Creation Moment 7/3/2021 - DRAGON MAN: Darwinian Storytellers & Playwrights at work again

"The tale of Neanderthals, Denisovans and modern humans shakes up evolutionists again with another skull from China....the Dragon Man from China. If everything you know was wrong then,

everything you know is wronger now. As usual, the news media went ape over the news, but they don’t know this time whether to be excited or confused. 

This big skull, found in 1933, donated to a museum in 2018, and announced Saturday after scientists had a chance to look at it. There is no record of where it was found (a key piece of evidence). Is it related to Neanderthals? Is it a Denisovan male? Is it something else? The papers announcing it call it “Homo longi” but some scientists are unhappy about giving it a new name prematurely.

The single cranium used to describe the species—the largest of any hominin and remarkably well-preserved for being at least 146,000 years old—has a murky history that some experts say limits what conclusions can be drawn about it, but it does add to anthropologists’ understanding of human evolution in Asia during the latter half of the middle Pleistocene, an important period in human expansion.

Scientists hail stunning ‘Dragon Man’ discovery (BBC News). Pallab Ghosh, the professional Darwin hype specialist at the BBC for all things concerning human evolution, gives the skull positive propaganda, as is his style.

Notes: The skull had a brain size “about the same as average” for modern people. Large brow ridges have advantages for protecting eyes and anchoring chewing muscles. Today’s humans may be deprived of those advantages because of accumulated mutations. But the scientists are not even sure about the provenance or date of the skull.

Homo longi: extinct human species that may replace Neanderthals as our closest relatives found in China (The Conversation). Anthony Sinclair from the University of Liverpool accepts the new species name uncritically. He pushes all the dates as facts, not only for this skull but for its ancestors and their ancestors, up to almost a million years back – all from one skull. Trust me, he says.

While the shape of the family tree presented here is likely to stand the test of time, it is still too early to accept these predicted divergence dates as definitive. That said, the research also sheds important light on how human species occurred and spread through the Middle Pleistocene – into all areas of our planet. Crucially, many of these species may have interbreed.

Mysterious skull fossils expand human family tree — but questions remain (Nature). Nicola Jones joins the parade but allows some room for doubt, saying that the Dragon Man skull has “sparked debate.” Note: only moyboys and evolutionists are allowed in the debate.

Newly identified ancestor of Neanderthals complicates the human story (New Scientist). Michael Marshall thinks Dragon Man is an ancestor of Neanderthals just because the discoverers say so. He admits, however, that the story is now more complicated. Why do they even call these hominins? They’re upright-walking, tool-making, intelligent humans, and now the dates are all scrambled up. Doesn’t Mike know that the species names are all obsolete racist labels for people?

The sediments in which the bones were found are between

140,000 and 120,000 years old. Our species had emerged in Africa by this time, and made some forays outside: Homo sapiens specimens from 210,000 years ago have been found in Greece, and a seemingly more sustained population existed in the Israel region from at least 177,000 years ago. But H. sapiens wasn’t the only hominin: Europe and western Asia were home to the Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis), while eastern Asia was home to a related group called the Denisovans.

As expected, all the media reporters who were “in” on the embargo had advance copies of the artwork so that they could appear as insiders with their D-Merit Badges when publishing their versions of the story. The drawings show a muscular male with full beard and long black hair, six-pack abs and big arm guns, holding a stone tool. At least he was probably not competing in women’s sports back in a time when biological sex meant something.

Divination with DNA

The announcement may have scooped a large team from Max Planck Institute that published in Nature an account of the DNA collections in Denisova Cave, Siberia. They think they can reconstruct 300,000 years of occupation of this cave. Do they really think that intelligent upright people who were skilled hunters had nothing else to do for that long? The regurgitators at Medical Xpress do.

When matching the DNA profiles with the ages of the layers, the researchers found that the earliest hominin DNA belonged to Denisovans, indicating that they produced the oldest stone tools at the site between 250,000 and 170,000 years ago. The first Neandertals arrived towards the end of this time period, after which both Denisovans and Neandertals frequented the site—except between 130,000 and 100,000 years ago, when no Denisovan DNA was detected in the sediments. The Denisovans who came back after this time carried a different mitochondrial DNA, suggesting that a different population arrived in the region.

