1. The first use is to convince the world of sin. 

2. The second use of the law is to bring us back to life, through faith in Christ, so that we may live. 

3. The third use of the law is to “keep us alive.” 

4. The law is “of unspeakable use, first, in convincing us of the sin

that yet remains both in our hearts and lives, and thereby keeping us close to Christ, that His blood may cleanse us every moment; secondly, in deriving strength from our Head into His living members, whereby He empowers them to do what His law commands; and thirdly, in confirming our hope of whatsoever it commands and we have not yet attained, of receiving grace upon grace, till we are in actual possession of the fullness of His promises.” 

5. The law shows every true believer the truth more and more clearly.

6. Illustrated using “You shall not kill.” 

7. “Therefore I cannot spare the law one moment, no more than I can spare Christ; seeing I now want it as much to keep me to Christ as ever I wanted it to bring me to Him.”

8. Who are you, then, to judge or speak evil of the law? 

9. If you are convinced that the law is holy, just, and good, cling to it all the more. “And if your Lord has already fulfilled His word, if He has already ‘written His law in your heart’, then ‘stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free.’”

"The Australian government is facing fierce criticism from pro-life advocates for a welfare policy that pays women up to $22,754 to abort their healthy babies after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

The policy, administered through Centrelink, allows women who undergo late-term abortions to claim either a Stillborn Baby Payment of $4,327 or Parental Leave Pay totaling $22,754, provided the abortion is certified as a stillbirth.
This payment structure, originally designed to support families grieving a stillborn child, has been extended to cases where women intentionally kill health babies after 20 weeks, often by injecting the baby’s heart with potassium chloride or digoxin to stop it before inducing labor.
“Killing a baby after 20 weeks and up until birth entails injecting the baby’s heart with potassium chloride or digoxin and is followed by the early induction of labor of that now stillborn baby,” said Dr. Joanna Howe, a pro-life lawyer, in The Daily Declaration. “This is a deliberate and wilful act to kill a healthy baby very late in pregnancy and deliver them stillborn.”

Creation Moment 8/7/2025 - Why the Surprise on Witch Hazel Hill

"Spotting nearly flawless spheres on the Martian surface is a rare occurrence for a rover. More than twenty years ago, NASA’s Opportunity rover made headlines after finding hematite-rich spherules (nicknamed “blueberries”) near its landing site in Meridiani Planum. 

Now, the Perseverance rover has come across a similar surprise: small spherical formations, some embedded in bedrock and others scattered loosely across an area informally known as “Witch Hazel Hill.”

In an earlier update, the team highlighted Perseverance’s close-up study of a spherule-bearing rock formation at a site called “Hare Bay,” where a core sample was later collected. After adding the “Bell Island” core to its collection, the science team turned its attention to the loose spherules in the surrounding terrain, which seem to have weathered out of nearby rock layers.

Despite their superficial similarity to Opportunity’s “blueberries,” the spherules at “Rowsell Hill” have a very different composition and likely origin. 

In Meridiani Planum, the spherules were composed of the mineral hematite and were interpreted to have formed in groundwater-saturated sediments in Mars’ distant past.
By comparison, the spherules in “Rowsell Hill” have a basaltic composition and likely formed during a meteoroid impact or volcanic eruption. When a meteoroid crashes into the surface of Mars, it can melt rock and send molten droplets spraying into the air. Those droplets can then rapidly cool, solidifying into spherules that rain down on the surrounding area. Alternatively, the spherules may have formed from molten lava during a volcanic eruption.

If they instead formed during a volcanic eruption, they could preserve clues about past volcanism in the region around Jezero crater."

1. The law is holy, just, and good. 

2. It is holy: “‘pure religion and undefiled’; or the pure, clean, unpolluted worship of God.” 

3. Because the law is holy, it is enmity to sin 

4. This is why Paul objects so strongly to the suggestion that the law is sin or causes sin. Rather, the law reveals sin.

