"I AM the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Ex. 20:2, 3
A: One of these, if not the chief one, is the world. For it is written:
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any
man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15.
And, "Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
James 4:14.
---The reason of this is that "the world" itself has a god and is, in fact, Satan himself.---
Since to truly have Him alone, is to love Him with all the heart, and
all the soul, and all the mind.
Thus utter separation from the world and from all that is of the
world—nothing less than this—is the keeping of the First Commandment. " A.T. Jones
