Lesson of Luke 4:41

Luke 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And He rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that He was Christ.

"Confessions were extorted from the demoniacs.
They said, Thou art Christ the Son of God, 

but they said it crying with rage and indignation; 

it was a confession upon the rack, 

and therefore was not admitted in evidence.

*Christ rebuked them, and did not suffer them to say that they knew Him to be the Christ, that it might appear, beyond all contradiction,

 --that He had obtained a conquest over them,

--and not made a compact with them."
