for explaining how Earth acquired volatile substances such as water. Yet Sossi and Bower (2026) utilized a novel methodology based heavily

on experimental data and less on assumed mechanisms to conclude that earth’s composition is “entirely of material from the inner Solar System, distinct from any combination of existing meteorites.”

The implications of these findings are enormous, as it contradicts several foundational secular assumptions about how our planet formed. In particular, it suggests that Earth is not simply a collage of known meteorite types. Its identity cannot be simply reconstructed by mixing known meteorite compositions. Sossi and Bower’s research also points to a greater level of stability of the early universe than was once thought and indicates that water on earth was not ‘seeded’ from far away. 

This article reflects on some of the implications of these findings, and how this new evidence increasingly aligns with aspects of the Biblical account in Genesis.

Sossi and Bowen’s research highlights at least three distinct findings that appear to resonate well within the Biblical description of origins, namely:

The earth’s water was present early in its formation and not seeded later from a distance.

The earth formed from a coherent source, not multiple meteorites, unlike conventional views thought.
The inner and outer planets are more stable than once thought."

But, the surviving New Atheists object, science must “reject the idea of a designing mind because no such entity can be directly observed.” Is that some sort of scientific first principle? Not at all, as is also becoming clearer:

inferred not because it could be seen, but because — if it existed — it would explain the otherwise unexplainable motions of galaxies within distant galaxy clusters. The fact is that scientists often infer unobservable causes from their observable effects, and the inference to intelligent design from the observable features of living cells has this same character." Creation Moment 10/6/2026 - New Tree Research

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. Genesis 1:11

"A newly discovered role for tension wood: the “muscle” trees use to correct their posture (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment [INRAE], 2 Sept 2026). Through controlled experiments, scientists found that trees have a sense of their position in space.

"A research team from INRAE and the University Clermont Auvergne has shown that trees are capable of correcting a curvature they detect in their stems through a specific biological process. In the study, young trees with bent stems were placed in an experimental set-up that prevented them from sensing their orientation relative to light and gravity. The only sense remaining to the trees was the

perception of their own curvature. Under these conditions, the scientists observed the formation of a particular type of wood, known as tension wood, which acts like a muscle to correct the curvature of the stem, allowing it to realign within a few weeks. Published in New Phytologist, the findings show how plants—under natural conditions—finely perceive their own shape and combine this information with signals relating to their orientation to adjust their posture."

The new findings build on work from 2012 at INRAE that detected a proprioceptive sense in plants. This sense, the ability to detect position of on organism’s body parts in 3-D space, was “long believed to be specific to animals.” A young tree growing on a mountain slope, for instance, will grow tension wood on its upper side to cause it to curve up to a vertical position. Until the current work, the biological mechanism was unknown.

It took about 10 days for young poplar trees in an experimental setup deprived of information about light and position to fix their orientation. They responded to their sense of their own orientation by growing tension wood in just the right position, correcting their growth pattern.

"The formation of tension wood on the upper side, which had caused the stem to bend upwards, ceased when the device was activated, while a wood identical in every respect formed on the opposite side. The latter appears to function as an antagonistic muscle, generating a pulling force in the opposite direction and progressively restoring the stem to a straight form."

Simple, isn’t it? Problem solved by scientific experiment? Not exactly; like everything else in biology,

"Tension wood formation is a complex biological process that is regulated at the cellular level and unfolds through several successive stages. The process is also governed by the plant’s proprioception."

The use of antagonistic forces sounds akin to animal muscles that grow in pairs, like biceps and triceps, to counteract one another and maintain balanced movement. Plants, too, have a “genuine sensorimotor loop” that takes advantage of its proprioceptive sense and grows the appropriate amount of tension wood in the right place to achieve balanced vertical growth. It takes fine tuning to achieve this:

"These results show that plants combine fine perceptions of their environment (such as light and gravity) with an awareness of their own shape. They integrate and process this information to activate tension wood in different directions, thereby achieving or maintaining the most appropriate posture. These key abilities contribute to the resilience of trees when faced with extreme events that can alter their position, such as storms or landslides, a trait of particular importance in the context of climate change."

Other than that brief nod to political correctness, ("climate change") this Darwin-free press release opened up windows into additional complex processes at work that are too easily taken for granted." CEH

Creation Moment 10/4/2026 - Evolution's rabbit out of a hat trick

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools...

