Reportedly, Matthew Kay, an educator and author of a book on the topic of “how to lead meaningful race conversations in the classroom,” recently tweeted,

So, this fall, virtual class discussion will have many potential spectators—parents, siblings, etc.—in the same room. We’ll never be quite sure who is overhearing the discourse. What does this do for our equity/inclusion work?
How much have students depended on the (somewhat) secure barriers of our physical classrooms to encourage vulnerability? How many of us have installed some version of “what happens here stays here” to help this?
While conversation about race are in my wheelhouse, and remain a concern in this no-walls environment—I am most intrigued by the damage that “helicopter/snowplow” parents can do in the host conversations about gender/sexuality. And while “conservative” parents are my chief concern—I know that the damage can come from the left too. If we are engaged in the messy work of destabilizing a kid’s racism or homophobia or transphobia—how much do we want their classmates’ parents piling on?

Apparently, many other teachers chimed in on the post, some disgusted with Kay’s comments, others supporting them and offering ideas on how teachers can cope with parents listening in on instruction:

• One teacher said she’d also been “thinking about” the problem Kay described, and had decided that she’d ask students about their preferred pronouns via survey—though she still worries that “caregivers” might see it and learn something about their children that they weren’t supposed to know.
• Another teacher said that students last semester would sometimes “type secrets into the chat” whenever the discussion turned to “anti-racism and gender inclusive content.”
• A ninth-grade teacher shared in the commiseration, saying that her class required students to “read and respond to a news article,” but that participation in this exercise is stunted now because “outsiders” [i.e., parents] are “listening.”
• A teacher with pronouns listed in her Twitter handle said that she plans to use the chat function more than voice lectures because she wants children to share “information” with her in a “parentless way.”
• A science teacher agreed with all of the sentiments expressed here and summarized it bluntly: “Parents are dangerous.”

In this view, parents are the enemy, and secular teachers, armed

with a radical worldview that opposes the Bible, are the ones who can properly guide, nurture, instruct, and, really, brainwash these children in the way they should go.
“Parents are dangerous.” Increasingly those who hold to a secular worldview see children as wards of the state—to be indoctrinated with secular ideology and shielded from negative influences of parents and, particularly, parents’ personal beliefs.

In this view, parents are the enemy, and secular teachers, armed with a radical worldview that opposes the Bible, are the ones who can properly guide, nurture, instruct, and, really, brainwash these children in the way they should go.

IMAGINE what one could do with this in the end times...

"University of Western Michigan philosophy professor Parker Crutchfield recently suggested getting people to take a pill to promote more “pro-social” behavior in order to better fight off COVID-19.

He argues that the United States is not equipped for a fight against the disease just by expecting everyone to work together, as in, say, World Wars I and II.
Academic nonprofit The Conversation has published an opinion piece by ethicist Parker Crutchfield in which Crutchfield advocated for the compulsory use of “morality pills” to force people to comply with mask mandates.
“To me, it seems the problem of coronavirus defectors could be solved by moral enhancement: like receiving a vaccine to beef up your immune system, people could take a substance to boost their cooperative, pro-social behavior,” Crutchfield says,

acknowledging that the idea is a “far-out proposal that’s bound to be controversial.”
The bioethics professor goes on to bemoan the gall of citizens who refuse to comply with mask mandates, and recommends “moral enhancement,” which he describes as “the use of substances to make you more moral.”

The remedy to the latter problem, Crutchfield theorizes, “would be

to make moral enhancement compulsory or administer it secretly, perhaps via the water supply.”

Crutchfield’s moral enhancement strategy may not be as much of a “far-out proposal” as one may think at first glance.
Doctors have also recommended injecting lithium into the public water supply to combat record high rates of depression and suicide during the COVID-19 lockdowns.


