Echoes of The Tree of Life Corrupted in Paganism by Time

Tree of Life- ....take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:....Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil-And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it,...And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die..For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3:22/ 2-5

In the Chinese Myth below one can possibly se the corruption via time through pagan re-telling of the echoes of the story of the Tree of Life as well as the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil blended together.
Notice:
a) There is a god and goddess in paradise. Possible echo distorted of our first parents Adam and Eve.
b) There are fruit, peaches in this story, of immortality. As one had to eat of the Tree of Life
in the real story in Genesis, so too do those who have to eat at regular intervals to keep immortality.
c) Only 2 humans have ever tasted of the fruit that gives immortality--distortion of the only real two to have-Adam & Eve, but changed to two males emperors.
d) The story was with the ancient Chinese, as their ancestors as far back as the oracle bone inscriptions recorded the story. (likely fresh in their memory by oral story-telling and twisting of events over time since their dispersal from Babel).
e) The story is connected to myths stretching back to Anatolia. (that is where the mountains of Ararat, where the ark rested, is likely located....it is where the offspring of Noah dispersed from).
f) Blended into the story is one form of the peaches that enhances wisdom (likely weaving in the fruit from the tree of knowledge of Good & Evil).
g) Would the famous "Eight Immortals" be the 8 survivors of the Flood, who had a long life span?

"In Chinese mythology, Heaven is an actual imperial dominion—
with a fully functioning bureaucracy—ruled over by the Jade Emperor and his wife, known as the Queen Mother of the West. On this special day, the Queen Mother is holding her annual Peach Banquet at the Jade Pool of the Emperor’s Golden-Gate Cloud Palace.
To make this event a reality, the Queen Mother sends out invitations to the prestigious guests and summons the Seven Fairies—Red Fairy, Blue Fairy, White Fairy, Black Fairy, Purple Fairy, Yellow Fairy, and Green Fairy, to be exact—to collect peaches from her Peach Orchard. After all, what Peach Banquet would be complete without peaches, and these are no ordinary peaches: they are the Peaches of Immortality.

One smaller variety of the Peaches of Immortality, with tiny blossoms, allows those who eat it to feel their bodies are both light and strong. This variety is said to open up one’s mind to higher wisdom and to lengthen one’s life

The Queen Mother of the West, known by various local names, is a goddess in Chinese religion and mythology, also worshiped in neighboring Asian countries, and attested from ancient times. The first historical information on her can be traced back to oracle bone inscriptions of the fifteenth century BC that record sacrifices to a "Western Mother".

Elfriede R. Knauer demonstrates a connection with the Anatolian mother goddess Cybele.  See her "The Queen Mother of the West: A Study of the Influence of Western Prototypes on the Iconography of the Taoist Deity." In Victor H. Mair, ed., Contact and Exchange in the Ancient World (Honolulu: University of Hawai’i Press, 2006), pp. 62–115.

Legend states that the peaches in the orchard of Xiwangwu only ripen once every 3000 / 6000 / 9000 years. When this happens, Xiwangwu would throw a banquet to celebrate the occasion. The gods, including the famous Eight Immortals, would be invited to partake of this feast. According to Chinese belief, anyone who ate the Peaches of Immortality would be granted not only with
immortality, but also with eternal youth.

It is said that only two people ate of the Peaches of immortality, Emperor Zhou and the second person said to have been given the Peaches of Immortality was the Emperor Wu of Han. The emperor is recorded to have been given several peaches by Xiwangmu.
These valuables fruits were so highly treasured by the emperor that their stones were preserved, one of which is believed to have been presented to the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty. This peach stone is said to have 10 characters engraved on it."

Creation Moment 3/10/2023 - It may be "Challenging"? .. Not Really...

"The environment of 3C 297, appears to have the key features of a galaxy cluster, enormous structures that usually contain hundreds or even thousands of galaxies. Yet this galaxy stands alone.
This result made with NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory and the International Gemini Observatory may push the limits for how quickly astronomers expect galaxies to grow in the early
Universe
.

It seems that we have a galaxy cluster that is missing almost all of its galaxies,” said Dr. Valentina Missaglia, an astronomer at the University of Torino.
We expected to see at least a dozen galaxies about the size of the Milky Way, yet we see only one.