5. The law is just, rendering each their due. 

6. Wesley acknowledges the question of whether the will of God causes the law and creates right and wrong. “Is a thing therefore right because God wills it? Or does He will it be cause it is right?” 

7. The difficulty of the question comes from thinking about God’s will as something distinct from God. “But the will of God is God himself.” 

8. “The law then is right and just concerning all things. And it is good as well as just.” The law is good because it comes from God.

9. The law is good “in its effects, as well as in its nature.”

The committee’s General Comment No. 27, adopted on July 3, asserts that governments must ensure children’s access to “safe abortion and post-abortion care services” without parental consent.
The document claims that denying abortion access violates children’s rights to health, life, privacy, and freedom from discrimination, urging states to decriminalize abortion and remove barriers such as parental consent laws.

"Researchers have mapped the complete pathway for sensing cool temperatures from skin to brain, revealing a spinal cord amplifier and raising new possibilities for treating cold-induced pain.

Scientists at the University of Michigan have identified a full sensory circuit that explains how the skin detects cool temperatures and sends that information to the brain.

According to the research team, this is the first time a complete neural pathway dedicated specifically to cool sensations has been mapped. The finding suggests that separate biological systems are responsible for sensing heat and cold..... more than 70% of people who have undergone chemotherapy experience pain caused by cool temperatures, Duan said. The new study found that the neural circuit responsible for sensing innocuous cool does not mediate this type of cold pain. But, in understanding how the cool-sensing circuitry works when it’s functioning properly under normal conditions, researchers now have a better chance of discovering what goes wrong in disease or injury. It could also help develop targeted therapies that restore healthy sensation without impairing normal temperature perception."

1. The law and the commandment are sometimes taken to be different things, but they are the same. And neither is the same thing as the ceremonial law. 

2. The law mentioned in Romans 7 is not the Mosaic dispensation.

3. “This law is an incorruptible picture of the high and holy One that inhabits eternity. It is He whom in His essence no man has seen or can see, made visible to men and angels.” 

4. The law is “divine virtue and wisdom assuming a visible form.” 

5. From another vantage point, the law is “supreme, un changeable reason; it is unalterable rectitude; it is the ever lasting fitness of all things that are or ever were created.” 

6. “The law of God…is a copy of the eternal mind, a transcript of the divine nature.”

"Astronomers have confirmed the existence of a rare, retrograde-orbiting planet in a tight binary star system.
Most stars throughout the Universe are part of binary or multiple star systems. In these systems, a nearby companion star can make it difficult for planets to form and remain in stable orbits around just one of the stars.

They identified a planet orbiting in the opposite direction of its binary stars’ movement, known as a retrograde orbit, within the nu Octantis binary system.
The nu Octantis system contains two closely bound stars. The primary star, nu Oct A, is a subgiant with approximately 1.6 times the mass of the Sun. Its companion, nu Oct B, has roughly half the Sun’s mass. Together, the two stars complete an orbit around each other every 1,050 days.

This signal was consistent with the presence of a Jovian planet of about twice the mass of Jupiter orbiting around the primary star, nu Oct A, with a period of about 400 days. 

However, the existence of this planet has been controversial because its orbit would be so wide that it could only remain stable if it were retrograde and moved in the opposite direction to the orbit of the binary. There were no observational precedents for such a planet and strong theoretical grounds against its formation."

Notes on Wesley's Sermon on the Law SERIES: The Origin of the Law

1. The moral law goes back even before creation “even be yond the foundation of the world.” 

2. The moral law was given to angelic minds “to make way for a continual increase of their happiness; seeing every in stance of

obedience to that law would both add to the perfection of their nature and entitle them to a higher reward, which the righteous Judge would give in its season.” 

3. When God created humans, He gave them the same law, written “in the inmost spirit both of men and of angels.” 

4. When humans broke the moral law “God did not despise the work of His own hands; but being reconciled to man scribed the law on the heart of His dark, sinful creature.” 

