Pugh, aged fifty-six years,
one of the pioneer residents of Harrison township, dropped dead last evening at 4 o'clock, while reading a newspaper.

He was one of the best known farmers in the county.
In 1849 the
settled in Harrison township and lived there until his death.
He was a member of James Cartright Post, G. A. R., and was one of
the organizers of the post at Montpelier.
His death was due to heart
failure.