First, the X-ray data reveals the lone galaxy is surrounded by large quantities of gas with temperatures of tens of millions of degrees — something normally seen in galaxy clusters.
Second, the supermassive black hole’s jet has created an intense source of X-rays about 140,000 light-years away, implying that it has plowed into gas surrounding the galaxy.
A third trait of galaxy clusters possessed by 3C 297, previously reported in Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array data, is that one of the radio jets is bent, showing that it has interacted with its surroundings.

Despite having these important features of a galaxy cluster, the new data from the Gemini Observatory revealed that none of the 19 galaxies that appear close to 3C 297 in an optical image, and that have accurate distance measurements, are actually at the same distance as the lonely galaxy.
The question is, what happened to all of these galaxies?” said Dr. Juan Madrid.
The researchers think 3C 297 is no longer a galaxy cluster, but a ‘fossil group.’ This is the end stage of a galaxy pulling in and merging with several other galaxies.

It may be challenging to explain how the Universe can create this system only 4.6 billion years after the Big Bang,” said Dr. Mischa Schirmer, an astronomer at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy.
This doesn’t break our ideas of cosmology, but it begins to push the limits on how quickly both galaxies and galaxy clusters must have formed.” SciNews

It's NOT really "challenging"---if one considers they were designed & created  -- at one time in the not very distant past: And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Echoes of the Flood corrupted in Ancient Paganism

"Scripture teaches that Noah, his sons and wives—eight altogether—boarded the Ark, to escape the Global Flood judgment.
Q: Did the Ancient Egyptians have knowledge of this, too?

A: Egyptologists know of a group of eight gods called the Ogdoad (Greek for ‘eight’). Four males and their wives, connected to the Egyptian Flood, or primeval ocean (Nun/Nu). Their names occur in the Pyramid Texts, Egypt’s oldest inscriptions.
The chief god is Nu, sounds like Noah; his wife is Nu.t.

These eight were worshiped at Khemenu (Greek ‘Hermopolis’), mentioned in the Pyramid Texts.
Khemenu survived into modern-day El Ashmunein (‘Eight City’ in Coptic). A temple once stood there, dedicated to their worship.

The Egyptians believed the ‘Eight’ eventually died, and were buried. A small 18th Dynasty temple at Medinet Habu, south of Cairo, marks their tomb.
Inscriptions feature their names, and describe both their burial as mummies and the Great Flood." CMI

Creation Moment 3/9/2023 - Echoes of Creator God Corrupted in Ancient Paganism

"Heliopolis (Greek for ‘city of the sun’) was from its beginning a
regional center of worship for a god called (Re)-Atum. Its only remnant evidence is the Al-Masalla Obelisk.

Heliopolis and the worship of Atum both feature in Scripture. Heliopolis, with its pillars/obelisks, is judged for its idolatry in Jeremiah 43:13 (He shall break the obelisks of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt, and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.) and Isaiah 19:18
The Egyptian name of Heliopolis is ‘Iunu’ meaning ‘pillar’ (or obelisk).

In Coptic it is ‘On’, which is judged in Ezekiel 30:17. Joseph’s wife is the daughter of Potiphera (whose name means ‘the one whom Ra has given’ and is a “priest of On” (Genesis 41:45, 50; 46:20). So
Potiphera likely worshipped Re-Atum. Also, Israelite slaves built grain-stores for Pharaoh at ‘Pithom’ (Exodus 1:11) which in Egyptian means ‘Great House of Atum’ (pr-jtm.w).
Atum’s name appears in Egypt’s oldest texts, inscribed on walls and corridors of burial chambers inside 5th Dynasty pyramids. He is described as the first creator god, who emerged from ‘primordial flood waters’, ascended the ‘primordial mound’ (the first land) and initiated his work of creation.
Atum creates two children by ‘sneezing’ or ‘spitting out’ a son, Shu (representing air), and a daughter, Tēfnut (moisture). From Atum, other gods were believed to have descended by natural procreation. Thus the Egyptians thought in terms of nine (sometimes ten) gods, jointly called the Great Ennead.

The 19th Dynasty Turin Canon (or Turin King List) papyrus lists rulers of Egypt and their reign-lengths. Though highly damaged, it features names from the Great Ennead amongst various mythical early rulers, each of which reined for hundreds of years. This suggests a corrupted memory of the long-lived generations listed in Genesis 5.  Prominent ancestors becoming ‘deified’ well after their deaths is a known phenomenon.

