1) In the Old Testament, only males were in the priesthood. There were women prophetesses, but only men were priests.
2) In the New testament, only males were elders or apostles. There were women prophetesses and deaconesses, but only men were elders (equivalent of pastors today). A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, 1 Timothy 3:2
3) Paul tied this to the Genesis account for his Scriptural authority- But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Timothy 2:12-14
4a) Looking back to the Old Testament, while under a THEOCRACY of direct control from God, the priests were to be males. There was NO cultural relativism. So that modern argument falls flat. (The argument that it was like that in those days but today is different because of the "times" we live in).
4b) Looking ahead to the Nw Testament, Paul looked back to Genesis as his reasoning...Paul didn't use cultural relativism. He could of if he chose to, but he chose NOT to, but rather used SCRIPTURAL authority.
So where does this push for women ordination come from in NAD? It DID NOT COME FROM GOD. When they use words like "equality" they reveal their source...their WORLDLY PC view. It's NOT about equality-it's about roles. The world continues to enter the Church.....
"Eve had been perfectly happy by her husband’s side in her Eden home; but, like restless modern Eves, she was flattered with the hope of entering a higher sphere than that which God had assigned her. In attempting to rise above her original position, she fell far below it. A similar result will be reached by all who are unwilling to take up cheerfully their life duties in accordance with God’s plan. In their efforts to reach positions for which He has not fitted them, many are leaving vacant the place where they might be a blessing. In their desire for a higher sphere, many have sacrificed true womanly dignity and nobility of character, and have left undone the very work that Heaven appointed them."