The team had to assume evolution to date the DNA based on the Darwin narrative. The geochronologists collected samples from 700 sites in the cave, and then the evolutionists put them into the standard timeline. Divination experts could tell any story they desire from that kind of mishmash.

This gets so tiring. We already know the play is wrong, because all the previous acts have been overturned. The Darwin Party carries on its busy work incessantly, because they have job security as storytellers and playwrights. Some day one hopes this whole enterprise will be tossed into the trash bin of history as a monumental waste of time. More regrettable, though, is that all these props have been used in Darwin’s theater of the absurd to mislead generations of students. We need to shed light, all right. Take off the roof and let the sunshine in. It will overwhelm the theater’s gimmicks and send the perpetrators running for the darkness that they love." CEH

So, you can see that this life which all men have for the mere passing moment, is not real life: it is “even a vapor.” And this death that we meet when that vapor “vanisheth away” is not real death: it is a sleep.

Those 3 Great Mistakes

"Notice three great mistakes made by different parties in connection with the trial of Jesus, each having its special lesson.

1. Peter’s sell-confidence made a coward of him when he came to the test. Knowing the Lord and loving Him, he yet denied the truth,

because the flesh failed him.

2. The prejudices of the priests and rulers made them blind to all truth and honor, and while their attitude was in itself a confession that they were wrong, they so deceived themselves that they knew not what they did.

3. Pilate's love of office and position led him to yield to the clamor of prejudice, although he knew what he ought to have done. He knew Jesus was a just man, and half feared that He might be more than man, but—he would endanger his position if he did right.

Here are lessons 

(1) for followers of the Lord who trust in their own ability and knowledge of the form of the truth, 

(2) for those whose prejudices refuse to let them investigate the truth with open hearts,  

(3) and for any whose positions may appear to stand in the way of right doing.

"Until recently, scientists did not think it was possible for a stellar black hole to have a mass larger than 20 times that of the sun.

But that assumption was metaphorically crushed in the gravity of a “monster” black hole that scientists discovered inside our own galaxy. The hole has a mass 70 times that of the sun.

“No one has ever seen a 70-solar-mass stellar black hole anywhere,” Joel Bregman, one of the study authors and a professor of astronomy at the University of Michigan, said in an interview. “This is the first.” 

 The newly discovered black hole, named LB-1.....“Black holes of such mass should not even exist in our Galaxy, according to most of the current models of stellar evolution,” Liu Jifeng, a professor...“… Now theorists will have to take up the challenge of explaining its formation.” 

Our own galaxy, the Milky Way, has a supermassive black hole in the center that has a mass of about 4 million suns. How supermassives form is unclear, Bregman said...." ePocket

Lesson from Death of Adam part 2

"Because Adam wickedly became a sinner, and brought himself into a state of alienation from God, the doom was pronounced upon him, “Thou shall surely die.” 

 

Could this mean that he should suffer the punishment of eternal

death? If so, Adam never could have been ‘released therefrom. But he is to be released from the death incurred by his transgression; for “in Christ,” the Scriptures assure us, all shall again “be made alive.”  

 

These two installments, then, “death spiritual” and “death eternal,” utterly fail when brought to the test of the language in which the sentence is expressed: 

one is not reasonable, 

and the other not possible.  

 

Temporal death, then, alone remains to be considered; but the interpretation which is given to this completely nullifies the penalty, and makes Satan to have been correct when he said, “Thou shall not surely die.” 

--Temporal death is interpreted to mean the separation of the soul from the body; the body alone to die, but the soul, which is called the real, responsible man, to enter upon an enlarged and higher life, which is to continue forever. In this case, there is no death; and the sentence should have read, In the day thou eats thereof, thou shall be freed from the clog of this mortal body, and enter upon a new and eternal life. 

 

So said Satan, “You shall not surely die but you shall be as gods;” and true to this assertion from the father of lies, the heathen have all along deified their dead men, and worshiped their departed heroes.

