IN the NEWS - Time to Flee the Cities?

"In harmony with the light given me, I am urging people to come out from the great centers of population. Our cities are in creasing in wickedness, and it is becoming more and more evident that those who remain in them unnecessarily do so at the peril of their soul's salvation."
Country Living p.9 E.G.W.

"A state of emergency was declared in Baltimore, Maryland tonight as the city transformed into ‘an absolute war zone’ following the funeral of Freddie Gray.
Over 15 police officers were injured.
Several reporters were injured by the rioters.

In response to the rioting in Baltimore protesters organized in Ferguson, Missouri tonight.

“I made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could
to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech,” she said to the press.

“It’s a very delicate balancing act, because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well,” the mayor said." TheFederalist

"BALTIMORE — Gov. Larry Hogan activated the National Guard on Monday and the city of Baltimore announced a curfew for all residents as a turbulent day that began with the funeral of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, the nation’s latest symbol of police brutality, ended with rioting by rock-throwing youths, widespread looting and at least 15 police officers injured.
The violence that shook the city broke out in the late afternoon in the Mondawmin neighborhood of northwest Baltimore, home to the New Shiloh Baptist Church, where more than 2,000 people — politicians, activists, White House officials and civil rights activists including the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Dick Gregory — had gathered for a morning of soaring Gospel music and passionate eulogies for Mr. Gray." NYT

Let us walk honestly, as in the day;
not in rioting and drunkenness,
not in chambering and wantonness,
not in strife and envying.
