"Peter preached the first missionary sermon to representatives of at least thirteen different sections of the known world. Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia...–from the north-east are mentioned. Arabians had come from the south-west. Asia Minor to the north was represented by Jews and proselytes from Phrygia and Pamphylia, Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia. There were pilgrims from Crete in the Mediterranean Sea, from Libya and Egypt in North Africa, and even strangers from Rome, the center of the Empire. Three thousands souls responded to that first appeal, and during the following days thousands more accepted the message of the Gospel. As these separated after the feast and returned to their various homes, they carried with them the good news of salvation, and began to raise up churches in the very uttermost parts of the Empire.

In the 13th chapter of Acts we find that Antioch, the Graeco-Syrian capital of the East, had become a center from which evangelists were being sent forth into the regions beyond, along the great trade routes which radiated in all directions from that city. Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark received their commissions, under God, from the church at Antioch and spread the message over Asia, Greece, Macedonia, and southern Europe as far as Rome, and perhaps even farther afield. In the second century Alexandria became another center from whence proceeded missionary pioneers into all the earth. It is not, therefore, unreasonable to suppose that some of these fervent Christian missionaries penetrated the forests of Gaul, found themselves on the shores of the narrow channel which separated the wild islands of the Brittani from the mainland, and crossed over to carry the good news of salvation there also.

There are many legends and traditions which suggest different leaders of the early church as the pioneers of the Gospel in Britain.

He was chosen by Paul to be the missionary bishop to the land of Britain, inhabited by a very war like and fierce race, by whom he was often scourged and repeatedly dragged as a criminal through their towns. Yet he converted many of them to Christianity; and after he had built churches and ordained deacons and priests for the island, he was there martyred."

Well, among the winners this year was a group called “The Dolls” . . . all nine of whom are men.

Yes, nine men won “Women of the Year” awards! These men, who work to “Protect the Dolls,” were specifically chosen because “these trailblazers work tirelessly to empower, uplift and celebrate trans voices.”

In other words, these men, who dress like women and call themselves “dolls,” work hard to ensure that women have no private spaces and that men who say they are women are treated just like women—which means there’s really no such thing as a woman at all! next week for a state visit, where the King and Pope Leo will pray together, the first time such a thing has happened in 500 years, if not longer.

Pope Leo XIV is to welcome King Charles III, the head of state of the United Kingdom and the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, to the Vatican on October 22nd and 23rd. 

While King Charles will not be the first British monarch to visit the Vatican — Queen Elizabeth II visited during her reign, for instance — the two men will pray together at the Sistine Chapel, reckoned by Buckingham Palace to be the first time this will have happened in some 500 years.

This claim dates back to King Henry VIII splitting from Rome in 1534, before there was even a United Kingdom, and Henry was the King of England only.
Yet King Henry VIII is not known to have ever visited Rome or met the then-Pope himself, so the date of the last time a ‘British’ King prayed alongside the Pope in Rome may have been hundreds of years before even that. King Canute, the Viking King of England, Denmark, and Norway certainly made a pilgrimage to Rome in 1027 — nearly exactly 1,000 years ago — and met Pope John XIX.

During the Sistine Chapel meeting planned for next week, priests from both the Catholic Church and Church of England will pray together — despite the Catholic Church not officially recognizing

Anglican priests as valid — in a show of Ecumenicalism that will also see a choir brought from Windsor Castle sing.
In another link to the pre-reformation relationship between Britain — then England — and Rome, King Charles will also be made a Royal brother of the confraternity of the Abbey at St Paul’s Outside the Walls, an ancient Church that was once closely linked to the English and even ancient pre-ancient monarchies which helped fund its upkeep. The King will receive a private seat at the Basilica with his coat of arms. As noted by Buckingham Palace:

"In further celebration of this new bond, the Basilica of St Paul’s Outside the Walls has created a special seat for His Majesty, which

will remain in the Basilica as a perpetual mark of mutual respect between Pope Leo and The King as Heads of State. The special chair is decorated with His Majesty’s Coat of Arms. The Times notes Saxon King Offa and Æthelwulf in the 8th and 9th centuries were supporters of St Paul’s, sending money for the protection of St Paul’s and St Peter’s tombs."

