They want more than the manna of Heaven-they long for the ways of "Egypt"-via higher criticism methods of Biblical interpretation, reason, tradition, experience & ecumenicalism.
....there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
Numbers 11:6
So you want the "flesh" of "Egypt" do you?
