Creation Moment 9/21/2023 - The Math of it ALL

"God’s Word of command has immediate fulfilment as its consequence. So, for example, we read in Psalm 33:9:
“For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.”

The time question may also be deduced logically—imagine two students confronted by a difficult problem to solve. One of them is highly intelligent, the other only just managed, with great difficulty, to finish school. 

Which one will complete the task more quickly? 

The intelligent one, of course! 

We readily recognize that with increasing intelligence I, less time T is required for the solution. This could be mathematically expressed as, for example, T = f, which is a hyperbolic function of the type T is proportional to 1/I, i.e. T ∝ 1/I. 

The curve described by the equation T = 1/I  is known as a hyperbola. Fig. 1 shows that this curve is asymptotic to both the horizontal axis (Time = T) and the vertical axis (Intelligence = I). 

Two conclusions arise from this:

1. Creation: 

---If someone is infinitely intelligent (I = ∞) 

---and in addition is also infinitely powerful, 

then the time required for the task is no longer any time at all (T = 0). 

The Bible repeatedly testifies that God is both: all-knowing and all-powerful. On the basis of this readily understandable hyperbolic law God would thus need no time at all to create everything that exists.

God nonetheless took considerable time to create—six entire days, with evening and morning. He did so for this single reason, He wanted to establish an analogy to accompany the following commandment of His, brought down from Mt Sinai by Moses:
“Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work” (Exodus 20:9–10).
In verse 11, this divine analogy is expressed:
“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.”

2. Evolution: 

The hyperbolic form of the curve reveals something else of importance.

 ---it would take infinitely long for it to generate something truly new.

The General Secretariat of the Synod intends to make its contribution to the conservation of creation by choices that will offset the residual CO2 emissions produced by the upcoming XVI General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, the Vatican declared.

Part of the CO2 emissions from the October synod will be offset thanks to “a carbon ‘credit,’ thus balancing the accumulated ‘debt,’” the Vatican statement said.

The statement said that the Vatican will be assisted in this endeavor through the financial support of the SOS Planet Foundation and the technical contribution of LifeGate.

The project chosen to compensate Vatican emissions will entail the distribution of “efficient cooking stoves and water purification technologies to households, communities and institutions” in Nigeria and Kenya, the statement said.

Pope Francis has been a vocal supporter of the idea of a “carbon tax” and has urged first world nations to pay the “ecological debt” they

owe to poorer nations.

Francis warned of terrible consequences if humanity does not avert the threat of climate change.....The cost of carbon usage must be paid here and now and not deferred for future generations to cover, he contended....We cannot overlook “the ‘ecological debt’ that exists especially between the global north and south,” the pontiff said to participants in a meeting of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund." Creation Moment 9/19/2023 - Laziness of Darwinians

"Ornithologists at Rockefeller worked hard. For years, they worked to collect songbirds. They gave them a battery of tests to measure their problem solving abilities, and also measured their brain sizes as well.

This was fine; it’s legit scientific research. But then they ruined it all by using the e-word evolved as a cop-out for rigorous explanation.

The suspect this time is Erich Jarvis, leader of the Jarvis Lab at Rockefeller, who cranks up the perhapsimaybecouldness index as an excuse for laziness:

"Overall, the findings suggest that vocal learning, problem solving, and brain size may have evolved in tandem, perhaps as a way of increasing biological fitness. Based on these findings, as well as earlier work on the ability of vocal learners to dance to a rhythmic beat, Jarvis is now calling this collection of traits the “vocal learning cognitive complex”.

“Our findings help support a previously unproven notion: that the evolution of a complex behavior like spoken language, which depends on vocal learning, is associated with co-evolution of other complex behaviors,” Jarvis says.

Since Darwin’s mechanism equates to the Stuff Happens Law, this is equivalent to saying that traits “may have happened by coincidence” and that “the accidental happening of a complex behavior coincided with another accidental happening.” 

Lazy! 

Q: Since when do complex traits like vocal learning, problem solving and brain size happen by accident? Jarvis just indicted himself.

ARCHAEOLOGY: Atheistic Interpretation Goes Marxist

"War originated when society became stratified between the haves

and the have-nots, according to a new theory by anthropologist Joyce Marcus of the University of Michigan, published in PNAS1, reports New Scientist. 

Based on archaeological work in Oaxaca, Mexico, where her team examined burned structures, she feels that raiding, and later warfare, emerged where people organized into clans that competed over resources. Group violence was presumably rare in hunter-gatherer societies.

The conclusions being drawn from this archaeological study is “political” science in the Marxist tradition. 

Hunter-gatherers of the world, unite!

Building on Darwin’s foundation of evolution, some reporters are spinning the story to fit a political ideology. The liberal “political” scientists in today’s universities, assuming evolution as the foundation for all of reality, want to pin the blame for war on externals. 

It’s the disparity between the rich and the poor that is the root of

conflict, they say. 

They organize people into oppressors and oppressed, usurpers and victims. Affluence is the root of social injustice. Now that we can take control of our own evolution, we can overcome the territoriality of our reptilian past. But first we must overthrow the oppressors by revolution, and establish a dictatorship of the proletariat. Once we learn to share our resources like good communists, we will achieve social justice in a classless society – utopia.

Don’t believe it. The moment Joe finds something in utopia that Moe wants, whether a leaf, a sparkling rock, or a fruit hanging from a tree, the world will be on the brink of war all over again. The twentieth century should have seen the death of 19th-century utopian dreams of innocence. 