5. God then chose a particular people “to whom He gave a more perfect knowledge of the law. And the heads of this, because they were slow of understanding, He wrote on tables of stone.” 

6. Today we hear the law of God with our ears, but it must be revealed by the Spirit of God. “Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel. . . I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

Capella, a 58-year-old Italian priest, was investigated by U.S. and Canadian authorities for almost two years for gathering and sharing child pornography while a senior diplomat at the Holy See’s embassy in Washington. In 2017, the U.S. State Department asked the Vatican to waive his diplomatic immunity, a request it denied. Instead, Capella was recalled to Rome, where he admitted to tracking down “repugnant” images and, in a rare Vatican criminal trial a year later, was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison.

In recent weeks, reports have emerged on Catholic blogs of his 2022 release and quiet return to work at the Holy See’s Secretariat of State. His restoration to the powerful department has outraged advocates for the survivors of abuse by Catholic clerics. They insist that even though he was never accused of sexual abuse, a convicted priest who consumed child pornography has no place in a prominent Vatican office.

Capella’s attorney, Roberto Borgogno, said in an interview that his client was released a year early, in the first part of 2022, for “good behavior” and resumed work at the secretariat in January 2023. Pope Francis, Borgogno said, approved Capella’s return and had at least one direct post-release conversation with him about his contrition." msn

Creation Moment 8/4/2025 - The Fundamentally Important Question

How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. 1 Kings 18:21

"Anti-creationists, such as atheists by definition, commonly object that creation is religion and evolution is science. To defend this claim they will cite a list of criteria that define a ‘good scientific theory’. 

A common criterion is that the bulk of modern day practicing scientists must accept it as valid science. 

Another criterion defining science is the ability of a theory to make predictions that can be tested. Evolutionists commonly claim that evolution makes many predictions that have been found to be correct. They will cite something like antibiotic resistance in bacteria as some sort of ‘prediction’ of evolution, whereas they question the value of the creationist model in making predictions. Since, they say, creation fails their definition of ‘science’, it is therefore ‘religion’, and (by implication) it can simply be ignored.

The approach of Bacon, who is considered the founder of the scientific method, was pretty straightforward:
observation → induction → hypothesis → test hypothesis by experiment → proof/disproof → knowledge.

Of course this, and the whole approach to modern science, depends on two major assumptions: causality and induction. The philosopher Hume made it clear that these are believed by ‘blind faith’ (Bertrand Russell’s words). 

Kant and Whitehead claimed to have solved the problem, but Russell recognized that Hume was right. Actually, these assumptions arose from faith in the Creator-God of the Bible, as historians of science like Loren Eiseley have recognized.

The important question is not, ‘Is it science?’ One can just define ‘science’ to exclude everything that one doesn’t like, as many evolutionists do today.

So the fundamentally important question is, ‘which worldview (bias) is correct?"

--Rumors of Wars-- Besides the rumor going around that China wants to start WW3 by invading Taiwan---now a rumor is making the rounds China wants to start a war with Vietnam.

--From "the heavens"-- Now NASA says an asteroid MIGHT hit the moon in 2032 and cause a moon dust storm to fall upon the earth.

WARS: Russia-Ukraine. Middle east. Sudanese civil war. Thai-Cambodia conflict. Terrorists still slaughtering Christians across Nigeria this week.

Creation Moment 8/3/2025 - Are Humans Animals?

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26

"Whether they realize it or not, every person’s answer to this

question directly reflects their worldview, and whether they accept man’s explanation of the world’s history or God’s account of history that is recorded in the Bible.

Despite the claims and beliefs of many, humans are not animals. At the heart of this issue lies this question—
Q: where did humans come from?
Q: In other words, did we evolve or were we created?

Intuitively we know—as much as some try to fight it—that humans are not animals, that something is different about us.
From our mental capacity to our physical abilities, our creativity to our ingenuity, humanity has declared itself to be set apart from the animal world in every way.