"Atheists often promote themselves as intelligent, logical, scientific, rational, etc. They even had a proposal to call themselves ‘brights’! The aggressive ‘new Atheists’, such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and company, like to portray those of us who believe in a supernatural Creator as irrational, unscientific, unintelligent, ignorant, or even ‘needing help’ (Dawkins). The entertainment industry often reinforces these perceptions by portraying ‘religious’ people (Christians particularly, and especially church leaders) as buffoons or hillbillies (almost never as a university professor, for example).

Reality runs against these perceptions. Isaac Newton, the greatest scientific mind of all time, was a Christian believer, as were other founders of modern science.

There is much more to say. Atheists believe that everything came about by purely material processes—the universe, life, mind, and morality. 

Q: However, do they have a rational, logical basis for this belief?

They actually believe in miracles without any reasonable cause for

the miracles. That is, they believe in magic, or the occurrence of things without a sufficient cause. What we commonly call ‘magic’ is actually illusion. 

For example, a rabbit does not just appear from an empty hat; there has to be a logical physical explanation; a sufficient cause. Illusion needs an illusionist. Stuff does not happen without something to cause it to happen. Even young children understand this law of causation. Magic, where things ‘just happen’, is the stuff of fairytales—there is no such thing." CMI

Creation Moment 10/1/2026 - Ushikawa Man DEBUNKED

"Between 1957 and 1959 two fossilized limb bone parts were uncovered in Japan. Scientists thought the bones were human—a portion of humerus (upper arm bone) and the head of a femur (thigh bone). So they were dubbed ‘Ushikawa Man’ because they were found at the Ushikawa (牛川 = Ox River’) district in Toyohashi city, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan.

Scientists claimed that ‘Ushikawa Man’ was a male human who lived somewhere between 129–774 thousand years (ka) ago. This would make him Japan’s most ancient fossil human. A few decades later, the ‘date’ began to be progressively revised down to about 20 ka ago, still among the country’s oldest fossil humans. That is, until recently.

A 2024 study has re-examined the bones and discovered that they

are in fact the bones of a brown bear. The ‘humerus’ was actually a radius bone—from the bear’s forearm, not its upper arm. And the femur head was also from the bear. ‘Ushikawa Man’ actually never was.

This is not the first time that bear and human bones have been confused. A bone found in a cave in Alaska in the 1990s, even though found near shell beads, was thought to belong to a bear. When re-examined in 2019, it turned out instead to belong to a Native American woman.

Incidents like this should remind us to be cautious about interpretations of the past when the physical evidence is scant. In fact, this is only one of many instances in which a further examination of the physical evidence has led to museum displays correcting their signage. The obvious lesson is that we should be especially cautious about interpretations of physical evidence which promote or convey an evolutionary worldview that contradicts Biblical history." CMI

"After the landmark publication of Genetic Entropy and the Mystery of the Genome by Cornell University Professor Dr John Sanford, we have often been asked to supply further details of this major

challenge to evolutionary theory. The central part of Sanford’s argument is that mutations (spelling mistakes in DNA) are accumulating so quickly in some creatures (particularly people) that natural selection cannot stop the functional degradation of the genome—let alone drive an evolutionary process that can turn apes into people.
A simple analogy would be rust slowly spreading throughout a car over time. Each little bit of rust (akin to a single mutation in an organism) is almost inconsequential on its own, but if the rusting process cannot be stopped it will eventually destroy the car." CMI

Creation Moment 9/16/2026 - Idolatry and natural selection

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). The Creator of all things is the Lord Jesus Christ, who has no equal in authority and status. The first two commandments reiterate that this high position is His alone: “You shall have no other gods before Me. . . . You shall not make any . . . likeness . . . . You shall not bow down to them nor serve them” (Exodus 20:3, 4).

Darwin’s clever link between idolatry and the evolutionary worldview is natural selection and the concept behind that term. Scientists initially criticized natural selection as a personification. As a science historian explains, “One source of trouble was that Darwin liked the term ‘natural selection’ because it [a mental concept] could be ‘used as a substantive governing a verb [a real agent that can act]’ (F. Darwin, 1887, vol. 3, p. 46). But such uses appeared to reify, even to deify, natural selection as an agent.”

Q: Do evolutionists invoke natural selection as a substitute creator? 

A: Let’s hear from them.

"This was Darwin’s fundamental discovery, that there is a process that is creative, although not conscious. . . . It was Darwin’s greatest accomplishment to show that the complex organization and functionality of living beings can be explained as the result of a natural process—natural selection—without any need to resort to a Creator or other external agent."

"Natural selection is a creative process that can explain the appearance of genuine novelty."