"A 15 year-old-boy has been arrested after a Colombian senator running to be the country's next president was shot and "critically" injured at a campaign rally in Bogota, authorities have said.

Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, 39, was targeted during the campaign event in a park in the Fontibon area of the Colombian capital.....He suffered two gunshot wounds when armed assailants shot him from behind and appeared to be bleeding from his head as he was helped by aides and people in the crowd, in a video posted on social media.
According to a medical report at the Santa Fe Foundation hospital, he was admitted there in a "critical condition" and is still undergoing a "neurosurgical and peripheral vascular procedure."

"British scientists could experiment with techniques to block sunlight as part of a £50 million government funded scheme to combat global warming.
The geo-engineering project is set to be given the go-ahead within weeks and could see scientists explore techniques including launching clouds of reflective particles into the atmosphere or using seawater sprays to make clouds brighter.

Another method involves thinning natural cirrus clouds, which act as heat-trapping blankets.
If successful, less sunlight will reach the earth’s surface and in turn temporarily cool the surface of earth.
It’s thought to be a relatively cheap way to cool the planet, but critics have warned it could cause catastrophic disruption to weather patterns and even shift rain from areas that are vital for food production.
Other scientists say geo-engineering could reduce the drive to stop burning fossil fuels, which is the root cause of climate change.
The project will be funded by the Advanced Research and Invention Agency, known as ARIA.

Professor Mark Symes, the program director for ARIA, who is heading the geo-engineering project, said: “Decarbonization is vital, but our current progress puts us at risk of triggering a large number of temperature-induced climate tipping points."
Though solar geoengineering treats some of the symptoms of climate change, it is a "barking mad scheme" that feels like "taking aspirin for cancer", said American scientists Raymond Pierrehumbert and Michael Mann in The Guardian. If we become reliant on the technology, "the world will be left subject to a catastrophic termination shock" if the intervention ever ends."

ARCHAEOLOGY: What DA's tell us......

"The period of the Ice Age, called the Pleistocene, presents many

puzzles for secular scientists. Plants and animals from widely different climates or environments are found together in Ice Age deposits. These are called ‘disharmonious associations’ (DAs).

Probably the most striking example of a DA during the Ice Age is the association of hippopotamus fossils with reindeer, musk oxen, and woolly mammoths in England, France, and Germany. So far about 100 of these associations have been discovered in England and Wales. Hippos are intolerant of the cold. Sutcliffe states:

"Finding conditions so favorable, the hippopotamus (today an inhabitant of the equatorial regions) had been able to spread northwards throughout most of England and Wales, up to an altitude of 400 meters on the now bleak Yorkshire [northern England] moors."

---The wide variety of Ice Age animals found in England indicates that early in the Ice Age, there must have been an easy passage between what is now France and England. 

---This was likely a land bridge in the location of the Dover Strait.

Secular scientists attempt to dodge the implications of DAs. Since they believe in multiple ice ages, one strategy is placing the hippos and other warmth-adapted creatures into the ‘interglacial’ phases and the cold-tolerant animals into the ‘glacial’ phases. (We supposedly live in an interglacial called the Holocene.)

Much to secularists’ consternation, warm- and cold-loving animal types are often found together in Ice Age sediments, making it difficult to separate them into glacial and interglacial inhabitants.

Disharmonious associations were the ‘rule’ and not the exception during the Ice Age, and included a wide variety of flora and fauna:

"Late Pleistocene [Ice Age] communities were characterized by the coexistence of species that today are allopatric [live in different regions not climatically associated] and presumably ecologically incompatible. … Disharmonious associations have been documented for late Pleistocene floras … terrestrial invertebrates … lower vertebrates, birds, and mammals."

DAs can only occur in an equable climate, one with little seasonal contrast between winters and summers.

One reason DAs remain a mystery for uniformitarian scientists is that in their models, the ice ages would have been very cold. Many climate simulations have been run. They all give temperatures much colder than today, generally by 10°C (18°F) or more, and greater dryness south of the Northern Hemisphere ice sheets.

