The "Really" File - (Weebles Wobble at the Vatican)
As one irate Italian wrote on social media of the Vatican manger scene, “Ugliness is the first thing you notice, followed by a lack of familial warmth and the distancing guaranteed by the cylindrical figures. If you wish to judge harshly, the cylinders call to mind the sacred poles of Satanic cults condemned in the Bible.”
Traditionally, a manger scene is intended to evoke feelings of piety

and devotion — not pity and revulsion — over the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, and thus this particularly regrettable work offends not only aesthetic sensibilities, but also the religious reverence of the faithful.
The Vatican said the Nativity scene exhibited in St. Peter’s Square was created by the students and faculty of the FA Grue Art Institute, a state-run high school for design.
Papal Notes - Francis' Hindu Moment
Vatican News: You certainly must have read Pope Francis’ Encyclical “Laudato Si’” What impression did it make on you?
Dr. Vandana Shiva: I have not just read Pope Francis’s Encyclical Laudato Si’, I participated in the dialogues at the Vatican on Redefining the Economy and going beyond the Economy of Indifference. When I read Laudato Si’ I felt I was reading our ancient Vedic texts, especially the Atharvaveda on our duty to have reverence for the Earth and all her beings.
Here we have a Hindu physicist who says that the Pope’s encyclical on climate, Laudato Si’, is steeped in pantheistic mysticism.

Genesis 13:13
"A Roman Catholic priest accused of collecting thousands of child pornography images while serving overseas and then bringing them with him when he returned to the United States is now facing federal charges, authorities announced Thursday.
The Rev. William McCandless, 56, of Wilmington, Delaware, pleaded not guilty to the counts during an initial court appearance in Philadelphia. He is charged with possessing child porn for importation into the Unites States, transporting child porn in interstate and foreign commerce and attempting to access with intent to view child porn.Creation Moment 12/11/2020 - Coupling Colossians 1 with Hebrews 1

IN the NEWS - Creator's Light Show this Week
The Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has issued G1, G2, and G3 geomagnetic storm watches for the nights of Wednesday, December 9, and Thursday, December 10.
The brief period of a G3 storm alert on the night of December 9 could mean that the northern lights will be seen relatively far south in the continental United States. If it arrives as expected, that could mean a view as far south as parts of northern Illinois and
Pennsylvania, among many other places across the country. The watches issued by the SWPC are a measure of the solar activity hitting Earth’s atmosphere. That solar energy can result in the beautiful auroral displays visible at both of the Earth’s poles. When an especially strong burst of solar energy from a coronal mass ejection (CME) arrives, that can make the aurora borealis visible in areas where it doesn’t appear with much frequency. You know, like much of the US." MichaelSavage.com
Lesson of the Egyptian Midwives
However, as Moses writes in Exodus, “But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the male children live” (Ex. 1:17).
Even though they received pressure from the king to kill the sons, they feared God more than they feared the king. Despite the risk, they decided to let the Hebrew boys live, and God blessed them for it. One of the Hebrew boys who was allowed to live was named Moses." Crosswalk

Wang Yun was arrested last year after children at a kindergarten in Jiaozuo city were rushed to hospital after eating their morning porridge.
The court said she put sodium nitrite in the breakfast of her colleague's students for revenge after a fallout.
It described Ms. Wang as "despicable and vicious".
On Monday a local court in Jiaozuo sentenced Ms. Wang to death.
It said in a statement that she had put sodium nitrite into the porridge of the young students of another teacher in "revenge" after they had "argued over student management issues".
The court also said this was not the first time Ms. Wang had poisoned people, referencing an earlier incident where she bought nitrite online and poisoned her husband who suffered minor injuries.
One of the poisoned children died in hospital in January after spending 10 months in hospital.
The sentence is carried out by lethal injection or by firing squad." BBC

