SDA Issues: Ghostface in the Pulpit?

"Galatians 5:9 states unequivocally, “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump,” a warning against permitting even minor instances of Biblical compromise. In other words, if small negative influences are allowed to spread, they will eventually corrupt an entire movement.

On March 17, 2024, Brother Fabio posted a video with the following caption in the Seventh-day Adventist News outlet Baluarte:
This dramatic scene that we are seeing occurred in an Adventist
church located in the town of
Guayaquil, Ecuador. You can observe a theatrical performance—dance included—where characters appear dressed in the typical “Ghostface” mask. According to an Internet search, “Ghostface” is a fictional character, a killer who peculiarly uses trickery to hunt down and kill his victims in creative horror movie-style ways. Evidently, and according to what can be seen in the video, this particular representation was carried out in the pulpit, inside the temple, and in the Sabbath programming
.”

Q: Where are those who feel the urgent responsibility to fight against the prevailing iniquity?"

SDA News: From Ecuador

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Titus 1:9

"The University of Guayaquil has been ordered by the highest court in the country, the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, to make
accommodations for its “one
Seventh-day Adventist student by moving its classes to a day other than Saturdays.
A Seventh-day Adventist medical student had requested an exemption from Saturday classes, but the university had refused.
Faithfulness opens up the opportunity for the truth to be shared. Thanks to this “one” student, the truth about the Sabbath made its way to the nation’s highest court. Many others, especially those in government, have had the opportunity to hear the arguments about how Saturday is the Lord’s Day.
This is what God calls us to be: faithful

IN the NEWS - Gen. 6:11 Fills the Earth.... Again Pt.1 Ecuador

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence....But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Genesis 6:11/Matthew 24:37

"Daniel Noboa has managed to do what his father failed at five times: Getting elected as Ecuador’s president.

Now, he must answer the universal demand to make Ecuador safe
again, which voters urged on all the candidates who originally jumped into the race amid a surge in unprecedented violence tied to drug trafficking.......political leaders have been killed or kidnapped, car bombs have exploded in multiple cities, including the capital, Quito, and inmates have rioted in prisons.

Voters are increasingly frightened by the escalation of drug violence over the past three years. Killings, kidnappings, robberies and other criminal activities have become part of everyday life, leaving Ecuadorians wondering when, not if, they will be victims." AP

ARCHAEOLOGY: Lord of the Snails--- That Coil, Sun Worship & Dead Children

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Romans 1:23

"When archaeologist Quirino Olivera began excavating Montegrande
(“big hill”) in 2010, he discovered that it was not only bigger, but also much older, than anyone had imagined.
.... just a few feet down, the ceramics disappeared, and Olivera began seeing evidence of architecture on an enormous scale
He uncovered sections of a long, semicircular wall, nine feet tall and coated in beige plaster, that was reached by a staircase made of boulders and packed earth. Later digging seasons, in 2012 and 2016, revealed a wide platform on the mound’s eastern side that would have faced the rising sun
The depth and form of the structure and the absence of ceramics signaled that the mound dates from the late preceramic era,....It could only have been built by an organized, complex society with hierarchies of workers and an agricultural scheme robust enough to feed them
---It would have to have been the kind of society that, according to standing theories, had not yet spread from the cool Pacific coast—where the first known cities of the Americas were already thriving—over the Andes and into the Amazon. And yet, only eight miles from the Marañón River, a large Amazon tributary, the mound conveyed a sense of permanence.
Nothing this big, this old, had ever been excavated in Peru’s Amazon region. “It showed that complex worship, monumental architecture, and fixed societies had spread to the Amazon centuries earlier than once believed,” says Olivera. “The structure is saying: ‘We’re here. We live in a settled society.’” But was it the only one of its kind?

Olivera’s first instinct, as the Montegrande coil emerged, was to
interpret the feature as a giant astronomical instrument. The spiral could be seen as resembling the paths of heavenly bodies. And he noticed that the stones end in a manner that positions the tip of the coil at the spot where the sun rises from behind a distant hill at certain times of year. “The logical inference is that it was built according to an astronomical observation,” says Olivera, though determining exactly how it worked and what it measured will take more study.
Only one other such spiral design has been identified in the Amazon. A few years earlier, Valdéz had found similar, but smaller, spirals at a site he named Santa Ana-La Florida, over the border in Ecuador, about 100 miles north of Jaén. He believes the spirals were part of an ancient altar.

