Walker, who was killed in action in France, July 22, is the first soldier from this county to be killed in action since this country entered the war. 

He was the fourth soldier to die in the service, however, Chas. Warnick, son of Lewis Warnick, of Union township, died at Jefferson barracks, St. Louis, last summer and was the first soldier to die.

Marshall Kerns, son of Mr. and Mrs, tom Kern's of this city died at fort Douglas Arizona from pneumonia and Lieutenant Scott Baker, of the regular army, died at San Francisco. 

Walker was born in Douglas county, Missouri. Feb 23 1896, and was 22 years of age his last birthday. 

He had spent most of his life as a farmer boy in this county. 

He registered in the draft June 5 1917, and was sent with the first draft contingent from this county last September, to Camp Taylor. From there he was sent to Camp Shelby, and transferred to Camp Merritt, and was sent overseas last May. since arriving in France he has been in active service with his unit at the front all the time. he is survived by his father and step mother, and a brother, Roy Walker, who is now with the 150th Field Artillery, of the Rainbow division, and who is now in the front line on the Rhelms-Soissons salient. A step-brother, Verlin Rogers, is in the Convoy service on one of the big trans-Atlantic transports. Two sisters, Frances J. Walker and Martha Walker, at home, and Mrs. Walter Winebrenner, of Churubusco, also survive. His father is a day laborer at the Peabody Lumber company's sawmill and is quite aged and feeble, and the death of his son is a hard blow to him. the young man had his life insured with the government for $10,000.

Historian Richard Weikart is among the few analysts who have troubled themselves to read the gunman’s manifesto. When he did, Weikart found that the mental profile of this shooter, like others before him, defies almost every stereotype about white supremacy currently being circulated. The accused killer, while upholding the vilest racism and anti-Semitism, disdains Christianity and conservatism.

"The human body contains more than 200 types of cells by most estimates, all descended from a single fertilized egg. The spindly cells of the skin, the gangly branching neurons, the plump fat cells, the exquisitely sensitive rods and cones of the eye — all of these are products of a long process of development, during which their physical forms altered beyond recognition. With few exceptions, however, all these cells carry the same genes as that fertilized egg. The only thing that changes from cell to cell is which genes are active.

What Happens to the Sanctuary?

The Holy City is called the Tabernacle of God (Rev. 21:3; Isa. 33:20); but it is not called so, until it is situated on the New Earth. 

The City is also called the Temple of God (Rev. 17:15); but not until the saints are raised, and gathered up into the City, where they will serve God "day and night." 

Then the Holy City alone, will be the Tabernacle, or Temple of God."

"The latest record-breaking claim for preserved life is so off the charts that even one staunch evolutionary biologist calls it “outlandish” and “bombastic.” 

But the GSA (Geological Society of America) published it, so it must be true, right? It passed peer review. Isn’t that the gold standard for scientific credibility? You can laugh now – or later, after you read the quote below.

 

Ancient Microorganisms Found in Halite May Have Implications for Search for Life (GSA, 11 May 2022).

Boulder, Colo., USA: Primary fluid inclusions in bedded halite from the 830-million-year-old Browne Formation of central Australia contain organic solids and liquids, as documented with transmitted light and UV-vis petrography. These objects are consistent in size, shape, and fluorescent response to cells of prokaryotes and algae, and aggregates of organic compounds. This discovery shows that microorganisms from saline depositional environments can remain well preserved in halite over hundreds of millions of years and can be detected in situ with optical methods alone. This study has implications for the search for life in both terrestrial and extraterrestrial chemical sedimentary rocks.

The paper in the GSA’s prestigious journal Geology 6 May 2022 is titled “830-million-year-old microorganisms in primary fluid inclusions in halite” and is authored by Sara I. Schreder-Gomes, Kathleen C. Benison, Jeremiah A. Bernau.

 

These three claim that little round objects they looked at in their microscopes are cells, and they might still be alive! 

Q: How do they know they are 830 million years old? 

A: Because they are found in 830-million-year-old rocks. 

Q: How do they know the rocks are that old? 

A: Because that’s what the evolutionary timeline requires. 

Darwin, you see, needs lots of time for lucky accidents to add up and create brains from lifeless chemicals.