Natural selection is venerated as the creator of biology, so why not for the entire universe? As one evolutionist put it, “Charles Darwin .

. . [has] brought the entire natural world under a single law of natural selection . . . [the] starting point [of my theory about the universe’s evolution] is the remarkable theory of cosmological natural selection proposed by the physicist Lee Smolin.” It follows that “the universe could be further understood as a self-coherent and self-creating whole, without the need for anything outside itself to give it law, meaning or complexity.”

Natural selection is idolatrous in the basest of ways. Not only does it ascribe rational powers to unconscious environmental features, like any other idol, but it also induces people not to give the Lord Jesus credit for the incredible intelligence and machinery He has built into His creatures that enable them to adapt to their environment. Consider the Lord’s declaration in Isaiah 42:8: “I am the LORD: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images” . . . or to nature as creator." ICR

Creation Moment 9/14/2026 - A bad worldview

Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things.... Isaiah 40:26

"In the evolutionary view, early earth was not a pleasant place to live. A recent article summarizing research on the “origin of life” described early earth this way: “Earth’s first few hundred million years brought relentless impacts, intense volcanism and an atmosphere almost entirely devoid of oxygen.” And yet this new research claims the “last universal common ancestor” (LUCA) somehow evolved a mere 400 million years after earth formed.

New genetics research—entirely based on evolutionary assumptions and interpretations of genomes—now places LUCA “astonishingly early” in earth’s history. That’s surprising in the evolutionary view, given how complex life is and how uninhabitable early earth is assumed to be. But the problem is actually worse than that because they don’t believe LUCA was the first life-form.

"The name can be misleading. “Last” means most recent in relation to all living lineages, while “universal” refers to the sampled

cellular tree. LUCA was not necessarily one individual, the only organism alive, or the first self-replicating system. It is better imagined as a population whose descendants won a vast evolutionary survival contest. . . This boundary changes the timing implication. If LUCA already lived 4.2 billion years ago, the origin of life must be older still. The estimate does not say how much older, because lineages that vanished without contributing genes cannot be reconstructed from modern genomes."

In other words, our supposed last common ancestor evolved 400 million years after earth’s formation, but before it evolved, other life-forms surely must have evolved and died out, leaving just LUCA to continue evolving; so the origin of the very first life-form must have occurred even closer to the origin of the earth. Even with over 4.5 billion years to work with, evolutionists are running out of time!

This is why many evolutionists now believe that life didn’t evolve here on earth at all but rather was brought here from a distant planet, either intentionally by aliens or by lucky accident. But that just shifts the same problem to another planet! So the answer to a lack of time for life to have evolved here is to push the origin of life out into the universe where there’s more time (in the evolutionary view, the universe is believed to be 13.8 billion years old).

It doesn’t matter how much the evidence contradicts the evolutionary worldview, the model will mold to fit the new evidence or the problem will just be pushed out to where we can’t study it (the depths of outer space).

Evolution isn’t science; it’s a worldview being used to interpret the evidence we have in the present. And I would argue it’s a bad worldview that doesn’t explain the evidence consistently." AIG

Creation Moment 9/12/2026 - Continuous Environmental Tracking

And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. Colossians 1:17

"Guliuzza’s theory is that all life has an inbuilt mechanism that allows it to adapt to environmental changes. It is called the Continuous Environmental Tracking (CET) model. Developedprimarily through his work with the Institute for Creation Research (ICR), CET rejects traditional Darwinian natural selection evolution, and, instead of viewing organisms as passive entities shaped by external natural selection forces, Guliuzza argues that life is engineered with complex, internally built-in control mechanisms designed by the Creator to actively adapt to environmental changes. Specifically, the theory concludes that

"For more than a century, biologists have appealed to Darwinian natural selection to explain how living organisms adapt to different environments. But research over the last several decades has consistently dethroned Darwin’s view of natural selection. Rather than corroborating the concept that environments mold creatures through “survival of the fittest,” the research supports the astonishing idea that to a great extent, creatures actively sense their environments and adapt accordingly… Adaptation is a result of brilliant biological engineering rather than trial-and-error death and survival, which flips the mechanism of adaptation completely on its head. This approach views biological adaptation as primarily occurring through internal mechanisms (the ability to actively sense the environment and adapt) rather than external influence (the environment molds creatures through Darwinian natural selection."

