NOAH: Representative of those living among the rebellious against God. But he would be preserved through the wrath of God.
ABRAHAM: Representative God's people called out from the world.
JACOB: Representative of God's new Church. He was the younger twin brother. Yet he received the birthright instead of the older. (as when the older Jewish church was replaced by the younger Christian church). There were now 2 "Israel's"- Literal & Spiritual.
JOSPEH: Representative of Christ's work on behalf of his people. Like Christ, Joseph went on before his brothers arrived. And like Joseph tested his brothers before permitting them to migrate to the country, Christ's people undergo the Judgment. They would be settled in their "Goshen". And like the story of Joseph, which culminated with Joseph running to meet his people, there too is the prodigal son ending and a big family reunion in the end.