 

Evolutionary biologist Dan Graur isn’t buying it. He tweeted a link to a similar claim published in October 2000 by Nature that he says has been discredited: “Isolation of a 250 million-year-old halotolerant bacterium from a primary salt crystal” by Vreeland, Rozenzweig and Powers. Suspecting another pushback is needed, he tweeted a suggested title for it: “The Neoproterozoic Microbe That Isn’t.”

If the claim of a living bacterium from Permian rock is outlandish, how much more one over three times older?

Needless to say, rational thinkers are going to wonder how anything could remain alive for such a huge amount of time. 

Q: Wouldn’t cells trapped in rock have died and decayed a long time ago? 

Q: How could they survive in salt?

"A molecular machine, according to an article in the journal Accounts of Chemical Research, is “an assemblage of parts that transmit forces, motion, or energy from one to another in a predetermined manner.”

Behe then posed the question, “Can all of life be fit into Darwin’s theory of evolution?,” and answered: “The complexity of life’s foundation has paralyzed science’s attempt to account for it; molecular machines raise an as-yet impenetrable barrier to Darwinism’s universal reach.”

1. Bacterial Flagellum

The flagellum is a rotary motor in bacteria that drives a propeller to spin, much like an outboard motor, powered by ion flow to drive rotary motion. Capable of spinning up to 100,000 rpm one paper in

Trends in Microbiology called the flagellum “an exquisitely engineered chemi-osmotic nanomachine; nature’s most powerful rotary motor, harnessing a transmembrane ion-motive force to drive a filamentous propeller.” Due to its motor-like structure and internal parts, one molecular biologist wrote in the journal Cell, “more so than other motors, the flagellum resembles a machine designed by a human.” Genetic knockout experiments have shown that the E. coli flagellum is irreducibly complex with respect to its approximately 35 genes.

2. Eukaryotic Cilium

The cilium is a hair-like, or whip-like structure that is built upon a

system of microtubules, typically with nine outer microtubule pairs and two inner microtubules. The microtubules are connected with nexin arms and a paddling-like motion is instigated with dynein motors. These machines perform many functions in Eukaryotes, such as allowing sperm to swim or removing foreign particles from the throat. Michael Behe observes that the “paddling” function of the cilium will fail if it is missing any microtubules, connecting arms, or lacks sufficient dynein motors, making it irreducibly complex.

3. Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetases (aaRS)

aaRS enzymes are responsible for charging tRNAs with the proper amino acid so they can accurately participate in the process of translation. In this function, aaRSs are an “aminoacylation

machine.” Most cells require twenty different aaRS enzymes, one for each amino acid, without which the transcription/translation machinery could not function properly. As one article in Cell Biology International stated: “The nucleotide sequence is also meaningless without a conceptual translative scheme and physical ‘hardware’ capabilities. Ribosomes, tRNAs, aminoacyl tRNA synthetases, and amino acids are all hardware components of the Shannon message ‘receiver’. But the instructions for this machinery is itself coded in DNA and executed by protein ‘workers’ produced by that machinery. Without the machinery and protein workers, the message cannot be received and understood. And without genetic instruction, the machinery cannot be assembled.” Arguably, these components form an irreducibly complex system.

4. Blood clotting cascade

The blood coagulation system “is a typical example of a molecular machine, where the assembly of substrates, enzymes, protein cofactors and calcium ions on a phospholipid surface markedly accelerates the rate of coagulation.^" According to a paper in BioEssays, “the molecules interact with cell surface (molecules) and other proteins to assemble reaction complexes that can act as a molecular machine.” Michael Behe argues, based upon experimental data, that the blood clotting cascade has an irreducible core with respect to its components after its initiation pathways converge.

5. Ribosome

The ribosome is an “RNA machine” that “involves more than 300

proteins and RNAs” to form a complex where messenger RNA is translated into protein, thereby playing a crucial role in protein synthesis in the cell. Craig Venter, a leader in genomics and the Human Genome Project, has called the ribosome “an incredibly beautiful complex entity” which requires a “minimum for the ribosome about 53 proteins and 3 polynucleotides,” leading some evolutionist biologists to fear that it may be irreducibly complex.

6. Antibodies and the Adaptive Immune System

Antibodies are “the ‘fingers’ of the blind immune system — they allow it to distinguish a foreign invader from the body itself.” But the processes that generate antibodies require a suite of molecular machines. Lymphocyte cells in the blood produce antibodies by mixing and matching portions of special genes to produce over 100,000,000 varieties of antibodies. This “adaptive immune system” allows the body to tag and destroy most invaders.”
