On the 3rd day of Creation He created the vegetation - the herb yielding seed and tree yielding fruit. On the 3rd day of Redemption Week, He told the last of His parables. The parables were stories to plant seeds of ideas in the minds of the hearers that they may one day bear fruit in their minds and hearts. He was planting seeds in their minds on the third day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the
fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the
earth: and it was so.