2020: Richard Weikart of California State University, Stanislaus, notes that “morality pill” ideas have been widely promoted within the transhumanist movement, which aims at ultimately transcending death through technology. He warns:

… transhumanists have no basis for any objective morality,

so whenever they talk about promoting morality, they are merely pushing for whatever they personally think is moral. If other people disagree with their moral vision, then there is no way to adjudicate (other than by reference to who has the power to impose their morality on others—the Nietzschean solution). This means that whatever “morality pills” are administered to the public will be to impose the moral vision of the technocratic elite, rather than to promote objective moral standards."

SDA Issues - Should Diop Resign?

"The truth is finally coming out. Just last week Ganoune Diop published a polemic essay defending the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s involvement in interfaith relationships with Roman Catholics and other churches.
The article was circulated far and wide by the Adventist Review, a

church-owned publication. In the article Ganoune Diop criticized with cruel and bitter vitriol all those who oppose his meetings with Pope Francis and the interfaith movement.

It turns out that Ganoune Diop conveniently forgot to mention to the global readership of the Adventist Review that he is currently completing a PhD degree at a Roman Catholic seminary. So while Diop was defending the church’s interfaith relationship with Rome and while he was attacking Seventh-day Adventists for questioning those relationships, Diop failed to disclose a major, personal conflict of interest.

Diop is a pupil and he is being trained, disciplined and indoctrinated by the agents of Rome. This makes his report in the Adventist Review dishonest, biased and unfair. It makes his attacks against faithful Seventh-day Adventists repugnant and scandalous. He ought to do the honorable thing and apologize. Then he should resign.

Diop has a special connection with the top Roman Catholic Cardinals in the Catholic Church. Catholic Cardinals such as Alfred Baudrillart, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Cardinal Franc Rode, Cardinal George Alencherry and Cardinal André Vingt-Trois.

What “common ground” and “shared interest” does Ganoune Diop have with these top agents of Rome? They are all cut from the same cloth. Diop is attending the same Roman Catholic seminary that prominent leaders in Rome have already gone through.

Ganoune Diop has earned a PhD candidacy from the Institut Catholique de Paris (Catholic University of Paris). This means that he has completed all of his coursework, classes and examinations and is currently working on his thesis/dissertation at this Roman Catholic institution. This is not just any ordinary Catholic institution – it is a university that prides itself in providing “training which meet the academic standards of the Holy See.”

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is charging Fr. Michael Zacharias, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel parish in Findlay, Ohio with sexually assaulting minors and adults as recently as last month.

The priest was arrested by the Northwest Ohio Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force on Tuesday after the priest offered the 7 a.m. Mass at his parish.
The priest allegedly paid the male victims money for years in order to support their drug habits in exchange for being allowed to perform oral sex on them. The FBI stumbled onto the sex abuse claims against the priest while investigating one of the alleged victims for drug abuse.
According to the FBI's complaint, an examination of one victim's phone "revealed sexual conversations" between the victim and the accused, including a "Fr.Z" recording as recently as July."

guests to discuss the topic of Raising up Transgendered Youth and Young Adults, including one panelist which identifies as a “Transgender Non-Binary/Gender-transcendent Mermaid Queen-King” who is also an ordained minister.

During the panel, Sanchez first asked Jenny Vu Mai, the aforementioned mermaid, what the newly licensed minister learned in Divinity School and what she would have missed if she hadn’t attended. She replied:

Something that I would have missed if I chose a different path is that some of the holiest people, and the people who most resemble what God looks like to me are black trans folk and in particular black trans women…

 

When the DNC moderator asked her what sort of questions persons of color, trans, and non-binary youth are asking in this day and age, Mai was adamant that the very existence of the police and prisons were bewildering to teens, who thought they ought to be abolished.

 

When asked by another interviewer how her identity as

transgendered and non-binary affected her faith and practice, Mai was…confusing.

I identify as somewhat Christian but also somewhat agnostic. I perceive the binary between Christian or not Christian like I perceive gender to be a false binary. There are so many nuances of what it means to be Christian, what it means to be a non-binary Christian….