The word evolution comes from the Latin evolutio, meaning “an unrolling” or “unfolding” from ex- (“out of”) and volvere (“to roll”). In other words, the word itself conveys the idea of something unfolding out from what came before by natural selection of mutations." CEH

Creation Moment 9/11/2026 - Not Remarkable IF one uses the Biblical Timeline

"An astounding discovery was that of large, black ink sacs preserved within specimens of fossilized cephalopods (squid-like marine animals that squirt ink) recovered from a rock formation in England supposedly about 160 million years old. 

Surprisingly, careful examination of the ink sac contents revealed what appeared to be ink consisting of granules similar in size and

shape to those that are in the ink of modern cephalopods, which additional analyses demonstrated had chemical properties that included melanin, the pigment found in the ink of modern cephalopods. 

As Dr. Rana himself commented finding “a chemically intact form [of preserved melanin] for at least 160 million years is nothing short of remarkable.”....... creationists have understandably embraced these discoveries of soft tissues and biomolecules in these ancient fossils. That’s because our timescale for earth history with the Flood cataclysm only about 4,350 years ago predicts such soft tissues and biomolecules would be found in fossils. They would have survived those few thousand years based on the known observations and experiments of their rapid decay today."

Creation Moment 9/9/2026 - Fake Quotes to target Behe

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: Proverbs 19:3

"In an unexpected move, New York University Press has pulled the book Designer Science (September 9, 2025) because a quote that appears critical to its argument was fabricated: From Science & Culture Today:

"Less than a year after publishing its book Designer Science, elite

academic publisher New York University Press is retracting the original edition because the book used a fabricated quote by Michael Behe to attack Behe and intelligent design. The publisher has volunteered to destroy all remaining inventory, completely remove two passages referencing the fabricated quote, and reissue both the physical and electronic editions of the book."

“NYU Press Pulls Anti-ID Book with Fabricated Quote from Michael Behe,” August 25, 2026."

That’s bound to be considerable expense and trouble.
AI is not to blame for the chain of errors that led to the fabricated quote that was fatal to the current edition.

What happened here is something else, a sobering tale of what can go wrong when everybody in a chain misrepresents something only slightly, like the childhood game of Telephone. The statement that ended up in print was never uttered. Much worse, it went against what the researcher to whom it was attributed actually believes.

In that sense, this is a story about what’s going wrong in scholarship today.
Q: How did it happen?

Briefly, Michael Behe is a Lehigh University biochemist, best known for books like Darwin’s Black Box (1996) and The Edge of Evolution (2007). He is an advocate of intelligent design (ID), the idea that there is a mind behind the universe — a position that has earned him scathing abuse in some quarters over the years.

C. H. Howell, a professor in the religion department at Duke University, wrote Designer Science as a critical exposé of ID and its supporters. His book was praised by knowledgeable scholars such as Francis Beckwith and Edward Larson.
But there was a problem. In the book, he quotes Behe, a witness at the famous Dover Trial (2005), as follows:

"Ultimately, the most damning admission might have come from Behe’s mouth himself, when he confessed on the stand that the “plausibility of the argument for ID depends upon the extent to which one believes in the existence of God.” At root, Behe’s admission showed that there was something fundamentally nonempirical at the heart of ID, that it was based upon philosophical assumptions, on metaphysics, and on first principles. It therefore depended upon a prior commitment. (p. 132)."

And it’s a fake quote. Behe never said that and does not believe what it implies. 

Q: How did it end up in the book?

At Science & Culture Today, Casey Luskin explains,
To summarize what happened, this nightmarish game of bad-scholarship-telephone went like this:

● In 2001, Michael Behe writes an article claiming that ID is empirically based and doesn’t require any religious commitment.
● The ACLU then very badly misrepresents Behe’s article as claiming that “plausibility of the argument for ID depends upon the extent to which one believes in the existence of God,” and then the ACLU puts this distortion into a brief filed with Judge Jones during the Dover trial.
● Judge Jones then copies the ACLU’s brief with its misrepresentations into his ruling, but he makes things worse by adding the phrase “emphasis added” so it looks like those were Behe’s exact words.
● Then, finally, Howell brings the final piece of distortion: He claims that Behe said those words on the witness stand — a “damning admission” that “came from Behe’s mouth” no less! But the worst part is that Howell uses this fake quote in his book as a linchpin gotcha quote to basically claim that ID is more religion than science, etc.
--Luskin notes that Howell may have been using Wikipedia as a source. If so, not a good idea.

In a followup article, Luskin offers that there are other problems with the book, problems that are worth noting but probably won’t be addressed by the publisher:

"Howell’s failure is worse than one particular fake quote. It’s two decades of fake history. The blame here falls on Howell but also on all the academic reviewers who approved his book, a true system-wide scholarly breakdown. He makes his case less by error and more by omission — essentially choosing to just ignore a huge body of ID scientific research and literature that directly contradicts his thesis."

