It is slightly smaller and cooler than our Sun and hosts at least five massive planets: K2-138b, c, d, e, and f.

--The alien worlds are all between the size of Earth and Neptune: --planet K2-138b may potentially be rocky,
--but planets K2-138c, d, & f likely contain large amounts of ice and gas.

All five planets have orbital periods shorter than two weeks (2.35,

3.56, 5.40, 8.26, and 12.76 days) and are incredibly hot, ranging from 800 to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (427-982 degrees Celsius).

The planets also appear to orbit their star in concentric circles, forming a tightly packed planetary system, unlike our own elliptical, far-flung Solar System.

3 Events of the Real "Catastrophism"

With neo-catastrophism they are inching closer towards the Biblical Flood....

"The inadequacies of strict uniformitarianism have become increasingly obvious in recent years so that a great many of the more recent geologists have been promoting what they call “neo-catastrophism.”

It has become generally recognized that even the ordinary processes of sedimentation and fossilization must often have at least a semi-catastrophist basis, requiring rapid deposition and burial under conditions seldom encountered in the modern world. Many geologists today are arguing for the occurrence of several large-scale geological catastrophes (region-wide floods, asteroid bombardments, vast volcanic outflows, sudden climatological shifts, etc.) as significant in deciphering earth history. In fact, more and more modern geologists are realizing that very few, if any, of the ordinary geological formations can be explained in terms of the slow and relatively steady processes of the present.

Evolutionists sometimes try to use Occam’s razor to refute catastrophism, arguing that catastrophes are less likely than uniform processes.

Actually,

Occam’s razor would seem to cut the other way.

Since large catastrophes are now being acknowledged anyhow, it might be argued that one great catastrophe would be more likely than many such events.

The major elements of the Biblical framework, within which all data should be organized, are three great recorded facts of history.
These events are:

(1) the Creation;

(2) the Fall; and

(3) the Flood.

Each of these three affected the entire globe.
If they really occurred, as the Bible unequivocally teaches, then to deny or ignore them locks geologists into a drastically false (or at least unprovable and very improbable) reconstruction of earth history.

The fact of a real Creation; out of nothing but the power of the eternal God, is fundamental to any form of theism and especially to Christian theism.

For if anything at all has really been created, that substance must necessarily have been created with some “appearance of age.”  Denial of the possibility of the creation of “apparent age,” (or “apparent functioning maturity”) amounts to denial of the possibility of any genuine creation at all and thus essentially amounts to atheism (which is itself a “religious” perspective).

The second basic fact around which historical data must be organized is that of the great Curse on the earth following man’s Fall.

According to the revelation given by God, the original creation was, in every respect, “very good” (Genesis 1:31). There was nothing bad, out of balance, or out of harmony—no suffering, no struggle for survival and, above all, no death in the world. --According to the apostle Paul, “by man came death” (I Corinthians 15:21).
--When man first sinned, God pronounced the great Curse, not only on man but also on his whole dominion, the earth and everything in it. This Curse primarily involves the principle of decay and death. The “whole creation” is now in the “bondage of corruption” (that is, “decay”), according to Romans 8:21-22.
There is, everywhere, a natural tendency toward disintegration and ultimate death.
This Biblical doctrine is firmly supported by the second law of thermodynamics. This law, which like the first law, is as strongly proved as any fact of science, states that, in any closed system, there is a natural increase of disorganization, or an increase in entropy (or disordered randomness).
Everything therefore at least tends to wear out, to grow old, to run down, and finally to approach a state of death. Obviously this law flatly contradicts the notion of evolution, which assumes that everything naturally tends to become more orderly and highly organized (or at least that is what has happened if evolution has really proceeded from “particles to people” over the ages, as evolutionists claim).

....the third basic fact in the Biblical framework. If the great thicknesses of fossil-bearing strata through the earth’s crust have been deposited only after man’s Fall, then nothing less than worldwide catastrophic deposition can possibly account for most of them. The Bible clearly describes this unique catastrophe, and we now know it as the Genesis Flood or as the Great Deluge in the days of Noah.
According to the apostle Peter, “the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished” (II Peter 3:6). As described in the Bible, the flood waters battered the entire globe for a year and were immensely destructive in effect.
All of the processes of
-sedimentation,
-volcanism,
-tectonism,
-fossilization, etc.,
were extremely active during this period.
No true scheme of historical geology could possibly be erected without full consideration of the tremendous geologic records that must necessarily have been inscribed in the earth’s crust by this awesome event."

And gave a guarded warning that those who constantly blame the Church are in league with the great accuser himself, the devil.

