But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver,
and over all the precious things of Egypt:
and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Daniel 11:43
Let's put this verse in context.....
1) "Egypt" represents the secular world through Scripture.
2) Here, the "king of the north" is controlling the wealth.
3) It is the "beast"like power within spiritual "Babylon" that controls buying or selling.
4) The wealth/purchasing ability of both the rich & poor are controlled.
And he causeth all,
both small and great, rich and poor,
free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell,
save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast,
or the number of his name.
Ethiopia was a land with gold to the south of Egypt. Lybia was mostly desert wasteland to the west. So here, the Lybians are the "poor" & Ethiopians are the "rich".
In other words, Daniel 11:43 is reinforcing Revelation 13--before it was written!
