Calendar of Redemption: Feast of Lots (Purim)

Calendar of Redemption

Before the Cross-

Concerning the feasts of the LORD,...   an holy convocation;
ye shall do no work therein:
it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
These are the feasts of the LORD,
even holy convocations,
which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Leviticus 23:4,5

Since the Cross-

Let no man therefore judge you in meat,
or in drink,
or in respect of an holyday,
or of the new moon,
or of the sabbath days:
These are
a shadow of the things that were to come;
the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Colossians 2:16,17 NIV
--Feast of Lots--
14 or 15 Adar (February/March)

The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;
And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.

Esther 9:27,28
NOTES:
Purim was a feast to commemorate the deliverance of the Jews from Haman's plot to have them massacred in the Persian empire. It was queen Esther who implemented the holiday.
Purim is celebrated in most places on 14 Adar except in cities walled since the days of Joshua where it is kept on 15 Adar.
On Purim, Jews today have someone read the book of Esther in synagogue. When the name of Mordecai is read the people cheer. Each time the name of Haman is read the people boo.
It is referred to as the Feast of Lots because Haman cast on which day to execute his plan.

And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the
king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,
To stablish this among them,
that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies,
and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day:
that they should make them days of feasting and joy,
and of sending portions one to another,
and gifts to the poor.
Esther 9:20-22
But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof,
and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested,
and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
On the thirteenth day of the month Adar;
and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they,
and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns,
made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting,
and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
Esther 9:17-19