"One of the longest-running philosophical debates in paleoecological interpretations concerns the importance of mixed, or disharmonious, assemblages which represent past communities with no modern analog. These mixed assemblages challenge our world views. … Mixed assemblages are usually explained by invoking past climates more “equable” than that of today."

The Ice Age caused by the Genesis Flood explains the most striking DA—hippopotamuses associated with cold-tolerant animals in northwest Europe. Early in the Ice Age a warm, moist onshore air flow pushed by predominantly westerly winds off a warm North Atlantic Ocean would result in a warm, wet climate over northwest Europe. England may have averaged 25°C (77°F) in winter and summer. This mild climate would be congenial for hippos spreading from the “mountains of Ararat” (Genesis 8:4) in the Middle East.

But the post-Flood Ice Age climate was dynamic and ever-changing.

As the ocean cooled and volcanism decreased, the land temperatures cooled. In Northwest Europe late in the Ice Age, the cooler and drier climate attracted cold-tolerant animals. Hippos likely could not migrate south, because the land bridge between England and France at the Dover Strait was destroyed by a catastrophic local flood.

But, once again, realistic analysis using a Genesis-based model of Earth history gives simple, solid answers to those puzzles."

All this is helping to fulfill the following prediction made in the Spirit of Prophecy:
“There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan’s forces. ‘And shall give their power and strength unto the beast.’ Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty—freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience—as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanism.” (Selected Messages, Vol. 3, p. 392).

The same aggressive measures that were used to enforce health mandates during the pandemic will soon be used to enforce Sunday rest. "Protestants in America will join Papal Rome and Spiritualism

Protestant American Churches will form an Image of the Beast
“When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then [apostate] Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result” (The Great Controversy, 445).

American Rulers and Legislators will Yield to the “Popular Demand” for a Sunday Law.
“The dignitaries of church and State will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance” (The Great Controversy, 445).

Comment: The spark for the Sunday Law doesn’t come primarily from a certain American president or Congress, but from the “public.” Rulers and legislators will “yield to the popular demand” for Sunday legislation."

"In many places where the church possesses significant political power, it will often use its influence to advocate for laws that protect what they call the sanctity of Sunday as a day of rest and worship. Such efforts seek to encourage people to focus on religious activities and family time rather than secular pursuits and sports. Historically, these laws were based on religious traditions and reflected the social and moral values of the past. While such laws have gradually relaxed over the years, there is a movement underway that is seeking to

reintroduce Sunday into society.
On June 5, 2024, the Belfast News Letter Today published an article titled “Free Presbyterian Church Accuses Northern Ireland Football League of Anti-Christian ‘Discrimination’ for Staging Matches on Sunday” that called for an end to the desecration of Sunday. 

In other words, playing football on Sunday violates both the Sabbath and discriminates against Christians, neither of which is true.
The Belfast News Letter Today published the following:
• “The Free Presbyterian Church has written to the NI Football League (NIFL) to complain that it is discriminating against practicing Christians by staging matches on the Sabbath.” 
• “The letter says … ‘We, in keeping with the historic position of Protestant Churches hold Sunday to be the Christian Sabbath’.” 
• “We hold it to be a special day and a day that is marked by the worship of God and rest and it has been kept this way by thousands of evangelical Christians for hundreds of years.” 
• “Now, however, with Premiership football matches to be held on Sunday NIFL are robbing Christian fans of the opportunity of supporting their team from week to week and they are closing the door for Christian footballers to be able to play in the top league in Northern Ireland.” 
• “In a day when we are being told that there should be equal opportunities for all, this does not seem to include evangelical Christians.” 
• “We are calling on NIFL to reverse course on the matter of Sunday football.” 
Basically, the argument that the Free Presbyterian Church in Ireland is making is that playing football on Sunday is both immoral and illegal.
These are the types of pressure tactics that the church will use on its citizens in order to revive Sunday laws. As societies grapple with issues like the loss of spirituality, overwork, burnout, and the erosion of family time, there will be renewed interest in preserving Sundays as a day for worship, reflection, and community engagement. The revival of Sunday rest will be driven by a desire to promote a sense of well-being and solidarity in an increasingly fast-paced and spiritually devoid world."
