Gore Vidal died recently of pneumonia at age 86. He was known for writing the first novel to have a homosexual character. He also claimed most people are really "pansexual", even if they don't admit it. He wrote a book in 1992 entitled Live from Golgatha in which he made a spoof of the New Testament. Vidal has been refered to a the "evangelist of bi-sexuality". (wikipedia)