2nd Phase of the Judgment part 2

"There is in this statement respecting the thrones, an evident allusion

to Daniel 7:9, which speaks of thrones being “cast down,” or,more correctly rendered, “were placed,” as many able critics inform us.  

 

These thrones were placed for the judgment work, when entered upon, as we have seen, in the second apartment of the heavenly temple of God the Father. 

 

And when the judgment is given to the immortal saints, and they are able to enter the temple after the outpouring of the plagues (Revelation 15:8), it appears that they sit upon the thrones thus placed for them, and with the Savior at their head finish the work of the judgment as indicated in the text examined. 

 

---They are, in this exalted state, priests to God and Christ, not as mediators with them in behalf of wicked men, but as worshipers of God and the Lamb, even as Christians in their mortal state are a royal priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God, by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5,9.  

 

The reason why so vast a period as 1,000 years intervenes between the resurrection of the righteous and the resurrection of the wicked, is now made very apparent. The work committed to the saints demands no less a period than that assigned it by the Holy Scriptures. It is that they examine the books of God’s records to determine the measure of guilt of each wicked man, and of every fallen angel. 

--- To this great exaltation the psalmist refers in these words:- “For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; 

let them sing aloud upon their beds. 

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written; this honor have all his saints. Praise you the Lord.” Psalm 149:4-9.

Health Note - REST Protein, Your Pumps, Sodium & Potassium

"So far, research has suggested that severely limiting calorie intake

can have a beneficial effect, as can manipulating certain genes in laboratory animals. 

 

But recently in Nature, Bruce Yankner, a professor of genetics and neurology at Harvard Medical School, and his colleagues reported on a previously overlooked controller of life span: the activity level of neurons in the brain. In a series of experiments on roundworms, mice and human brain tissue, they found that a protein called REST, which controls the expression of many genes related to neural firing, also controls life span. 

They also showed that boosting the levels of the equivalent of REST in worms lengthens their lives by making their neurons fire more quietly and with more control. How exactly overexcitation of neurons might shorten life span remains to be seen, but the effect is real and its discovery suggests new avenues for understanding the aging process. 

 

A key early finding was that the inactivation of a gene called daf-2 was fundamental to extending the life span of the worms. “daf-2 mutants were the most amazing things I had ever seen. They were active and healthy and they lived more than twice as long as

normal,” Kenyon wrote in a reflection on these experiments. “It seemed magical but also a little creepy: they should have been dead, but there they were, moving around.” This gene and a second one called daf-16 are both involved in producing these effects in worms. 

By 1997, researchers had discovered that in worms daf-2 is part of a family of receptors that send signals triggered by insulin, the hormone that controls blood sugar, and the structurally similar hormone IGF-1, insulin-like growth factor 1; daf-16 was farther down that same chain. Tracing the equivalent pathway in mammals, scientists found that it led to a protein called FoxO, which binds to the DNA in the nucleus, turning a shadowy army of genes on and off. 

 

 Some years later, they realized that many of the changes they’d seen were caused by a protein called REST.  

--REST, which turns genes off, was mainly known for its role in the development of the fetal brain: It represses neuronal genes until the young brain is ready for them to be expressed.

But that’s not the only time it’s active. “We discovered in 2014 that [the REST gene] is actually reactivated in the aging brain,” Yankner said. 

 

To understand how the REST protein does its job, imagine that the network of neurons in the brain is engaged in something like the party game Telephone. 

--Each neuron is covered with proteins and molecular channels that enable it to fire and pass messages. 

--When one neuron fires, it releases a flood of neurotransmitters that excite or inhibit the firing of the next neuron down the line. 

--REST inhibits the production of some of the proteins and channels involved in this process, reining in the excitation.

 

In their study, published in October 2019, Yankner and his colleagues report that the brains of long-lived humans have unusually low levels of proteins involved in excitation, at least in comparison with the brains of people who died much younger. This finding suggests that the exceptionally old people probably had less neural firing. To investigate this association in more detail, Yankner’s team turned to C. elegans. They compared neural activity in the splendidly long-lived daf-2 mutants with that of normal worms and saw that firing levels in the daf-2 animals were indeed very different. 