A mile up a dirt road from Montegrande stands an even bigger and, judging from Olivera’s first excavations, potentially even older mound. Occupied today by an elderly man with chickens and barking dogs, the mound, which is known as San Isidro, was excavated by Olivera in 2010 and 2012.
It held the remains of 22 children and newborns buried over a period
of several centuries in the first millennium B.C. If Montegrande was the local center for shamanic ritual, San Isidro may have been where parents took sick or dying children to be cured—or sacrificed. Bones unearthed at San Isidro show signs of trauma and deformation. A newborn dating from about 800 B.C., who had been decapitated, was found entwined in the arms of a young woman, who had also been decapitated. The remains of a boy aged about six, his teeth showing signs of severe iron deficiency, were buried with guinea pigs, river crabs, and a shell necklace still around his tiny neck.

A few feet away, Olivera uncovered the remains of the mound’s resident healer or priest, his face turned toward the east, as if awaiting the rising sun. His body was adorned with some 180 snail shells, whose shapes echo that of the Montegrande spiral. Peruvian archaeologists often give names to the charismatic dead, and Olivera calls this man “The Lord of Snails.

Paths From Babel: to the Pre-Columbian Andeans

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
Genesis 11:9
Apparently a group from Babel halted in the Highlands and at a very early date some branched off to the coast and remained apart for a time.

"A large international team of researchers has conducted the first
in-depth, wide-scale study of the genomic history of pre-Columbian Andean civilizations such as the Moche, Wari, Tiwanaku, Nazca, and Inca.

The scientists found that groups living in the Andean highlands became genetically distinct from those that eventually came to live along the Pacific coast. The effects of this early differentiation are still seen today.
The genetic fingerprints distinguishing people living in the
highlands from those in nearby regions are remarkably ancient,” said first author Nathan Nakatsuka....the population of the north also developed distinct genetic signatures from populations that became prevalent in the south. Again, these differences can be observed today.
After that time, gene flow occurred among all regions in the Andes, although it dramatically slowed after 2,000 years ago.

There were two exceptions to the slowing of migration, and these were within the Tiwanaku and Inca populations, whose
administrative centers were largely cosmopolitan — people of diverse ancestries living side-by-side. “Archaeology shows the Inca occupied thousands of miles from Ecuador through to northern Chile — which is why when Europeans arrived they discovered a massive Inca empire, but we found close genetic relationships between individuals at the extreme edges of the empire.”

ARCHAEOLOGY: SIMULTANEOUS Pottery Pointing back to Babel......

Therefore is the name of it called Babel;....from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
Genesis 11:9

"The pottery fragments from the Real Alto site appear to belong to a previously unknown culture.
They predate Ecuador’s Valdivia culture, one of the oldest pottery-featured cultures recorded in the Americas.

Sherds are either black or black-and-brown, from bowls and globular, necked jars,” said Dr. Andrey Tabarev.
They were made using grog and stone temper, including some large particles visible on the surface.”
The rough, geometric decorations were made with shallow, linear incisions that had irregular margins as well as finger-gouging and rows of round punctation.”

Chemical residues found on the Real Alto pottery fragments suggest that some vessels were used for cooking.
The mass emergence of pottery was a kind of technical breakthrough associated with many aspects of human life and the level of economic development in different parts of the globe,” said team member Dr. Alexander Popov.
Ceramic vessels belonging to different cultures developed simultaneously confirm that our ancestors had evolved in terms of cultural diversity.”
Despite the different vectors of human development, in the technological sense we were moving in the same direction.”

--OR--vessels belonging to different cultures that developed SIMULTANEOUSLY show that they came from a common point--BABEL--and took the knowledge with them. That too could explain Pottery emerging SIMULTANEOUSLY too.....just saying...
