And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God,
to leave us a remnant to escape,
and to give us a nail in his holy place,
that our God may lighten our eyes,
and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
Ezra 9:8
"Seventh‑day Adventists claim to be the remnant church of biblical prophecy. Following the historicist method of prophetic interpretation, they see themselves as the end-time remnant predicted in Revelation 12:17. Specifically, they see their movement meeting the identifying marks of the remnant in the Book of Revelation.
These marks include
* commandment keeping (vs. 17),
* having the testimony of Jesus (vs. 17),
* and proclaiming the three angels’ messages (vss. 6‑12).
Adventists teach that one should keep all the commandments of God, believe in gift of prophecy manifested through the writings of Ellen White, persevere, and preach the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14:6‑12 that prepare God’s people for the Second Advent.
When Seventh-day Adventists claim to be the remnant for the end times, they must do so with deep humility and understanding."
