And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Genesis 7:19
"Palaeontologists have discovered a fossilized 25 ft. mysticete (baleen) whale well above sea level in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. They say the well-preserved animal died around location in the mountains “through the shifting of tectonic plates.”
A well-preserved whale fossil suggests rapid burial in circumstances unseen today, where we see whale carcasses scavenged. After a few years, even the bones are all gone. The evidence suggests a catastrophic, watery event suddenly buried the Santa Cruz whale in sediments.
We would expect such events as a result of the global cataclysmic Flood of Noah. Rapid tectonic movement towards the end of the Flood would have raised the continents and lowered the sea floors, allowing the waters to drain off. The Flood was about 4,500 years ago and lasted a year—not thousands or millions." CMI