"Those who spend their lives accusing, accusing, and accusing are – I won't say children, because the devil doesn't have any – but they are the friends, cousins and relatives of the devil," he said."

Last year, Mirjam Heine, a German medical student gave a TEDxTalk “Why perception of pedophilia has to change.” Included in her basic premise, “pedophilia is an unchangeable sexual orientation just like, for example, heterosexuality. No one chooses to be a pedophile, no one can cease being one.” To assert that it’s not only like “heterosexuality,” but also “unchangeable” is deeply disturbing.
Slowly and methodically, those who want to decriminalize the predatory sexual abuse committed by pedophiles are tacitly doing so one state government bill at a time.
State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Assemblywoman Susan Eggman (D-Stockton) introduced recent legislation “to end blatant discrimination against LGBT young people regarding California’s sex offender registry.”
However, under their bill, SB 145, the offenders would not have to automatically register as sex offenders if the offenders are within 10 years of age of the minor.
SB 145 would add a section to the state’s penal code (Section 290.55) stipulating that as long as the offender is “not more than 10 years older than the minor,” they are not automatically mandated to register as a sex offender. There is no age limit or range specified, except for existing law which already excludes lewd acts with children under 14.
SB 145 appears to allow adults to victimize minors by luring them with the intent to have sex, and then shields the predator from being automatically registered as a sex offender, as in the case of a 25 year old luring a 15 year old for sex, or a 22 year old luring a 12 year old."

Creation Moment 2/23/2019 - Baal-Peor Lesson of Evolution Gallery

"An Israeli evolutionist is luring the public into a shrine to the Bearded Buddha.

 Nature this week gave Israel Hershkovitz a platform to advertise, “My hopes for Israel’s human-evolution gallery.” 
His gallery will be an indoctrination center to undermine faith in the God of Israel and replace it with faith in Darwin-Baal, the nature god.

We read about the incident at Baal-Peor in the Pentateuch (Numbers 25, summarized in Deuteronomy 4), and how God judged the people who had turned away from the true God after having been eyewitnesses of His glory repeatedly.

 

You can be sure that the advertisers of Baal-Peor were really slick. They just wanted to “help” the Israelites.

Look how fun it is to worship Baal, they said; you can have all the sex and wine you want, and call it worship. Can’t you imagine the Canaanite ‘scientists’ or intelligentsia of that day arguing for the truth of Baal over Yahweh? The tangible images of Baal must have seemed so much more naturalistic to the people than an invisible God. Here was a god you could hold in your hands, and he would let you do whatever you want!

 

Now it’s happening again in the same Holy Land, and the outcome will be predictable: judgment for all who turn away from the truth, and double judgment on those who put stumbling blocks in people’s way."

The Holy Father emphasized that we cannot really speak of sustainable development without solidarity. He concluded his message with by thanking those taking part, and with the prayer that the Lord might bless their commitment for a more just and prosperous world for everyone.

The phrase "sustainable development" has become a shorthand way of referring to the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals. It is a 17-point plan, and if you read the entire thing, you quickly realize that it encompasses just about every realm of human activity that you can possibly imagine.
It is not just a plan to fight climate change. It is actually a comprehensive blueprint for global governance, and it envisions a much larger role for global institutions such as the U.N. in the years ahead.

But in the context of speaking about "sustainable development," the pope once again used the term "solidarity." This is a word that he has been using a lot lately, and when he uses it, he is referring to the need for global unity. More specifically, he almost always uses this buzzword when speaking of the need for global religious unity."

Natural DNA is composed of four molecules, called nitrogenous bases, that pair up with each other to form the code for life on Earth: A binds with T; G binds with C. The Hachimoji DNA includes these four natural bases, plus four more synthetically-made nucleotide bases: P, B, Z and S.
Natural DNA has a hallmark property that no other genetic molecule seems to have: It's stable and predictable. That means that researchers can calculate exactly how it will behave in certain temperatures and environments, including when it will degrade.
But it turns out that the researchers were also able to do this with the Hachimoji DNA — they could come up with a set of rules that can predict the DNA's stability when it is exposed to different temperatures.

Health Note - New Marijuana Disease: Scromiting / Cromiting

"A mysterious illness induced by excessive marijuana use can cause bouts of uncontrolled vomiting and debilitating nausea, doctors say.
Doctors have only recently begun to recognize the prevalence of Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS), a condition characterized by chronic cannabis use,
--cyclic episodes of nausea and vomiting,
--and the compulsion to take hot baths or showers.
The syndrome typically affects just a small portion of the population – heavy, long-term marijuana users.

