...of whom we have much to say,
and hard to explain,
since you have become dull of hearing.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers,
ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food.
---For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
--But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
*So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and
again.
*Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding....
(Paul, in the book of Hebrews, is about to Launch into the Deep Meaning, Mysteries and Teachings of the Sanctuary Doctrine, but Pauses to express his frustration in them/us in becoming Spiritually Lazy and fears they/we may not be able to understand---he peppers the rest of Hebrews with this topic as he proceeds)
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard,
---lest at any time we should let them slip.--
For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, (Old Testament) and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Q: How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, (New Testament) and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him; (the Apostles)
Take heed, brethren,
lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day;
--lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
*For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
*Wherefore
lift up the hands which hang down,
and the feeble knees;
And make straight paths for your feet,
lest that which is lame be turned out of the way;
(In other words--their Faith is getting Shaky)
but let it rather be healed.
*Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.
For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
*Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
--WARNING--
--For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
--If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.