Egyptian beliefs about Atum provide more clues of his connection to early Genesis. Images of Atum appear in 20th Dynasty tombs (c. 1189–1077 BC) showing him battling with a serpent called Apophis
in front of a tree called the Ished tree. Atum is depicted as a cat—considered the natural enemy of snakes. Such images appear c. 1280 BC in papyri collections of religious spells, called the ‘Book of the Dead’, which were buried with the deceased. Atum is shown with one paw crushing the head of Apophis, while the other paw takes a knife to decapitate it. Egyptian priests connected with this belief made models of Apophis which were trampled, stabbed, and burned, in order to vanquish the snake’s evil. As part of His pronouncement of the Curse when Adam and Eve sinned, God said that the serpent’s head would be bruised by the coming Seed (Genesis 3:15), whom Paul calls the ‘last Adam’ (1 Corinthians 15:45). However, the Egyptian version has Atum already victorious over the serpent—crushing its head.

The Ished tree is clearly connected with both knowledge and length of life in Egyptian inscriptions. For instance, a wall inscription on
the Pharaoh Ramesses II temple at Thebes (c. 1300 BC) depicts Atum and a god called Thoth, writing on the leaves of the Ished tree the reign length assigned to the enthroned king.
Interestingly, the name Ished (originally pronounced ‘ish-d-et’ in the Pyramid Texts) sounds like Hebrew ‘tree of knowledge’—pronounced ets-ha-da-at. (Hebrew ‘tree’ = ets, ‘the knowledge of’ = ha-da-at). Therefore, the sound and meaning of a part of this Edenic tree’s name was likely incorporated into Egyptian religion.

As expected, ‘echoes of Eden and Genesis’ are indeed present in the records of early Egypt, in more than one form. Starting with the Bible as God’s revealed truth about history equips us to make genuine discoveries." CMI

IN the NEWS - Jeremiah 17:9 on steroids

The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked....
Jeremiah 17:9

"The Satanic Temple (TST) has started an online fundraising effort
for its online "telehealth clinic" to provide free "religious" abortion services through the mail to women in New Mexico.
The group's health division known as TST Health will also provide free resources, when available, to others outside of New Mexico. Travel assistance will also be supplied according to the group's website.  If you want an abortion, a mini vacation, and a satanic ritual to mess up your life, here’s your chance.
"Patients pay a pharmacy for the medication, but medical and religious services are free," the website states.
Abortion is legal in the state of New Mexico at all stages of pregnancy, except in the city of Hobbs, where a local ordinance was passed in November 2022 to prevent abortion clinics from operating. The number of abortion clinics in New Mexico has declined over the years.
Statewide, just three of New Mexico's 33 counties have clinics that provide abortions: Bernalillo, Santa Fe, and Doña Ana counties, according to the Las Cruces Sun-News.
The TST explains its new telehealth clinic will provide the abortion drugs "through the mail for members and for those who wish to perform TST's Abortion Ritual." Fulcrum7

Lessons of Lot

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalm 1:1

"One of the most tragic figures in all of Scripture is that of
compromising Lot, Abraham’s nephew, who renounced the land of promise for the sinful society of Sodom, ultimately to lose everything of importance.
His slide into apostasy, as traced in Genesis 12–19, seems to parallel the progression described in today’s text of not becoming a godly believer.

--Lot is first mentioned as traveling with Abram and Sarai from their homeland to Canaan in obedience to God’s command (Genesis 12:4-5; 13:5).
--A petty problem arises that surely could have been resolved (13:6-10), but Lot chose (v. 11) to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly” (v. 13).
Lot soon found a home in the city itself, not content to merely herd his flocks in the fertile valley.
--By standing in the way of sinners, when Sodom was attacked by enemies he was captured (14:12) and later rescued by Abram (vv. 14-16).

Lot’s identification with wicked Sodom did not end there, as it should have, for when the city’s wickedness was beyond God’s forbearance,
--Lot was found sitting in the seat of the scornful, a leader of the city, sitting in the gates with the town fathers (19:1).
--Lot was a “just” (or “righteous”) man, “vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked” (2 Peter 2:7), but his actions (Genesis 19:8) and his lack of spiritual influence even within his own family (vv. 14-16, 31-38) testify to the horror of such a compromising lifestyle.

May God grant us all the persevering faith of Abraham and not the compromising faith of Lot."

Creation Moment 3/8/2023 - Is it really a "Mystery"?

