The Roche Limit states that the moon, because of tidal forces due to gravity, could never have been closer than 11,500 miles from earth or it would have crushed it.
Because of tidal friction the moon is receding from the earth at 4cm per year. If you were to begin with the moon in contact with the planet earth, then begin receding, it would only take 1.37 billion years to reach its current distance. Yet the earth and moon are supposed to be much, much older than that.
So could it be, they are much, much younger and created seperate?
and the lesser light to rule the night:
Genesis 1:16