 

“They were almost silent. They had very low neural activity compared to normal worms,” Yankner said, noting that neural activity usually increases with age in worms. “This was very interesting, and sort of parallels the gene expression pattern we saw in the extremely old humans.”

 

When the researchers gave normal roundworms drugs that suppressed excitation, it extended their life spans. Genetic manipulation that suppressed inhibition — the process that keeps neurons from firing — did the reverse.

Yankner and his colleagues found that in worms the life extension effect depended on a very familiar bit of DNA: daf-16. This meant that REST’s trail had led the researchers back to that highly important aging pathway, as well as the insulin/IGF-1 system. 

 “It is intriguing that something as transient as the activity state of a neural circuit could have such a major physiological influence on something as protean as life span,” Yankner said." QuantaMagazine 

 

"During the resting membrane potential there are:

• more sodium ions (Na$^+$start superscript, plus, end superscript) outside than inside the neuron
• more potassium ions (K$^+$start superscript, plus, end superscript) inside than outside the neuron

The concentration of ions isn’t static though! Ions are flowing in and out of the neuron constantly as the ions try to equalize their concentrations. The cell however maintains a fairly consistent negative concentration gradient (between -40 to -90 millivolts). How?

• The neuron cell membrane is super permeable to potassium ions,
  
  and so lots of potassium leaks out of the neuron through potassium leakage channels (holes in the cell wall).
• The neuron cell membrane is partially permeable to sodium ions, so sodium atoms slowly leak into the neuron through sodium leakage channels.
• The cell wants to maintain a negative resting membrane potential, so it has a pump that pumps potassium back into the cell and pumps sodium out of the cell at the same time.

During the resting state (before an action potential occurs) all of the gated sodium and potassium channels are closed. These gated channels are different from the leakage channels, and only open once an action potential has been triggered. We say these channels are “voltage-gated” because they are open and closed depends on the voltage difference across the cell membrane. Voltage-gated sodium channels have two gates (gate m and gate h), while the potassium channel only has one (gate n).

• Gate m (the activation gate) is normally closed, and opens when the cell starts to get more positive.
• Gate h (the deactivation gate) is normally open, and swings shut when the cells gets too positive.
• Gate n is normally closed, but slowly opens when the cell is depolarized (very positive).

Voltage-gated sodium channels exist in one of three states:

1. Deactivated (closed) - at rest, channels are deactivated. The m gate is closed, and does not let sodium ions through.
2. Activated (open) - when a current passes through and changes the voltage difference across a membrane, the channel will activate and the m gate will open.
3. Inactivated (closed) - as the neuron depolarizes, the h gate swings shut and blocks sodium ions from entering the cell.

From figures given above then, we can estimate:

0.44 = 0.8 * 0.16/spike_rate(brain)

spike_rate(brain) = 0.8 * 0.16 /0.44 = 0.29

Or for a high estimate:

0.44 = 0.8 * 1/spike_rate(brain)

spike_rate(brain) = 0.8 * 1 /0.44 = 1.82

So based on this rough extrapolation from neocortical firing rates, we expect average firing rates across the brain to be around 0.29 per second, and probably less than 1.82 per second." A1

"The European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights released this month an investigative report into pro-life funding in Europe. The forum, known as the EPF, published its report, called "Tip of the Iceberg," on June 15, less than two weeks before Thursday's parliamentary vote on sexual and reproductive rights.

The EPF's investigation discredits dozens of Christian and human rights organizations, labeling them "anti-gender funding actors active in Europe." The EPF goes on to portray a global pro-life movement as one aiming to "roll back human rights in Europe."

"The picture that emerges is of a transnational community of like-minded religious extremists and related alt- and far-right actors making strategic funding decisions across international borders," the forum's report asserts.

The forum also claims to expose a vast network of ultra-conservatives supposedly conspiring to not only oppress women but also the "LGBTI" community by promoting traditional family values and the dignity of human life."

Bayr, an Austrian member of Parliament, clearly laid out the forum's progressive anti-life agenda aimed at criminalizing conservatives. 

"The wealth of these traditionalists is used to denigrate and thwart their progressive opponents, finance communications and advocacy efforts as well as litigation aiming to intimidate those who have an enlightened approach to sexuality and the human body," claimed Bayr.