.....but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Proverbs 12:23

"Jurassic shark – Shark from the Jurassic period was already highly evolved (University of Wien, 28 Feb 2023). A shark fossil said to be 150 million years old was already highly evolved. Other kinds of sharks went extinct. So where’s the evolution?
The results of the analysis were startling: Protospinax was
neither a “missing link” nor a ray nor a primitive shark – but a highly evolved shark….
Even though cartilaginous fishes as a group have survived to this day, most species disappeared during its evolution, including Protospinax. Why Protospinax became extinct at the Jurassic-Cretaceous boundary some 145 million years ago and why there is no comparable shark species today, while the ecologically similarly adapted rays exist relatively unchanged to this day, remains a mystery at this point." Reasons for the Flood

"Genesis chapter 6 gives four reasons why God sent the Flood:
  1. 'The wickedness of man was great in the earth' (v. 5).
  2. 'Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually' (v. 5).
  3. 'The earth was filled with violence' (v. 11).
  4. 'The earth...was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth' (v. 12). (All the people on earth had corrupted their way.)
The historical Biblical record states, 'And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt' (Genesis 6:12). This is in sharp contrast to God's declaration when he had finished creating the heaven and the earth, namely, 'And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good' (Genesis 1:31).
It is astounding to consider that in the tenth generation from Adam the human race had become so wicked, evil, violent and corrupt that it was not fit to go on living.
And of all mankind only four men and four women were spared, because they did not go with the great sin drift." CMI

Creation Moment 3/7/2023 - Creation is Dangerous, huh?

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:18

"Michael Majerus’s work famously demonstrated the flaws in evolutionary accounts of the peppered moth story, but he passionately continues to defend textbooks’ use of the peppered moth to support evolution.
Now he wants to make a public stand against the teaching of creation and ‘intelligent design’ in biology classes.
To have people believe the biology of the planet is controlled by a Creator, I think that’s dangerous.’" CMI

In Your Silent Chamber

I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
 Isaiah 48:10

"Comfort thyself, tried believer, with this thought:
Q: Does not the word come like a soft shower, assuaging the fury of the flame?
Q: Yea, is it not an armor, against which the heat hath no power?
---Let affliction come-God has chosen me.

Poverty, thou mayst stride in at my door, but God is in the house already, and He has chosen me.
Sickness, thou mayst intrude, but I have a balsam ready-God has chosen me.

Whatever befalls me in this vale of tears, I know that He has "chosen" me.
---If, believer, thou requirest still greater comfort, remember that you have the Son of Man with you in the furnace.
In that silent chamber of yours
there sitteth by your side.

Q: Dost thou not hear His voice?
Even in the valley of the shadow of death He says, "Fear not".
Charles Spurgeon

Creation Moment 3/6/2023 - Darwinians and their new found Political Power in the 1920's

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked....
Jeremiah 17:9

"Beginning in the 1920s, many thousands of people in the United
States were sterilized against their will and without their consent, to prevent ‘undesirable breeding’.
Over 8,000 of these procedures took place at a major center to which such ‘undesirables’ were sent, in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The victims included some with various degrees of mental retardation; many were simply there because they had been abandoned as a result of broken homes or had suffered some other social misfortune.
They were lied to routinely, being told that it was something ‘for their own good’ or ‘for their health’....... the entire effort was based upon the notion of eugenics. The eugenics movement was started by Sir Francis Galton (a cousin of Charles Darwin), who wanted to encourage ‘survival of the fittest’ within human society
The ‘humane’ way to do this was by compulsory sterilization of those deemed ‘unfit’. The idea seduced ‘social reformers from the right and the left’—among them George Bernard Shaw, and Winston Churchill.
The Lynchburg doctor who was responsible for most of the sterilizations in his own town was convinced that what he was doing was for the ‘scientific good’ of society.
As a dedicated Darwinian, notions of absolute right and wrong were old-fashioned obstacles to the greater good of the ‘herd’.
Needing a legal cover for his actions in the face of the human rights
meant to be guaranteed in the (creation-based) U.S. Constitution, he became enamored with model legislation prepared by a leading U.S. evolutionary biologist, Dr Harry Laughlin.
Laughlin’s law called for compulsory sterilization of not only the ‘feeble-minded’, but also the blind, drug addicts, sufferers from TB and syphilis, epileptics, paupers, the deaf and the homeless.
Since these people were, it was claimed, obviously the victims of ‘bad genes’, the law was overtly aimed at maintaining the ‘racial purity of the white race’ by preventing the further ‘breeding’ of those whose offspring would ‘drag down’ this race.....a young lady was chosen who had been targeted for sterilization because there had allegedly been ‘three generations of feeble-mindedness’ in her family. Her lawyer challenged the Laughlin law all the way to the Supreme Court. However, far from being her champion, he was in reality one of those heavily involved in the formulation of these eugenics policies!
Unfortunately also for the young lady, the presiding judge of the Supreme Court hearing this case in 1924 was Oliver Wendell Holmes, an influential Darwinist who laid the legislative foundation for many of the advances of secular humanism in the United States. Not surprisingly, Holmes declared the law constitutional. It was acceptable for the state to compel the sterilization of those who were deemed ‘socially inadequate’." CEH

