Why the lack of green stars? According to AstronomyMagazine, the reason is because our eyes have 3 color cones for receptors-blue, red & green. They respond to the wavelength of light. And since the stars at the green wavelength emit almost as much blue & red, the green is washed out and it appears a blur of colors-white.
