Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was
admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle:
Hebrews 8:5
The Most Beautiful of Doctrines
It is simple:* The 2,300 days (years) had a specific starting point.
* The Messiah cut off in the midst of the 70th week was Christ crucified, the first article of furniture in the outlay of the Sanctuary (plan of redemption) which was the Cross.
* Next, we are told at the end of the time period, the Sanctuary would be cleansed. It was cleansed once a year on the day of atonement, which Jews called Yom Kippur (Day of Judgment).
* The Shadow of these things (the plan of redemption laid out in the sanctuary) began with the cross (altar of sacrifice) and ends with the actual process of the atonement (Judgment) to cleanse the sanctuary once & for all.
Don't listen to "scholars" or others, who claim Dan. 8:14 was just a judgment of the little horn. On the day of the cleansing it was God's people who were judged-(not Egypt, Babylon, the Greek city states, Rome, Persia, etc.). The cross began the actual process of which the sanctuary economy was a "shadow" of. That process ends with an actual cleansing of the sanctuary too.
The Bible was given for you to read, not just to "scholars".

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3
"Mysteries into which angels desire to look, the remnant church will carry in messages from God to the world." Testimonies for the Church vol.6, p.19 E.G.W.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did
minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached
the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the
angels desire to look into.
