Creation Moment 6/12/2025 - Conservation of information

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Psalm 139:14 NLT

"Dembski opens with a simple illustration: someone searches for a hidden Easter egg, guided by clues like “warmer” or “colder.”
These clues help, but Dembski asks: Where did the guide get the information? Finding the right instructions is just as hard — sometimes harder — than the original search.

This idea is called the conservation of information: you can’t
magically reduce the difficulty of a problem by adding guidance, because the guidance itself must come from somewhere. In mathematical terms, you never get something from nothing. Any system that solves a complex problem must contain, or have access.
Dembski uses this principle to challenge Darwinian evolution. Conventional claims about evolution, he argues, assume that natural processes can produce complex life from simple beginnings without an intelligent source. But this assumption violates conservation of information, because the complexity requires prior information.

He critiques a common description of evolution, the familiar claim that monkeys at typewriters could eventually accidentally produce the works of Shakespeare by chance — with the help of a correcting agent (a lab technician who uses White-Out).ess to, the information needed to solve it.
That lab tech, Dembski says, already knows the target outcome and introduces outside knowledge. Without that external input, random mutation and natural selection alone are insufficient to explain biological complexity.

Dembski is skeptical of AGI — the idea that machines will someday think and reason like humans. He argues that it is a myth. While machines can perform specific tasks using massive amounts of data, humans achieve much more with much less.
For example, Tesla’s AI uses billions of video frames to learn driving, but people learn to drive with far less input. This shows human intelligence is fundamentally different, and probably unmatchable by machines."

Creation Moment 4/28/2025 - Those SYMBOLS tell us

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 NIV

The
Universe is governed by the SYMBOLS of Coded Information Mathematics and Life
governed by the SYMBOLS of Coded Information of the Genetic Code.

Like the SYMBOLS of Coded Information of the Linguistic Language and the SYMBOLS of Coded Information of the Binary Codes for computers = an intelligence that wrote it---so too the SYMBOLS of Coded Information of Mathematics and Genetics.

Creation Moment 3/15/2025 - INSIDE YOU Virtually Everything is Regulated

Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex!
Psalm 139:14 NLT

"Information is closely associated with life, both in an organism’s internal processes and also in how organisms communicate..... such as how information is stored, searched for, and processed in brains; how information is stored and represented in biological cells; and how novel information can be generated from artificial intelligence systems.

Cells are the core unit of living organisms. Thousands of protein complexes have been identified, used in cellular processes such as gene expression, manufacture and recycling of biochemicals, assembly of molecular machines, cell differentiation, embryology, etc. Guidance to ensure the correct outcomes is often referred to as
information.

Information
is used to communicate instructions or understanding between a sender and receiver. This requires the use of a jointly pre-agreed-upon code. Codes are composed of an alphabet of symbols that are abstract, in the sense that they need bear no relationship to the message being conveyed. And a message is composed of a sequence of these symbols.

After examining countless cellular processes, an important observation pointing to the existence of information is that virtually everything is regulated.

A key principle is that hundreds of cellular programs are rerun repeatedly, relying on processing logic encoded in DNA, RNA, proteins, lipids, and sugars.
Each program relies on distinct coding languages. This is reminiscent of human-designed computer programs that can be reused many times." AIG

Creation Moment 8/9/2024 - Design Patterns SERIES: Structural Design Patterns

Where is the wise?
where is the scribe?
where is the disputer of this world?
1 Corinthians 1:20

"Structural patterns are design patterns based on object-to-object relationships. For structural patterns, Andrews et al. identify six subcategories.
Of these, the third is common currency.
Across cells, there are many common metabolites, including common storage forms of energy, such as ATP. Traditionally, this has been attributed to common ancestry, but there is a critical design-based reason for it

Using a common currency simplifies interactions between objects.

For example, it’s easier to fill up your car with gasoline when
gasoline is a
common currency because no matter where you travel, other people need gasoline for their cars, and so chances are you will find it for sale. Here’s another example: It is easier to buy groceries with a common currency, such as the U.S. dollar, because you don’t have to stop and exchange your money before making a purchase, likely paying a fee for doing so.

Cells face similar constraints. They rely on certain producers of energy at certain times and incur a cost for energy interconversions. Thus, ATP is likely a designed solution to the aforementioned requirements. Andrews et al. point out that the topological pattern of common currency has a “bow tiearchitecture
In this type of architecture, many nutrients are turned into a
common currency (the knot) which can then expand to accomplish many different things.
This design motif requires an intelligent agent because the goals of the ecosystem and organisms must be evaluated before coming up with a currency that can work between lower-level objects.
This entails an understanding of how everything will interrelate and what is possible in the design space of physics and chemistry, followed by planning and implementation. Only an intelligent agent has these capabilities, which are not accessible to random processes."

Creation Moment 4/8/2024 - Design Inference

Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am He. John 13:19

"The word information derives from the Latin preposition in, meaning in or into, and the verb formare, meaning to give shape to. ---Information puts definite shape into something.
--But that means ruling out other shapes.

The key intuition behind the concept of
information is the narrowing of possibilities. The more that possibilities are narrowed down, the
greater the
information
If I tell you I’m on planet Earth, I haven’t conveyed any information because you already knew that (let’s leave aside space travel). If I tell you I’m in the United States, I’ve begun to narrow down where I am in the world. If I tell you I’m in Texas, I’ve narrowed down my location further. If I tell you I’m forty miles north of Dallas, I’ve narrowed my location down even further. As I keep narrowing down my location, I’m providing you with more and more information.

Information
is therefore, in its essence, exclusionary: the more possibilities are excluded, the greater the information provided. As philosopher Robert Stalnaker put it in his book Inquiry: “To learn something, to acquire information, is to rule out possibilities.

Given the etymology of information and intelligence, it’s obvious that the two are related notions. The million-dollar question in connecting the two is how we can know when an intelligence is actually responsible for an item of information.

Answering that question is the whole point of specified complexity and the design inference."

Creation Moment 9/10/2023 - Who Wrote the "Informarion" Codes?

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible.... Colossians 1:16

"Now I am in the grip of a new vision, that Everything Is Information

the more I see possible fundamental roles for logic and information as the bedrock of physical theory. I am eighty-six as of this writing, but I continue to search. " John Archibald Wheeler, autobiography (1999, d. 2008)
