Lesson of an Ignorant Man & a Thermometer

"An ignorant man who saw a thermometer for the first time thought to lessen the heat by breaking it. But how much effect did this have upon the weather? 

Just as much as the wiping out of the record of his sin has upon the sinner. The tearing of a leaf out of a book, or even the burning of the book containing the record, does not blot out the sin. 

The sin is not blotted out by blotting out the account of it, any more than throwing my Bible into the fire abolishes the Word of God. 

 

The blotting out of sin is the erasing of it from the nature, the being of man. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. 

 

Our bodies are but the channel, the border, the sand upon the shore, of the cover of life. Impressions have been made upon us by sin. At the seashore, when you see a smooth piece of sand, your first impulse is to make some mark on it, to write the characters upon it. Then the sea comes up, and each wave that passes over it helps to obliterate the impression until it is entirely blotted out. Even so the stream of life from the throne of God will wash away and blot out the impressions of sin upon us.

The erasing of sin is the blotting of it from our natures, so that we shall know it no more.

The man was coming from the direction of Gaal’s home...David Bonola, 44, of Queens, was arrested Thursday and charged with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon....It is not clear if Bonola has entered a plea or retained an attorney. NYPD sources tell PEOPLE Bonola is the handyman police wanted to speak to in the days following Gaal's death. Bonola and Gaal at one time had a romantic relationship, and it's likely he knew where the family stored a spare key to their Forest Hills residence, the sources say."

For the first time there is a change in the creation story. 

On day one God created, declared what He had created as good, and there was evening and morning.  

This pattern continues every day until the sixth day when the rhythm is interrupted.

Which Fruit will you CHOOSE to Eat?

"In Romans 5, Paul depicted Adam and Christ as two heads of humanity, whose respective rebellion and obedience resulted in death and life, respectively, for those under them.

 

Here Paul depicts two modes of life, 

one unbelieving and one believing, 

which bear different fruits with different consequences.

The fact that in both Genesis 3 and Romans 6, fruit leads to shame and death is more significant than the mere presence of the same constellation of terms.

In both Genesis 2–3 and Romans 6, fruit also leads to eternal life. In Genesis 2–3, this is the fruit of the tree of life, from which Adam and Eve were free to eat prior to the Fall.

 
However, after the Fall, they were removed from the Tree of Life to prevent their eating and living forever. But as Paul says: “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life” (Romans 6:22). Looking the Church in the Ai

"I HAVE taken two texts from two successive chapters of the book of Joshua. 

 

The first is from Joshua the seventh, at the third verse. The spies

who were sent to Ai returned to Joshua and said to him, "Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai." 

This policy led to a disastrous defeat and our other text gives us the Lord's command concerning the new attack. 

You will find it in the eighth of Joshua and the first verse—"The Lord said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be dismayed: take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai; see, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land." 

 

***The two texts may be condensed into—first, the advice of the spies, to employ only a part of the people in the assault upon Ai—"Let not all the people go up." And, secondly, the command of God to let every fighting man go forth to the war—"Take all the people of war with you." 

 

Brethren, like Israel, we are called to war and we have a greater than Joshua at our head, in whose name we conquer!

I. Let us consider THE ADVICE OF THE SPIES which led to such a shameful defeat. 

And here we shall have to deal with the error of supposing that

only a part of the Church will be sufficient to perform the work of the whole—that a large proportion may be idle—and that the rest will be quite enough to fight the Lord's battles. I feel it to be an error which, though not perhaps theoretically held by any of us, is practically to be seen abroad in our Churches and needs to be met and put to an end.

In Joshua's day this error sprang up among the Israelites because, on account of their sins, God was displeased with them. The commencement of the chapter tells us that the Lord God was angry because the children of Israel had committed a trespass in the accursed thing. Because of the sin of Achan, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people. That was the real reason of their defeat before Ai, but out of that secret cause grew the more manifest source of defeat—because God was displeased with them, they were left to themselves and, therefore, they adopted a fatal policy. 

  

II. In the second place, my text contains THE COMMAND THAT ALL ISRAEL SHOULD GO FORTH TO THE FIGHT. "Take all the men of war with you." 

I will mainly address myself to my Brothers in Christ and what I

have to say to them I say humbly, speaking mainly to myself. Brothers, we must have all our Church members go to the war. The baggage of our army is too heavy. The camp followers are too many. We need to turn out the drones and we need an increase of true working bees. 

Q: How is it to be done? 

A: We must be, ourselves, deeply impressed with the evil brought upon idle Christians by their idleness and the evil which they bring upon the rest of the Church."

9-1-1 clamp -- a DNA damage "first responder" -- attaches itself to the site of a broken DNA strand to activate the DNA damage checkpoint.

The 9-1-1 clamp is shaped like a ring.

Simplifying the Prophetic Outline of the 7 Churches, Seals, Trumpets

And he saith unto me, 

Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book:

"So here are three treatises, all ending only with the end of the world,—

The seven churches, you will see if you look carefully, are seven

definite epistles to the true church in its seven periods.

The seven seals are composed of seven steps marking the apostasy, the Reformation, and the events connected with the coming of the Lord.

 

The seven churches are seven instructions to Christ’s church itself.

The seven seals take the church of God at the beginning, 

---and show a step away, and another step away toward the world, and another step away toward the world, until the apostasy is complete; 

---then the result of the apostasy is marked in the slaughter of the saints of God; and after that the vindication of the saints, the signs of the Lord’s coming, and the sealing and deliverance of the remnant.

 

The seven trumpets are seven phases of the history among the nations of the world, as they are connection with the church history. Each of the trumpets is directly connected with the church history; particularly the first four come as a consequence of the apostasy that is shown in the seals.

 

When you have searched out and carefully read the full history of the book of Daniel, especially the ten kingdoms, it is easy to read, in the eighth chapter of Revelation, the whole history of the first four trumpets, because the history is there.

 

The first four trumpets occur in the same period as does the rise of the ten kingdoms. And the rise of the ten kingdoms was upon the fall of Rome.

 

Q: But what caused Rome to fall?

A: The union of church and state; the covering of all the iniquity of paganism, with only the forms and the profession of Christianity. The forms of Christianity, filled with the life and spirit of Satan,—it was that which caused the ruin of the Roman Empire." A.T. Jones

"Carbon-14 cannot be used to date very ancient things. As Dr Jonathan Sarfati pointed out in our documentary Evolution’s Achilles’ Heels, if the entire earth were composed of carbon-14, it would completely vanish in less than a million years.

To understand why, one needs to understand the concept of a half-

life. This is simply the amount of time it takes for ½ of a radioactive material to break down. If the earth were a giant ball of pure carbon-14, after only one half-life (5,700 ± 30 years) fully one-half of all the atoms would have already decayed (into nitrogen-14 atoms). After less than 12,000 years, only ¼ of the earth would remain. There are about 1×10⁵⁰ atoms within our planet. If half of those disappear every 5,700 years, there would not be a single carbon-14 atom left before one million years had passed. 

 

For this reason, carbon dating can only be used on recent material, and it cannot be used for estimating ages in the millions- or billions-of-years range. So, no, carbon dating does not prove the earth is old." CMI

Why the Reformers Frowned on "Easter"

"Martin Luther and his fellow reformers forever changed Christianity
and the Western world. Their mounting opposition to Roman Catholic rituals, teachings and control over everyday life led to the formation of new faith groups, whose followers were collectively called Protestants. 

No religious practice was safe from the reformers' scrutiny, not even Easter..."(Protestants) were very big on regulating their worship exclusively by the scripture, and the Bible doesn't mention Easter or any Christian festivals," said Alec Ryrie.