Creation Moment 9/8/2026 - Fisher’s Theorem would lead to terminal stasis

"Remarkably, Fisher’s theorem by itself illustrates a self-limiting process – once all the bad alleles are eliminated, and once all the individuals carry only good alleles, then there is nothing left to select, and so selective progress must stop. The end result is that the population improves slightly and then becomes locked in stasis (no further change). It is astounding that Fisher’s Theorem does not explicitly address this profound problem! Newly arising mutations are not even part of Fisher’s mathematical formulation. Instead,

Fisher simply added an informal corollary (which was never proven), which involved extrapolation from his simple proof. He assumed that a continuous flow of new mutations would continuously replenish the population’s genetic variability, thereby allowing continuous and unlimited fitness increase.

The authors of the new paper realized that one of Fisher’s pivotal assumptions was clearly false, and in fact was falsified many decades ago. In his informal corollary, Fisher essentially assumed that new mutations arose with a nearly normal distribution – with an equal proportion of good and bad mutations (so mutations would have a net fitness effect of zero). We now know that the vast majority of mutations in the functional genome are harmful, and that beneficial mutations are vanishingly rare. The simple fact that Fisher’s premise was wrong, falsifies Fisher’s corollary. Without Fisher’s corollary – Fisher’s Theorem proves only that selection improves a population’s fitness until selection exhausts the initial genetic variation, at which point selective progress ceases. Apart from his corollary, Fisher’s Theorem only shows that within an initial population with variant genetic alleles, there is limited selective progress followed by terminal stasis."

Creation Moment 9/3/2026 - Eyes are NOT Wired Backwards

So God created man in His own image,....And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.

"Evolutionists such as Richard Dawkins have long claimed that our eyes are wired ‘backwardly’, allegedly something which no intelligent designer would do. That is, the light receptor cells are behind the nerves, which supposedly obstruct the light path.

In reality, in the last few years, researchers have shown that light doesn’t go through the nerves, but is instead funnelled through

Müller glial cells.

These act like a fiber-optic plate that increases image sharpness, so “The retina is revealed as an optimal structure designed for improving the sharpness of images.” Furthermore, they help to separate out the three primary colors, so that red and green light is funneled to the color-sensitive cones. The other type of light receptor, rods, are good for night vision, but weaker at detecting green and especially red light, so the Müller cells scatter blue light on to them.

Much of this new research comes from Technion, the Israel Institute

of Technology, in the lab of Dr Erez Ribak, an astrophysicist who turned from studying stars to studying eyes. He has now shown that the Müller cells must be just the right height and width to filter the different colours correctly: “If the retina is too thick or too thin, it’s not effective.” He proved this by shining light of different colors into human and guinea pig retinas, showing how the light was guided. Ribak says:

“The retina of the eye has been optimized so that the sizes and densities of glial cells match the colors to which the eye is sensitive (which is in itself an optimization process suited to our needs). This optimization is such that color vision during the day is enhanced, while night-time vision suffers very little.”

Mark Hankins, a professor of visual neuroscience at the University of Oxford, pointed out even another reason for the backward wiring: “clearing of worn-out cell components and having access to a fuel supply of light-sensitive molecules”. These functions are provided by a layer behind the light receptors, called the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), which means that the nerves can’t also be behind the receptors."

"Matthew Haber at the University of Utah proposes “the rejection of absolute biological history, the idea that there is an invariant, privileged biological history against which other histories are

measured or deviate from.” Our comment, “If one says that something isn’t real, and yet we can know it — not far down that road lies utter incomprehension.” Haber calls it “biology’s Einstein moment,” but it feels more like a surreal state.

Now along comes a new video from New Scientist instructing us that “The Human Family Tree Has No Beginning.” No biological history and no biological beginning:

There is much doubt in the academic world these days, at a pretty fundamental level. Recently, for example, it came out that there is very little agreement among theoretical physicists about whether the basic facts of our universe imply anything about its origins.

Creation Moment 8/25/2026 - Folly of the Fools of evolution within the Church

"The now deceased vocal atheist William Provine a professor in

biology mentioned in previous episodes once said as the creationists claim belief in modern evolution makes atheists of people. 

One can have a religious view that is compatible with evolution only if the religious view is indistinguishable from atheism. 

And in fact, the Bible quite similarly describes this result as well in Proverbs 26:5: Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself."