In that sense, she is a perfect representative of the Democratic Party, and it is not surprising in the least that the DNC featured her as a guest."

Fitch Said It First

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Revelation 18:2

"Charles Fitch, a Millerite preacher, said it best in his call to the Christian churches.  

Fitch was the first person to apply the term “Babylon” to both Rome and the fallen Protestant churches in 1843.

May these words reverberate in Adventist pulpits around the world because in times of great crisis there have always appeared preachers of righteousness who did not hesitate to proclaim the pure word of God:

“But I do say, if you are a Christian, come out of Babylon! If you intend to be found a Christian when Christ appears, come out of Babylon, and come out Now! Throw away that miserable medley of ridiculous spiritualizing nonsense with which multitudes have so long been making the word of God of none effect, and dare to believe the Bible. It contains the wisdom of the infinite God as it is, and needs no alterations and emendations from men, as though they could tell what God means, better than He has been able to express it in his own language.” (Charles Fitch, Millerite preacher, 1843 “Come Out of Her My People”)."

"It is evident that beliefs stemming from antiquity regarding the

existence of mythical creatures continued into the early modern period, despite clear statements of caution from Augustine.

Popular superstition and mythology filtered into the minds of many academics when faced with new, but limited numbers of primate specimens from Africa and Asia. These were depicted through sometimes poor drawings, which reinforced error through several centuries.

Tyson’s analysis from the late 17^th century showed that there was a clear distinction between apes and human beings, and he argued persuasively that many of the claims from ancient times were most probably sightings of apes and monkeys. Such rational thinking should have clarified matters for science, although Tyson’s work left an opportunity for confusion, and was later criticized by Camper.

Further confusion arose through Linnaeus’ classification scheme which placed human beings within the Primate order, alongside apes and monkeys which were classified within the subgenus Homo nocturnus.
This classification was reinforced by the embellished drawings of Hoppius, arguably one of the first imaginative ape-to-man march-of-progress drawings.

When Darwin and Huxley resurrected the evolutionary link in the 19^th century, it was on the basis of comparative brain physiology.
Belief in evolution also fed upon an undercurrent of popular mythology that there existed missing links between apes and men, but the search for the missing links soon passed from the present to the fossil record."

"Buffon challenged Linnaeus’ views on the basis of his own study of apes, possessing a live specimen from Africa (called Jocko or Enjocko from the Congo), but he relied upon the reports of travellers for the large orang-outang from Asia (this animal he called Pongo).


His Jocko did not speak, not even in a hissing tone, and displayed no more intelligence than a well-trained dog, despite having some

superficial similarity to humans. In the late 18^th century Lord Monboddo was more determined to identify an evolutionary link between humans and apes. He practiced as a judge in Scotland, and was otherwise known as James Burnett (1714–1799).
Monboddo was influenced by the Greek philosophers, and he argued that the Aristotelian great chain of being should extend from apes to man via a gradual process of evolution.
He continued to accept the accounts of travellers regarding the orang-outang, and with credulity the existence of the strange Plinean beings from the ancient world. He was mocked for suggesting men once had tails.
His arguments were put forward in two volumes: Of the origin and progress of language (1773–1792), and Antient Metaphysics (1779– 1799). Monboddo maintained, without evidence, that apes and monkeys possessed a rudimentary language, thus reinforcing the link to mankind and worked doggedly in support of his position.

He also speculated that early man had lived peaceably close to nature and had a primitive language. To support his view, he proposed a number of experiments and studied several accounts of feral children. Monboddo’s acquaintance, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, had earlier argued for the social evolution of mankind from a state of nature, with early man living in blissful ignorance like the apes.

Monboddo also rejected anatomical studies by Peter Camper that found no evidence of speech organs on the orang-outang—this on the basis that Camper’s animals came from Borneo."
