Attack # 1 on the Resurrection:
"Christ's Disciples were Wrong"--- these people claim that Christ survived the beatings & crucifixion. That when He woke up & appeared to His followers they were mistaken about what had really happened to him.RESPONSE:
1) 1st & 2nd century unfriendly sources acknowledge Jesus was crucified, died & was buried.
(Babylonian Talmud, Josephus, Phlegon, Thallus, Tacitus, Mera Bar-Serapion)
2) The Roman guards faced death if someone from the sealed tomb escaped.
3) While spending most of the day on the cross He would be unable to control His blood loss.
4) Christ was observed to have wounds after He resurrected--but never behaved as if injured.
5) Jesus disappeared not long after His resurrection and reported ascension.
Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations,
Luke 24:46,47