Was Ham deified into the Egyptian god Horus?

Was Ham deified as a form of ancestor worship in ancient Egypt as the god Horus?
Who knows but Gavin Cox of CMI has his case for it below and you decide what you out there in cyberspace think...
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds,....Romans 1:23
"One of the most famous and ancient of Egypt’s many deities was Horus, the falcon sun-god.
1) Ham is 11th from Adam
2) etymology of Ham’s name;
3) Ham came from a family of eight; and
4) Ham, the youngest of three brothers.
These comparisons support the thesis that Ham was deified by the pagan Egyptians as Horus.

Egypt is eponymously called “the land of Ham” (Noah’s third son) in the Psalms (105:23, 27; 106:22) and “tents of Ham” (Psalm 78:51).
Ham and Mizraim (Ham’s third son) appear together in Psalm 105:23 as designations for Egypt: “… Israel came to Egypt (miṣrāyim); Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham (ḥām).
Here, ‘Mizraim’ is the common name for Egypt throughout Scripture.

Ham was a first-hand witness of the Flood, and likely lived to a similar age as his brother Shem (500 years post-Flood, Genesis 11:11).
--Via Noah’s teaching, Ham knew about creation and the pre-Flood world, knowledge he would naturally pass to his descendants. All this became paganized by the Egyptians.
--Ham’s great post-Flood lifespan, involvement in re-establishing of post-Flood civilization, and knowledge of the pre-Flood world, likely meant he had divine status conferred upon him by the Egyptians.

Horus appears in Old Kingdom Pyramid Texts (OK PTs), along with his sons, father, and mother. Horus is depicted as a falcon or falcon-headed man, who was considered a creator god, as well as a form of the sun. His father was Osiris/Geb, with a notable brother, Seth

Myths associated with this family include the struggle between
Horus and Seth after Osiris’s murder.
Here, both brothers injure each other through violent struggle for dominion. Horus loses his eye, which itself becomes deified as the moon (Thoth), and his healthy eye as the sun (RēꜤ).

Pharaohs became the living embodiment of Horus, and received their ‘Horus name’. Upon death they were believed to fly to heaven as the Horus falcon, to join RēꜤ in the solar barge, crossing the sky eternally.

--The Genesis 5:1–32 chronogenealogies place Ham (with his
Atum (Adam?)

brothers) 11th from Adam. Can a similar chronological relationship be discerned in Egyptian mythology, regarding Horus?
Egypt had a group of nine gods, called the Ennead, listed in OK PTs. Their sign was 9 flags, or vertical dashes, in Egyptian: psḏ.t (Wb 1, 558.12). They are listed in Pepis II PT-600§1655:
O Great Nine that is in Heliopolis—Atum, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Seth, Nephthys—Atum’s children!”
The Greater Enneadpsḏ.t-ꜤꜢ .t (Wb 1, 559.5) included Thoth, and Horus. When Osiris is accounted for, who appears as (father/brother) bystander, Horus’s position appears 11th from Atum, Unas PT-219§167–177:
Atum … Shu … Tefnut … Geb … Nut … [Osiris] … Isis … Seth … Nephthys … Thoth … Horus.
Atum is the Egyptians’ paganized memory of Adam. Here in PT-219§167–177, Horus is placed 11th within the Greater Ennead—taking into account Osiris as bystander—from the Egyptian Atum. --This may represent a paganized memory of the genealogies of Genesis 5:1–32 where Ham (and brothers) stand 11th in-line from Adam.

The 19th Dynasty Turin Canon papyrus, though highly damaged,
provides information regarding Egypt’s earliest history, which designates Egypt’s Predynastic rulers as šms.w-ḥr.w Followers of Horus” (Wb 4, 486.16–19).

