"Prof Paul Davies of Arizona State University is a very well-known theoretical physicist and award-winning author. He makes this confession about the origin of conscious minds:
"Consciousness is the number-one problem of science, of existence even. Most scientists just steer clear of it, thinking it too much of a quagmire. Those scientists and philosophers who have dived in have usually become stuck. Information theory offers one way forward. The brain is an information-processing organ of stupendous complexity and intricate organization. … Not everyone agrees, however, that cracking the information architecture problem will ‘explain’ consciousness …"
South African neuropsychologist and psychoanalyst Mark Solms, another convinced believer in evolution, admits that:"The history of cognitive neuroscience is a graveyard of theories that tried to specify the function of consciousness."
In truth, Solms’ bias against supernatural explanations is blinding him to the ultimate (true) explanation for the origin of the conscious minds of human beings:"Therefore, there surely was a good deal of time before consciousness existed. If there was a dawn, there must have been something prior to consciousness that explains it. The alternative notion—that consciousness preceded life and the universe—doesn’t fit the facts as they appear to be, and moreover it sounds unhelpfully like the idea of God."
There are no facts about the anatomy and functioning of the brain and mind that conflict with supernatural creation, only the prejudice of some scientists."