Creation Moment 8/21/2026 - Christianity and evolution NOT compatible

"Evolution destroys utterly and finally the very reason Jesus' earthly

life was supposedly made necessary. 

Destroy Adam and Eve and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the Son of God. 

--If Jesus was not the redeemer who died for our sins and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing. 

--You see, abandoning the Genesis account as true history has had truly terrible consequences both within and outside the church. 

The word of God says, "The last enemy to be destroyed is death." 1 Corinthians 15:26. God didn't create the world with an active enemy within it. And yet, for those believers who've adopted the secular timeline and attempted to add it to the Bible, they must logically conclude there was death in this world before Adam sinned.

Bad things, so to speak, would not have occurred in the creation until after Adam disobeyed God and sin entered the world at the time of the fall. 

Just as Romans 5:12 states, "Therefore, just as sin came into the
world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all have sinned."

Creation Moment 8/19/2026 -Hot Water and Cracked Rock?

"Could an asteroid impact really spark life? A recent AGU Advances paper says early asteroid impacts might have cracked Earth’s crust and made large hot-water systems where life could have begun. 

But the main problem remains: the study gives a possible opportunity for chemistry to happen, but it doesn’t show how dead chemicals made the coded systems needed for life.

The paper simply suggests large impacts could make rock more open and cracked. Water could then move through hot rock and carry minerals. The authors estimate that impacts might have made much of the upper crust open to water 4.3 billion years ago or earlier.1 Southwest Research Institute said these environments were places “where life could have evolved.”

--That claim goes beyond what the study shows. A hot-water system may have water, heat, and minerals, but life needs much more than active chemistry. Cracked rock and hot water do not explain DNA, RNA, proteins, or the genetic code—key parts of the cell that allow life to exist. These parts must work together; they are not a random chemical configuration.

Conventional origin-of-life research often starts with carefully chosen conditions. Even the famous Miller experiment, still widely cited in origin-of-life discussions, produced some amino acids under a planned laboratory setup. That result is often treated as a big step toward life. But amino acids are not life, just as bricks are not a house. Neither life nor a house come about without a plan, an order, and a builder.

Water-based environments, as discussed in the study, actually present an interesting dilemma for cells. Cells need water to keep their control system functionally intact, and a hot-water system can make reactions happen faster. But faster reactions do not create the right order, code, or function. Additionally, water makes many reactions that join small molecules into long chains difficult, causing interfering side reactions. Outside the protected setting of a cell, water can also help break those chains apart.

Parts of the cell depend on each other. DNA stores coded instructions. Proteins, such as enzymes, do specific jobs. RNA helps connect the two. ICR has noted that biological networks like these show logic, control, and rule-based design as found in engineered systems. That kind of control has not been observed to arise from lifeless chemistry.

From a creationist view, the evidence points to a purposeful design behind life. Nehemiah 9:6 says, “You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all.” This does not deny chemistry. It places chemistry, life, and preservation under the wisdom and power of the Creator.

The asteroid paper may help explain how impacts changed early rock systems, but it does not indicate life came into existence as a result of an asteroid impact. The study merely shows that conventional scientists can model a possible setting for chemistry to happen. The origin of life still requires what hot water and cracked rock have never been seen to produce: coded information, linked systems, and purposeful engineering."

Creation Moment 8/18/2026 - Evolution is a blind-faith belief

For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20

"You see, the idea of evolution doesn’t come from fossils, biology, or DNA. Rather, it comes from an interpretation of the fossils, biological systems, and DNA from a worldview founded in the belief of naturalism (atheism). Scientists start with their worldview—evolutionary naturalism—and they interpret the evidence in light of their worldview. It’s a belief system (really a religion) that relies on faith. But it’s a blind faith.
Evolutionists must believe all of these things by blind faith:Life came from nonlife . . . even though this contradicts the law of biogenesis.

--One kind of creature changed into another kind . . . even though that’s never been observed.
--Natural selection can create new genetic information . . . even though that’s never been observed. Natural selection works on already-existing genetic diversity.

--Various, extremely complex systems evolved multiple times each (e.g., powered flight supposedly evolved at least four separate times).

Millions of years ago, life exploded on the scene in great diversity with few “ancestors” in the rock layers below (this is called the Cambrian explosion).
--Humans and great apes share a common ancestor . . . even though the number of differences between us and them keeps increasing with each new study!

--Soft tissue managed to last millions of years in the fossil record.

And that’s just some of the problems with evolutionary ideas."