The first two chapters of the book of Genesis record the creation of the world. In that creation account, the creation of mankind is specifically detailed and gives us the following information:

--God created mankind in his own image (Genesis 1:26)

--God created mankind as male and female (Genesis 1:27)

--God gave mankind dominion over everything that moves on the earth (Genesis 1:28)

--God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed life into his nostrils (Genesis 2:7)

In the very first verses of the Bible and throughout the rest of Scripture, we see that mankind is a unique creation."

What does "spirit" mean here?

"The term “spirit” is used as a general term to describe the “born again” man who in controlled by the Spirit rather than by his inherited flesh. 

But there is nothing airy, ghostly, immaterial, about this born again man; even though it is said of him, “That which is born of the Spirit is spirit,” he sits in a pew in the church!

If you view this passage through the lens of the believer in an

immortal soul, then you may indeed have difficulty with it, and assume that it refers to departed saints, but.... Some view it as we do. Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown, in their comment on this text, remark:
'“Spirit and spirits are used of a man or men in the body, under the influence of the spirit the opposite of flesh.” (John 3.6)

Adam Clarke, Methodist commentator, remarks on this text:
"The spirits of the just men made perfect, or the righteous perfect, are the full grown Christians; those who are justified by the blood and sanctified by the Spirit of Christ. Being come to such implies the spiritual union which the disciples of Christ have with each other, and which they possess how far so ever separate; for they are all joined in one spirit, Ephesians 2:18; they are in the unity of the spirit, Ephesians 4:3,4."

"The headline from Darren at Popular Mechanics (July 2025): “Scientists Found a Black Hole That Shouldn’t Exist. Now Physics Has a Problem.”

According to the standard model of black hole formation, there’s a mass gap—a no-go zone—between about 50 and 120 solar masses. When stars that massive die they explode so violently that they don’t leave behind a black hole, or … so says the theory. And yet there it is, a black hole smack in the middle of the forbidden zone, weighing in at 72 solar masses.

This is a celestial singularity in a mass range that physics says should be impossible. Like the mature galaxies JWST is revealing at red-shifts where they cannot be … theoretical faults are opening up across the scientific spectrum, and the consensus is quaking.

What follows is the predictable flurry of patchwork explanations: maybe it’s a merger of smaller black holes. Maybe the models need tweaking. Maybe pair-instability supernovae don’t behave quite like we thought. The desperation is increasing, but they placed their bets long ago and now … they will double-down.
And yet, despite the headlines and hedging, the logical conclusion following the evidence is almost never spoken aloud: maybe we don’t know what we think we know. Science has wandered far from “scientific skepticism,” from accepting its own ignorance, from allowing the observations to lead the conclusions.

In both the micro and macro realms, the same pattern emerges: the deeper we peer, the more the standard expectations unravel, and not just in the mutable details, but in the underlying assumptions.

Consensus science has never been more technologically capable, and never more epistemologically fragile."

2 Distinct Advents to this World

"The death, resurrection, and the ascension, of the Son of God were events of great importance in the plan of human redemption; but with no one of these is the plan finished. 

The Redeemer was to make two distinct advents to this world. 

At the first, He lived our example, preached His own gospel,

wrought miracles to confirm His divine mission, died our sacrifice, rose from the dead for our justification, and ascended to the Father’s right hand to plead the cause of the repenting sinner. 

But He will appear in this world the second time to execute other parts of the grand scheme. The plan of redemption in its second stage provides for the resurrection of the just from the dominion of death and the grave to life immortal and eternal. 

*The moral fitness for the next life must be obtained in this. 

*The change to immortality is not a moral change. It is simply an 

exchange of the corruptible body for one that will be incorruptible. 

This second stage in the stupendous work of man’s redemption is expressed by the apostle thus: Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body. 

And the Redeemer will not complete His work of redemption in a manner to leave man invisible and immaterial. When redeemed, the just will stand in all the tangible perfection of Adam’s unfallen manhood, with the exceeding glory of bodies fashioned like unto Christ’s glorious resurrected body."
