Nature Magazine reported “the National Council of Educational

Research and Training (NCERT) — the public body that develops the Indian school curriculum and textbooks — released textbooks for the new academic year that started in May.”

Typical are the comments of Stanford University science-education researcher Jonathan Osborne who opined: “Anybody who’s trying to teach biology without dealing with evolution is not teaching biology as we currently understand it … It’s that fundamental to biology.”

 

 Science educators are particularly concerned about the removal of evolution. A chapter on diversity in living organisms and one called ‘Why do we fall ill’ has been removed from the syllabus for class-9 students, who are typically 14–15 years old. Darwin’s contributions to evolution, how fossils form and human evolution have all been removed from the chapter on heredity and evolution for class-10 pupils. That chapter is now called just ‘Heredity.’”

 

India has 256 million primary and secondary students. In short, the claim was made by those opposing evolution’s removal that “Evolution… is essential to understanding human diversity and our place in the world.” Not a word was mentioned in the protests about the many documented problems with the Darwinian worldview.

Physicists can take a solid, liquid or plasma made of a vast number of particles, subject it to extreme temperatures and pressures, and describe the resulting system as a few robust, particlelike entities. The emerging quasiparticles can be quite stable with well-defined properties like mass and charge.

No other particles can exist there, creating a “gap” that makes it impossible for the Majorana to decay. “The superconducting gap protects the Majorana,” said Das Sarma.

The growing quasiparticle zoo, with its array of unusual characters, offers physicists a toolkit with which they can build analogues of other systems that are hard or impossible to access, such as black holes.

Verresen’s research described how they theoretically modeled

decaying quasiparticles and then gradually cranked up the strength of the interactions between them to see what happened. 

At first the quasiparticles decayed more quickly, as expected. But then — to Verresen’s surprise — when the strength of the interaction became very strong, the quasiparticles bounced back. “Suddenly you have a quasiparticle again that’s infinitely long-lived,” he said."

“despicable” views and threatened to report them, after they suggested that there can only be two genders, according to a recording posted online.

The 3.5-minute audio, which was uploaded on Tik Tok, was captured during class at Rye College in East Sussex, one of ten primary schools run by the Aquinas Trust, which is linked to the Church of England. British media reported the incident on Monday.

During the lesson, the unidentified teacher can be heard arguing with two girls over the idea that there can be only two genders. One of them says gender is linked to biology, and that she expects that view to be respected, just as she respects different opinions on the matter.

The teacher replies that “it’s just not an opinion” and tells the children that there are three biological sexes, including intersex, and that “there are lots of genders”.

The exchange heats up further, with the teacher stating that a person’s gender identity “is not an opinion” and declaring that “if you don't like it you need to go to a different school.”

Those who argue for this ridiculous interpretation of scripture generally cite:

1 Samuel 20, Jonathan learns that his father, King Saul, intends to kill David, who God anointed to replace Saul as king. When Jonathan delivers the news and David knows he has to go into hiding, verse 41 tells us, “And as soon as the boy had gone, David rose from beside the stone heap and fell on his face to the ground and bowed three times. And they kissed one another and wept with one another, David weeping the most.” 

 

Q Spirit, a website that “promotes LGBTQ spirituality,” says of David and Jonathan, “It’s impossible to know whether David and Jonathan expressed their love sexually. Some consider David to be bisexual, since the Hebrew scriptures also recount how he committed adultery with Bathsheba and later made her one of his eight wives. There is no doubt that many people today do honor David and Jonathan as gay saints.”

 

Naturally, all of this is untrue. GotQuestions reminds us that “the Hebrew word for ‘love’ used here covers a broad range of meanings and does not mean ‘romantic’ or ‘sexual’ love unless the context demands it.”

"Io is the most volcanically active body in our solar system. The

colors of its surface are due to the different temperatures of various sulfur-containing compounds. Io’s volcanism is so intense that at today’s rates, it would have turned itself “inside out” more than 100 times in 4.6 billion years. Radioactivity can only make a small contribution to Io’s heat output, so uniformitarian scientists attribute most of Io’s present-day heat to tidal flexing. For a long time, creationists made much of the fact that simple models of tidal flexing could only produce a small fraction of Io’s observed heat output. This was an argument for youth because the only remaining option to explain Io’s warmth was leftover heat from its formation, which is only possible if Io is young.

But these previous calculations focused mainly on gravitational tugs that Jupiter exerted on Io and the other Galilean moons. It was assumed that the tugs the moons exerted on each other were not as important. 

A recent paper, however, claims that this inter-moon tidal heating can be significant if the moons have subsurface liquid or magma oceans. If so, previous tidal heating estimates for these moons may need to be significantly revised.

So, present-day tidal flexing might be capable of explaining Io’s heat output after all. This idea only works, though, if the presumed subsurface oceans have just the right thicknesses. Until additional data or calculations shed more light on the issue, I would caution against dogmatism on this point.

Even so, Io still presents problems for evolutionists because its erupting lavas are rich in magnesium. Geologists would say they are ultramafic. But magnesium is a heavy element, and magnesium should have settled deep into Io’s interior after billions of years. In that case, lavas on Io should be depleted in magnesium, but this isn’t the case.

The idea that Io’s crust is ultramafic (magnesium-rich) seems inconsistent with the well-understood process of magmatic differentiation. Heat flow on Io is sufficiently high that Io was expected to have undergone partial melting and differentiation hundreds of times, producing a low-density crust, depleted in heavy elements like magnesium.

Some scientists think a completely molten core and a crystal-rich magma ocean together could explain how Io’s crust could still be magnesium-rich after billions of years. But both possibilities are disputed by other uniformitarian scientists.

Another option for evolutionists is to claim that Io’s volcanism was much weaker in the past and only recently intensified. This would explain the presence of magnesium in Io’s crust. But this would mean that we’re lucky to be observing Io at such a special time in its history.

A product of The Singularity Group, a chatbot bearing a reasonable facsimile to the classic version of Jesus Christ, was recently launched and, according to the Independent, drew more than 35,000 people to the “ask_jesus” livestream on Twitch. The bio for the page read, “Whether you’re seeking spiritual guidance, looking for a friend, or simply want someone to talk to, you can join on the journey through life and discover the power of faith, hope, and love.” People asked Chatbot Jesus about dating, gaming, abortion, and, of course, gay rights. 

The bot reportedly gave very vague answers and resorted to asking

users to look at an issue from a legal or ethical angle. But the programmer’s politics managed to come through from time to time. The Western Journal notes that when queried on gay marriage, Chatbot Jesus replied, “All love is love.” 

This sounds vague but is actually fairly clear. I’ll leave the issue of gay marriage to someone else, but it is evident that Chatbot Jesus was designed with an agenda in mind. One user for some reason asked Chatbot Jesus to explain the Book of Genesis using a pizza as an example. The bot gave a lengthy, and frankly idiotic, answer.

Aside from producing an arguably wonky Christology, Chatbot Jesus has the capacity to merely affirm what someone already wants to believe. 

This is especially true given the fact that chatbots are usually the product of people who lean solidly to the left. It also deprives someone of the rewarding, albeit often difficult task of reading and wrestling with scripture. Contrary to what some may have you believe, God wants people with fully engaged minds."