CHS has become so common in the emergency room of Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, some doctors refer to CHS as “scromiting,” an amalgam of “vomiting” and “screaming.”
“In my work, in the emergency room, I see at least one patient a day with the Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome,” Dr. Roneet Lev, the director of operations at Scripps Mercy Hospital, told NBC.
Dr. Linda Nguyen, a gastroenterologist at Stanford Health Care, says she encounters about three to four patients a month with CHS. A more apt description of the syndrome, in her opinion, is “cromiting.”
“I tend to see more crying and vomiting, less so screaming,” Nguyen said."

"To lose sight of this precious truth of justification by faith is to miss the supreme purpose of the gospel, which must prove disastrous to the individual, no matter how well meaning and earnest he may be regarding doctrines, ceremonies, activities, and anything and everything else relating to religion. The warning is clearly given by the servant of the Lord:

"Unless divine power is brought into the experience of the people of God, false theories and erroneous ideas will take minds captive, Christ and His righteousness will be dropped out of the experience of many, and their faith will be without power or life. Such will not have a daily living experience of the love of God in the heart; and if they do not zealously repent, they will be among those who are represented by the Laodiceans, who will be spewed out of the mouth of God." – Review and Herald, Sept. 3, 1889.

To a lamentable degree, God's people failed to bring the divine power into their experience, and the result predicted has been seen:

1-False theories and erroneous ideas have taken minds captive.
2- Christ and His righteousness have been dropped out of the experience of many.
3-The faith of many is without power or life.
4-There is not a living daily experience of the love of God in the heart.

Still further, we are told that much has been lost to the cause of God by the failure to gain that living experience of divine power – Righteousness by Faith."

previous to that, since the Council of Elvira in 304, although there were allowances up until the strict prohibition drafted by Gregory.

The Vatican confirmed to the press on Monday that it has a secret manual to help priests who have illegitimate children.
Vatican official, Alessandro Gisotti, told the New York Times, “I can confirm that these guidelines exist. It is an internal document.”

As a part of the New York Times story, a man named Vincent Doyle discovered that his ‘godfather,’ Rev. John J. Doyle, was

actually his biological father. Doyle then went to Rome to discover how many other children were raised as fatherless even though their dads worked as priests and says that an archbishop showed him an official Vatican document that outlined secret rules for priests who have children out of wedlock. 

The term used in the Vatican document for illegitimate children by priests are “Children of the Ordained.”
The document encourages the priest to leave the priesthood in order to “assume his responsibilities as a parent by devoting himself exclusively to the child.” However, the church will not make a priest do so and will allow him to continue to serve so long as his child is kept a secret."

Creation Moment 2/21/2019 - Refuting the use of Theodicy by Evolutionary Atheists

"Spiegel notes that the problem of evil, often considered the bedrock of atheism, “could never count as grounds for atheism”.

This objection is usually framed as a question like, “How could a theistic God allow evil, since by definition he doesn’t like it and is able to stop it?” Spiegel states that “one cannot—whether by appeals to evil or anything else—eliminate the need to explain the existence of the universe. Nor does the problem of evil eradicate the abundant physical and biological evidence for design”. He admits that while it is challenging, the problem of evil really has nothing much to do with explaining how this world got here.

Not only this, but New Atheists like Richard Dawkins who have used the problem of evil to argue against God’s existence actually “have no grounds to call anything evil”.
The New Atheists are ‘positivists’, which means they believe that all real or true knowledge must come from a science experiment.
Spiegel correctly points out that this faith claim is self-refuting, since, “the notion that all beliefs must be scientifically verifiable is, well, not scientifically verifiable”.

First, the link between right living and “cognitive function” is found in Ephesians 4:17–19, which the author exegeted. Verse 18 must be referring to people like atheists, “having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.”
According to Spiegel, “the root of the problem, apparently, is not a lack of intelligence but rather a hardness of heart that is itself caused by immoral behavior”."

"When investigators swept in and raided the religious Antonio Provolo Institute for the Deaf, they uncovered one of the worst cases yet among the global abuse scandals plaguing the Catholic Church: a place of silent torment where prosecutors say pedophiles preyed on the most isolated and submissive children.

The scope of the alleged abuse was vast. Charges are pending against 13 suspects; a 14th person pleaded guilty to sexual abuse, including rape, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The case of the accused ringleader - an octogenarian Italian priest named Nicola Corradi - is set to go before a judge next month.
Corradi was spiritual director of the school and had a decades-long career spanning two continents. And so his arrest in late 2016 raised an immediate question: Did the Catholic Church have any sense that he could be a danger to children?