Egyptologist K. Ryholt explains:
The mythological kings consists [sic.] of gods, demigods, and spirits. … The first name [n ib […]] could be brought into relation with the primaeval ocean, the time before land existed and water was everywhere. The name ‘clod of the shore’ [pns.t n spt] can hardly be other than a reference to the creation of life
Horus (Ham?)

out of lifeless matter, earth. The two latter names [‘possessor of noble women’ (ẖrḥm. wt-šps.w[t]) and ‘protector of [noble?] women’ (ḫw-ḥm.wt-[šps.wt?])] could, perhaps, relate to the creation of women. Further below, in the now lost part of column 2, there was a further transition from demigods to spirits, which continues in the first nine lines of column 3. The spirits have generally been interpreted as prehistoric kings, but it remains unclear how much historical importance should be attached to the information the king-list has to offer
.”
This sounds like a paganized reference to creation, Adam (from the earth), and Eve, up to later stages in the chronogenealogy, listed in Genesis 5:1–32.
Ham’s name can be understood via phonetic connections to similar-sounding words within the Hebrew text, Biblical scholars call this ‘paronomasia’, (play-on-words, puns). At Genesis 6:11 the reason for the Flood is given—the earth is full of ḥāmas “violence, wrong
(HALOT-2980).

“And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham (ḥām), and Japheth.
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence (ḥāmās)
” (Genesis 6:10–11).

Theologian Moshe Garsiel states of the pun that it: “… does not serve here merely as sound play but implies a connection between Ham and ‘lawlessness’. Later on (9:22–27), this son indeed displays the inferiority of his nature compared to his brothers.”
Ham’s grandson Nimrod at the construction of the tower of Babel provoked the next judgment of humankind.

--Ham belonged to a family of eight—comprising four males and
their wives. Ancient Egypt had a group of eight gods—comprising of four males and their wives (the Ogdoad) whose names appear in OK PTs. As Ham came from Noah’s family of eight, Horus also comes from a group of eight gods.

Scripture states Noah had three sons: Ham his youngest” (Genesis 9:24) and “Shem … brother of Japheth the elder” (Genesis 10:21 YLT). Here Scripture employs the adjective: קָטָן (qāṭān) HALLOT-8338 ‘small, youngest’ to describe Ham. Can similar relationships be discerned in Horus’s family? The following evidence suggests this is so.
Horus is described in Pepis I PT-539§1320c as:
Hr.w nẖn(.w) ḫrd
Horus, the little child.”
Horus had a notable brother called Seth, with whom he violently
struggled (see motif 8), for instance:
Merenre PT-615§1742a.
jmi.y jr(.t)-ḥr.w ḥr ḏnḥ n.j sn=f stš
Put the eye of Horus on his brother Seth’s wing.
Also Pepis I-667a§1948b:
[Horus will] be cleansed of what [his] brother [Seth] did to him, [Seth will be cleansed of what his brother Horus] [did] to him … Horus will be purified when he [embraces] his father Osiris.
Another god, called Thoth is constantly associated with Horus and Seth in PTs, indeed, there is a clear overlap between Seth and Thoth as noted by Čermák, who also recognizes family relationships are often contradictory. Seth is brother to Horus, and yet simultaneously brother of Osiris in PT. However, Seth and Thoth are described as brothers together in:
Neith PT-218§163d.
m=k jri.t.n stš ḥna ḏḥw.tj sn
See what Seth and Thoth have done, your brothers” (referencing Pharaoh Neith).
Neith PT-370–375.
ḫai.t (j) m bj.t (j) ḥr.w ḏḥw.tj snsn.w jr=k m sn bj.t (j) {ḥr.w} {ḏḥw.tj}
You appeared as King of Lower Egypt and Horus and Thoth have joined you as the two brothers of the King of Lower Egypt” (referencing Pharaoh Neith).
The following (MK) Coffin Text makes clear the brotherhood of Horus, Seth, and Thoth: CT-681.
O Thoth, son of the Harpooner, brother of Horus and Seth, who are on your throne, silence Seth.” (Faulkner 2004: II, 246).
Horus had a brother, Seth, (both sons of Osiris) with whom he struggled violently for political dominion. A closely aligned god called Thoth is described as a brother of either Seth, or Horus in the PTs, and one example in the Coffin Texts of Horus, Seth, and Thoth being described as brothers. In BOD, Thoth shares the same father (Osiris) as Horus and Seth. When these examples are considered, then Horus is comparable to Ham in having two other brothers, and himself being described as the ‘youngest’." CMI

