Commentary of Charles Spurgeon, Adam Clarke & Matthew Henry
of making many books there is no end;
and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Vs.12
The sacred inspired writings, if we will but make use of
them, are sufficient to guide us in the way of true happiness, and we need not fatigue ourselves with the search of other writings.
And further, nothing now remains but to tell thee that of making many books there is no end, that is, Of writing
many books.
And much study is a weariness of the flesh - O how true is this!
We have as much as God saw fit to give us, saw fit
for us, and saw us fit for.
