@ Many Christians repeat the part of the first lie about not dying, claiming from the pulpit the immortality of the soul.
@ Mormons teach that one day married Mormons who have been sealed in the temple in Salt Lake City, will one day get their own planet and become a "god" like the Father God.
But what did God say prior to Lucifer opening his big mouth via the serpent?
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Genesis 3:3
Job pretty much lays to rest both parts of the lie....
Shall mortal man be more just than God?
shall a man be more pure than his maker?
Job 4:17
That part about being "mortal" pretty much undercuts both parts of the lie. The part about not dying & the part about being like "gods". For God is immortal---
...who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Who only hath immortality,
dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto;
1 Timothy 6:15,16
