It is likely that the first great post-Edenic sorrow felt by Eve was the slaughter of Abel by Cain. Sort of like another mother who many generations later would have sorrow when her innocent Son's blood would be shed. Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also, Luke 2:35
