Psalm 91:

I. The Lord’s Protection (91:1-13).
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. vs.1
He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. vs.2
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, vs.3
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, vs.11
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: vs.15
A. The Confidence (91:1-2);
B. The Dangers (91:3-6);
C. The Examples (91:7-13).
II. The Lord’s Pledge (91:14-16).
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
and from the noisome pestilence.
vs.3
....the temptations of Satan, which are as the snares of the fowler,
and from the contagion of sin, which is the noisome pestilence...
We are foolish and weak as poor little birds, and are very apt to be lured to our destruction by cunning foes, but if we dwell near to God, he will see to it that the most skilful deceiver shall not entrap us."