***Just a thought...but IF there is any validity to the theory put forward by Mr. Cox, I'm wondering if this was an embellishment of
the story of that terrible incident between Ham and Noah (Osirus)? Did they change it around and make Shem (Seth) the bad guy and their direct ancestor Ham (Horus) the hero?
Did Shem and Ham have a falling out over it and Japheth (Thoth) was the peacemaker as in the Egyptian story? In the Egyptian myth Seth and Horus fight over Seth killing their father Osirus.
Because clearly Shem didn't kill Noah. A possible twist or embellishment for dramatic effect based on Ham's incident with Noah?....or blending of another event of a fight between some other relatives of that era...hmmm....well whatever...And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. Genesis 9:22-24

Genetic Clues from the Tower of Babel

"The Tower of Babel .....like the Creation and Flood accounts, there are only a couple of verses that apply to our model of genetics. But, like the others, these verses are as profound as they are simple.
Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.Gen 11:1
And they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.’” Gen 11:4
It sounds like they were in a homogenous culture, but what do people in that situation do? Would you expect them to mix freely?

Note in Gen 11:4 that they knew about the potential for spreading
out and getting separated from one another and intentionally did the opposite! However, this was against the express command of God, who had ordered them to spread out (to populate the earth). So, He took matters into His own hands.
Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.’ So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.Gen 11:7–8
There are tremendous implications that come from the Babel account
---- It explains the amazing cultural connectivity of ancient peoples—like pyramid building, common flood legends, and ancient, non-Christian genealogies that link people back to biblical figures (e.g., many of the royal houses of pagan northern Europe go back to Japheth, the son of Noah).

From a Biblical perspective, the current human population easily fits
into the standard model of population growth using very conservative parameters. In fact, starting with 6 people and doubling the population every 150 years more than accounts for the current human population (a growth rate of less than 0.5% per year!). Population size would have increased quickly given the rate at which the post-Flood population reestablished agriculture, animal husbandry, industry and civilization.
Q: So we must ask the question, “Why are there so few people in the world today?”
A: The answer is that the world is young and we have not been here many thousands of years.

Q: When did the dispersion occur?
A: Our best clue about the timing of the event comes from Genesis 10:25. In referencing the 5th generation descendent of Shem, a man named Peleg, it says, “in his days the earth was divided.”
Q: To what is this referring?
A: ....this passage is referring to the division of people at Babel.
There are 16 named sons born to the three brothers, Shem, Ham and
Japheth. If we assume about the same number of daughters, Noah had on the order of 30 grandchildren. At that rate of growth, there would have been about 150 children in Salah’s generation, about 750 in Eber’s generation, and about 3,750 in Peleg’s generation. Of course, these generations overlap, etc., so let’s say there were between 1,000 and 10,000 people alive at the time of Babel. This fits nicely with the available data. It is a high rate of growth, but wars and disease had yet to start taking their toll.

There is one more verse in this section that we need to discuss:
These were the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.Gen 10:32
---At Babel, God did not separate the nations according to language. ---He used language to separate them according to paternal (male) ancestry!
---This has monumental significance and is the key to understanding human genetic history.
---Paternal sorting would lead to specific Y chromosome lineages in different geographical locations. Since males and females from the three main families should have been freely intermixing prior to this, it also leads to a mixing of the mitochondrial lines.
*It is as if God put all the people into a giant spreadsheet and hit a button called “Sort According to Father.” He then took that list and used it to divide up and separate the nations.

We already saw that Y chromosomes have little variation among
them. We now add the fact that this little bit of variation is almost always geographically specific. That is, after the nations were separated according to Y chromosome, mutations occurred in the various lines. Since the lines were sent to specific geographical areas, the mutations are geographically specific. The current distribution of Y chromosome lines is a tremendous confirmation of the Biblical model.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) adds another confirmation. We have
already learned that there are three main lineages of mtDNA. We now add the fact that these three lineages are more or less randomly distributed across the world. Also, the various mutations within each of the three main families of mtDNA are geographically specific as well.

---In other words, as the three mixed mitochondrial lines were carried along with the Y chromosome dispersal, each line in each area began to pick up new mutations, just like we would predict." CMI