IN the NEWS - "Space Rabies" Next?... Let's Hope Not...
Patches of the green and black fungus have been discovered behind control panels, in the ship’s air conditioner, communications unit, and on many other surfaces. Not only was the fungus growing everywhere, the patches proved difficult to eradicate.
According to Russian microbiologist Natalia Novikova, there is the potential that in the thick radiation of space, the fungi could mutate into a more virulent threat – possibly causing harm to space travelers with already weakened immune systems, or even brought back to Earth. Organisms like fungus secrete a wide range of corrosive agents like acetic acid, which can damage metal, glass, and other equipment, and even releases toxins into the environment for humans to absorb.“(Spacecraft) are closed systems, and there is very little room for error,” said Ralph Mitchell, a professor of applied biology at Harvard who has been working with NASA to address the threat. “Within days, all of the astronauts share all of the same microflora … like children in kindergarten.”
Mitchell’s experiments for NASA involved observing the behavior of fungus placed on plastic and metal surfaces. The plastics bubbled, released fumes, and broke apart. Fungi ate through the metal, creating microscopic fissures and pits that weakened the surface.
This same fungus was found in a boy who was bitten by a bat in the canary islands. Doctors first thought it was a new strain of rabies, contacted WHO, and after the boy died within 72 hours of being bitten an autopsy was completed, the fungi had eaten his organs out from the inside as he was alive causing multiple organ failure. His skin sagged all over his body as the fungus ate the insides out from him.
Authorities culled this group of bats, the only other place this fungus has been found is on the Russian Mir space station!" PermaResearchInstitute
Creation Moment 12/9/2020 - How Rabies Revealed a "Map"
Rabies can be a fantastic tool, in the right hands. Inject it into an organ, and the nerves that feed that organ will take the virus up and carry it backward toward the central nervous system. En route, the virus hijacks the machinery of the nerves in the cell body and dendrites to replicate and grow its numbers, then cross the synapse from a neuron backwards into all of its inputs.
By charting the progress of the virus, scientists can map out the neural connections between an organ and the brain in ways that were previously impossible. In this case, Strick and his team injected the adrenal glands of monkeys.
Rabies moves at a predictable rate, replicating every eight to 10 hours, moving rapidly through chains of neurons and revealing a network. The researchers could allow the virus to move up the nervous system and reach the brain but could sacrifice the monkey before it showed any symptoms of infection.“If someone dies of a herpes infection, their temporal lobes look like soup,” Strick explained to me. He contrasted that with the brain of someone who dies of a rabies infection, which looks grossly normal. It’s still an open question how exactly rabies disables our nerves. It can live inside a neuron for a while innocuously—which allows rabies to move through a population.
When the virus has had enough time to travel a predictable distance, the researchers anesthetize the animal, wash out its blood, perfuse the central nervous system with fixatives, and use antibodies to detect where the virus has spread. The kills were timed to various stages to create a map. By the time you’ve gone through several sets of synapses that mapping is an enormous task. There’s an exponential increase in the number of neurons.
Once they managed to chart the connections, though, the researchers were astounded at what they saw. The motor areas in the brain connect to the adrenal glands. In the primary motor cortex of the brain, there’s a map of the human body—areas that correspond to the face, arm, and leg area, as well as a region that controls the axial body muscles (known to many people now as “the core”).
The Pitt team didn't think the primary motor cortex would control the adrenal medulla at all. But there are a whole lot of neurons there that do. And when you look at where those neurons are located, most are in the axial muscle part of that cortex." ePocket

SDA Issues - Journey Magazines Journey from the Church
"The vague and fanciful interpretations of Scripture, and the many conflicting theories concerning religious faith that are found in the Christian world, are the work of our great adversary to confuse minds so that they shall not discern the truth. And the discord and division which exist among the churches of Christendom are in a great measure due to the prevailing custom of wresting the Scriptures to support a favorite theory. Instead of carefully studying Gods word with humility of heart to obtain a knowledge of His will, many seek only to discover something odd or original."
- In place of conspiracy theories and fear-mongering about the end of the world, I suggest we insert the good news of Jesus Christ in the context of objective facts about what’s happening to our planet.
- We’re told that a “third of the trees . . . and all green grass” will be “burned up.” “A third of the living creatures in the sea” die. “A third of the waters” become “bitter” and many people die because of it. “A third” of the “sun,” “moon,” and “stars” “were darkened” (Rev. 8:7-12)
- The biodiversity of our planet is experiencing a holocaust, and an estimated 1 million species are at risk of extinction.
- Two billion people depend on ecosystems in dry land areas, and the United Nations estimates roughly 50 million people might be displaced within 10 years.
- The prophecy about “a third” of the sun, moon, and stars going dark could be interpreted in number of different ways, but it could easily point toward ecological problems with our planet.
- Our air is so bad that worldwide 4.2 million people die each year from being exposed to outside air. Some 91 percent of the world’s population live where the air quality doesn’t meet World Health Organization standards.
- When we look up, we no longer see the heavens in the way God intended. Many of us are harmed by the air we breathe.
- Our society generally doesn’t have much patience or need for conspiracy theories and fearmongering.
- We Adventists have the luxury of having science actually support our end-time theology.
From the Great Controversy to the Green Controversy
The moral issues that have been fought over throughout the 6,000-
year controversy between Christ and Satan are about to change. It’s no longer about sin, disobedience, rebellion, apostasy and lawlessness. No, not anymore. Now it’s about sustainability, biodiversity, clean energy and climate change. The great adversaries of Revelation used to be the beast, the image and the false prophets. That’s all changed now.Today, they have become our friends. They are now our new allies in the New Green Controversy.