War did not evolve. 

It is innate. 

It stems from a human characteristic formed not by natural selection, but by design: the choice to disobey the Creator (i.e., sin). “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies,” said Jesus Christ in Matthew 15:15-20. 

James echoed the idea that war begins internally: “What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? Creation Moment 9/18/2023 - Severe Problem for "Big Bang"

"Two physicists have suggested in a recent New York Times guest

editorial that Big Bang cosmology ‘may be starting to unravel.’

Dr. Adam Frank (University of Rochester) and Dr. Marcelo Gleiser (Dartmouth College) give an overview of three major problems confronting mainstream cosmology—problems which are already well known to well-informed creationists.

In their editorial, Drs. Frank and Gleiser acknowledged that data from the James Webb Space Telescope show that the most distant galaxies seem much too ‘mature’ to be in agreement with Big Bang expectations. 

Big Bang proponents assume that light from the most distant galaxies took many billions of years to reach us. 

Given that assumption, we should not be seeing these very distant galaxies as they are now, but as they were more than 13 billion years ago. 

Hence, these very distant galaxies should look very ‘immature’ and ‘unevolved.’ Yet these expectations are routinely contradicted. And data from the Webb telescope have greatly exacerbated the problem.

Drs. Frank and Gleiser said the problem is “akin to parents and their children appearing in a story when the grandparents are still children themselves.”

The problem is so severe that one physicist suggested doubling the assumed age of the universe in order to try to solve the problem.

They also pointed out that two different methods of estimating the Hubble constant, one of the most important numbers in cosmology, give contradictory values. 

One of the methods uses a Big Bang interpretation of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation, so this discrepancy may imply that Big Bang cosmologists are misinterpreting the CMB data.

They noted some of the philosophical baggage accompanying modern inflation theory, like the idea of a multiverse containing infinitely many unobservable universes. 

Inflation was tacked-on ad hoc to the Big Bang in order to solve serious problems, one of which was the Big Bang’s own version of the ‘distant starlight problem.’ Yet there is zero evidence for inflation, and it has created more problems for Big Bang cosmologists.

Just one year ago, a popular science writer said it was a ‘falsehood’

that data from the James Webb telescope had disproved the Big Bang. One could perhaps quibble over the use of the word ‘disproved,’ as Big Bang cosmologists have been extremely adept over the years at absorbing challenges to their model with ad hoc tack-ons. 

Big Bang true believers can always add still more parameters to their model so that the Big Bang will never be disproven or falsified, regardless of any data accumulated. 

But is that really science? 

The same writer who suggested that Big Bang critics were being deceptive also said that the “Big Bang theory is still on solid ground.” This New York Times editorial shows that the Big Bang critics were and are correct: the model is not on solid ground, despite ‘happy talk’ to the contrary.

Christ, not an alleged Big Bang, deserves the credit and glory for the amazing universe in which we live." ICR

Polar Dinosaurs

"Polar dinosaurs refer to dinosaur fossils found within the polar

latitudes. In the Southern Hemisphere, polar latitudes would also include southeast Australia, New Zealand, and the Chatham Islands where dinosaur fossils have been found. existence of polar dinosaurs has raised at least four conundrums for the evolutionary paradigm. For instance, climate models indicate the polar latitudes would have been very cold during the Cretaceous winter, while the paleoflora and paleofauna indicate temperatures had to have been above freezing all year around:

“Paleobotanical evidence clearly indicates that during much of the Cretaceous northern polar temperatures on lands surrounding the Arctic Ocean were above freezing during the polar night. … Evidence for very warm Arctic Ocean waters (15 to 20°C) has been presented by Jenkyns et al. (2004). Proxy data indicating ocean temperatures of 30°C at 60°S latitude (Bice et al., 2003) supports the idea of warm poles during much of the Cretaceous.”

Hay believes that lower topography, higher ocean levels, and greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, would have maintained above-freezing winter temperatures. 

He also erroneously thinks that, considering the average lapse rate of the atmosphere of 6°C/km, the lower topography would have resulted in warm polar night temperatures. Even if this lapse rate could be applied, it would not have warmed the Arctic much because the air was so cold to begin with. As far as lower topography is concerned, the continental areas of North America and Eurasia are relatively low anyway. Besides, the polar night causes a temperature inversion to which the average atmospheric lapse rate would not apply. 

---Despite all the possible variables that could be applied to cause polar warmth, the cold winter temperatures depend especially on one variable: the angle of the sun, and the evolutionary model cannot do anything about that for the Cretaceous.

Q: why would dinosaurs have even lived there, considering that most scientists believe dinosaurs to have been warm-climate animals? Polar dinosaurs have unleashed much speculation on Arctic coping mechanisms.

Q: With long periods of darkness and photosynthesis cut off—and the resulting loss of vegetation—what would they have eaten?

The Creation/Flood model has the most plausible explanation for why

we find polar dinosaurs. 

The most likely explanation is the dinosaurs and the paleoflora were transported northward on Flood currents during the Inundatory Stage of the Flood.

In addition, very thick sediments, well over 10 km thick, are found on the Arctic margin, indicating immense northward erosion and transport of sediment from Alaska, pointing to northward currents at times during the Flood."

Q: WHY is there Beauty in Nature and WHY do we have the senses to OBSERVE and PROCESS it?

Q: If we came from primordial soup via the "sophisticated" voodoo of Time + Chance, what sense would that make for Beauty?

Thus saith God the LORD,