The answer, according to a Washington Post investigation that included a review of court and church documents, private letters, and dozens of interviews in Argentina and Italy, is that church officials up to and including Pope Francis were warned repeatedly and directly about a group of alleged predators that included Corradi.
Yet they took no apparent action against him.

"I want Pope Francis to come here, I want him to explain how this happened, how they knew this and did nothing," a 24-year-old alumna of the Provolo Institute said, using sign language as her hands shook in rage. She and her 22-year-old brother, who

requested anonymity to share their experiences as minors, are among at least 14 former students who say they were victims of abuse at the now-shuttered boarding school in the shadow of the Andes.

The Italian victims' efforts to sound the alarm to church authorities began in 2008 and included mailing a list of accused priests to Francis in 2014 and physically handing him the list in 2015.
It was not the church, however, but Argentine  law enforcement that cut off Corradi's access to children when it shut down the Provolo school in Lujan. Argentine prosecutors say the church has not fully cooperated with their investigation."

Our divine Lord defended himself by what is called an argumentum ad hominem, an argument to the men themselves; for he said, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not go after that which is lost, until he find it?"

 No argument tells more powerfully upon men than one which comes close home to their own daily life, and the Savior put it so. They were silenced, if they were not convinced.

 

It was a peculiarly strong argument, because in their case it was only a sheep that they would go after, but in his case it was something infinitely more precious than all the flocks of sheep that ever fed on Sharon or Carmel; for it was the soul of man which he sought to save.

Observe here that it is a definite search. The shepherd goes after the sheep, and after nothing else; and he has the one particular sheep in his mind's eye.
Note that this is an all-absorbing search. He is thinking of nothing but his own lost sheep.
It is an active search too; for observe, he goes after that which is lost, until he finds it;
For notice the perseverance of the search: "until he find it." He does not stop till he has done the deed.
But now, see, the shepherd finds the sheep, and he lays it on his shoulders. It is an uplifting action, raising the fallen one from the earth whereon he has strayed."

Harrison Administration Lesson for the Future of America

The Catholic church opposed his efforts all through his administration. She tried to prevent his nomination at Minneapolis, but failed; then when Cleveland was nominated, she threw all her influence for Cleveland, and he was elected.

President Harrison tried to stop that appropriation but could not do it and was obliged to confess through Senator Dawes on the floor of Congress that he found it impossible to do it.

Well, then, when it was impossible to break this off by an administration that was absolutely opposed to it, how can it possibly be broken off in an administration that began it, that is in favor of it, and that was supported by the Catholic church upon this sole issue?

"Astronomers using ESA’s Gaia satellite have discovered a large stellar stream that is currently traversing the immediate solar neighborhood at a distance of only 326 light-years. The stream contains at least 4,000 stars that have been moving together in space.

“Most star clusters in the disk of our Milky Way Galaxy disperse rapidly as they do not contain enough stars to create a deep gravitational potential well, or in other words, they do not have enough glue to keep them together,” said Dr. Stefan Meingast.

An extrapolation beyond these limits suggests the stream should have at least 4,000 stars, thereby making the structure more massive than most know clusters in the immediate solar neighborhood.

“As soon as we investigated this particular group of stars in more detail, we knew that we had found what we were looking for: a coeval, stream-like structure, stretching for hundreds of parsecs across a third of the entire sky,” said Verena Fürnkranz, a student at the University of Vienna."

ARCHAEOLOGY: First Post-Babel Wave to the America's?

So what this basically means is that before the first big wave from babel, traveling across Asia, reached the America's, that a smaller group led the way in advance......sort of an advance part....

"In the new study, researchers sequenced the full genome of an infant – a girl named Xach’itee’aanenh T’eede Gaay (Sunrise Child-girl) by the local Native community – whose remains were found at the Upward Sun River site in 2013.

To their surprise, the scientists found that although Xach’itee’aanenh T’eede Gaay had lived long after people first arrived in the region, her genetic information did not match either of the two recognized branches of early Native Americans, which are referred to as Northern and Southern.
Instead, she appeared to have belonged to an entirely distinct Native American population, which they called Ancient Beringians.
“She and a younger female infant found at the Upward Sun River site in 2013 were closely related, likely first cousins. The younger infant has been named Yekaanenh T’eede Gaay (Dawn Twilight Girl-child).”

“It’s the first time that we have had direct genomic evidence that all Native Americans can be traced back to one source population, via a single, founding migration event.”
The researchers compared data from the Upward Sun River remains with both ancient genomes, and those of numerous present-day populations.
This allowed the team first to establish that the Ancient Beringian group was more closely related to early Native Americans than their Asian and Eurasian ancestors, and then to determine the precise nature of that relationship and how, over time, they split into distinct populations."
