1066 in this Great Controversy

Backdrop:

William II, Grand Duke of the Duchy of Normandy, (later crowned King William I of England) was held up by winds in 1066. During this time English King Harold marched north and defeated a massive Viking army under Norwegian King Harald III and Harold's treasonous brother Tostig at Stamford Bridge.

I. Through the Prism of the GREAT CONTROVERSY
We have examples to Peak behind the scenes:
1- In Daniel, Gabriel had to struggle against the Prince of Persia (Lucifer) to get the kings of Persia to do what God wanted to guide the flow of history. (God struggles against our Free Will). Gabriel was losing and had to call down Prince Michael (Christ).
2- God held a council to decide how to deal with Ahab. A spirit (Lucifer, the father of Lies) stepped forward and offered to put lying words in the mouth of Ahab's false prophets which led to Ahab's death. Obviously Lucifer offering to help God was for his own agenda.
3- Of course you all know the story of Lucifer and God squaring off over Job.

II. Weather
"Across the channel, William had a large fleet of ships filled with a more professional army. They were set to make sail in August, but then weather happened: the wind blew the wrong way for like eight weeks straight, ruining Norman plans for good beach weather at the landing."

III. Just some Questions to Ponder
Q: Was the 8 week long wind that held up William at the right moment sent from God? Was there another Council Meeting in Heaven?
Q: IF William had landed close to his scheduled time, and Harold had to fight 2 armies at literally at once from the north and

south (clearly losing) what would have been the outcome of history? Would the Vikings and French Normans later fought to a draw? Then England would have been partitioned in two and possibly taken a completely different path impacting world history and the settlement of America in the future--if at all by England.
Q: Did God hold up William and allow for the Vikings to be crushed (by surprise) at Stamford Bridge (with heavy losses) then the soon landing of William causing a forced march of 300 miles by Harold's exhausted army only to be crushed by the far militarily superior French Normans?

Q: What if the Vikings had won against both Harold and later William? Let us remember that William was very loyal to the Catholic Church (he had become immensely popular with the Vatican as one of the few rulers strictly enforcing the Pope's "Peace of God" policy.
On the other hand, Viking King Harald III had been in the elite forces for 13 years of the Byzantine Empire at Constantinople and the Eastern Orthodox had recently split from Papal Rome 12 years before in 1054 during the Great Schism. So what if Harald III sided with Eastern Orthodoxy instead IF he had won? How would that have impacted world history via England's influence on the later world stage?
Q: Did a Council in Heaven end with God siding with William and Lucifer with Harold or Harald III?
Q: Pivotal Moment in Pivotal Moment of History: When some of William's men broke late in the day and began to retreat, it escalated due to a rumor circulating that William was dead.
But many of Harold's men disobeyed to hold the shield wall and pursued in the open field the fleeing forces of William. It was at that moment William rode onto the field and lifted his helmet to show his men he was alive. Then his cavalry rode in to the exposed English and cut them down as the Norman archers rained down arrows upon the Anglais. So what role did the forces of God and those of His opponent play in that pivotal moment of influence on that battlefield of world history -- a battle that began that morning at 9 A.M. on October 14, 1066?

All Historians consider 1066 (and the Battle of Hastings) the most

important date of the middle ages. Do you really think God didn't have a hand in events of this magnitude?
William brought many reforms to England including stone Castles, education, architecture, etc.

DISCLAIMER: I may be slightly biased in favor of William as a French Creole on my fathers side who happens to be descended from one of his French barons at Hastings who returned to Normandy after the battle to tend his holdings there. And on my mothers side, through an Anglais line, traces back to William.
