Q: What is Post-Modernism?
(This term of "Post-Modernism" is used by the emerging church movement)
A: Post-Modernism is Error & Truth cohabitating under the banner of "truth".
An ecumenical movement built on pluralism & heresy - LITERALLY.
Example: A Hindu could remain a Hindu & have a "relationship" with Christ.
It claims there are no absolutes in the Bible.......
Another way to describe Post-Modernism: "HIP DOUBT"
They prefer "mystery" over doctrinal certainty.
Paul warns us about these people - For of this sort are they which.......Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. But foolish and unlearned
questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
2 Timothy 3:6,7 / 2:3
As for heretics, Paul says - A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
EXAMPLE of some of their heretical thinking...
"Beyond these models of reconciliation, a theology of mysticism provides some hope for common ground between Christianity and Islam. Both religions have within their histories examples of ecstatic union with God ... I do not know what to make of the Muslim mystics, especially those who have come to be known as the Sufis. What do they experience in their mystical experiences? Could they have encountered the same God we do in our Christian mysticism?"