The report's list of these "traditionalists" — to name just a few — includes a slew of human rights groups including:

• ADF International
• The Federalist Society
• Human Life International
• Acton Institute
• World Youth Alliance Europe
• Heritage Foundation

"Men dressed as women and others held a Pride Eucharist last week at the intersection of Market and Castro in San Francisco.

Two of the men who were in drag are Christian pastors, and it appears a priest also attended. 

The "organizers found a Catholic priest to consecrate the hosts beforehand," according to Mark Guevarra.

The sacrilegious service also included "Queer Beatitudes," like:

• "Blessed are the boi dykes" 
• "Blessed are the sex workers" 
• "Blessed are the hot fat girls"

Meanwhile, across the country, Pride Masses are occurring in other dioceses like New Jersey's archdiocese of Newark." CM

IN the NEWS - U.S. Miliatry Forced "Pride Hike"

"Active duty members of the Navy in San Diego were forced to take part in a mandatory ‘diversity hike’ during which they flew LGBT flags while American flags were nowhere to be seen....the event was promoted by the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 303, which celebrated “Pride Month” with a “Pride Hike” at Sunset Cliff last week.

The servicemembers were made to carry a version of the LGBT flag which incorporates the stars and stripes, although no actual American flag was flown. A photo from the hike shows one of the men turning away from the camera, perhaps in protest at being forced to be involved.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently appeared before a House Armed Services Committee where he faced accusations that the U.S. military was going “woke”.

While attempting to deny the claim, Milley actually did everything to confirm it was true while also insisting he wanted to understand “white rage,” a concept invented by left-wing extremists as part of Critical Race Theory to denigrate white people.

As we highlighted last week, Nellis Air Force base responded to controversy about a drag queen show hosted by the base by saying the performance was “essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military.” NW

climate change encyclical Laudato Si’. 

 

Pope Francis pays tribute to Sunday and to nature:

“Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs” (Laudato Si, paragraph #1). 

Laudato Si’ is full of pantheistic references to nature worship:

“Everything is related, and we human beings are united as brothers and sisters on a wonderful pilgrimage, woven together by the love God has for each of his creatures and which also unites us in fond affection with brother sun, sister moon, brother river and mother earth.” (Laudato Si, paragraph #92).

Pope Francis also exalts Sunday in his encyclical as a day to connect us to the earth:

“On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special

importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world.” (Laudato Si, paragraph #237)." AdventMessenger

"Alicia Johnston is a former pastor from the Arizona Conference of

Seventh-day Adventists. She resigned from the ministry after coming out as a member of the LGBT+ community.  She has now published a new book called “The Bible & LGBTQ Adventists” which, according to her, “challenges the prevailing SDA beliefs.” Alicia Johnston calls for “full affirmation of same-sex marriage and transgender identity.” She says that it is NOT “biblical to oppose same-sex marriage or transgender identity” and that Seventh-day Adventists have “gotten this question completely wrong.” 

What is most concerning about this is that this new LGBT+ affirming theology book has the support of former and current pastors and church administrators. There is a section on Alicia Johnston’s page that lists current Adventist ministers who “endorse” her book. The following names are listed on the fundraising page for the new book “The Bible & LGBTQ Adventists” as those who endorse her views:

• Reinder Bruinsma, retired Adventist pastor and administrator in the Netherlands, scholar, and author
• John McClarty, Adventist Pastor at Green Lake Church

Then we have Pastor Kevin McGill who is the pastor of the Troy Seventh-day Adventist Church in Troy, ID. In a Tweet, Pastor Kevin is not only promoting Alicia Johnston’s book, but he is also directing people to Alicia Johnston’s fundraising page.

 

Spectrum Magazine celebrated this new book last week in honor of Pride month. Of course they did.

 

Liberal adventism (notice the lower case) has made up it’s mind. It likes homosexuality.

Not necessarily the act(s) of homosexuality, but they like rebellion and the unholy excitement that it brings to their dry, lukewarm lives.

They like the way that it shakes people’s confidence in the Bible as the Word and will of God Almighty. This allows them to recommend culture as a trustworthy canon.
